This is my 3rd time on this review and I think this 1 star rating will suffice. I purchased my scooter more about a month and a half ago (about the end of May 2017) and it honestly looks like Ive had it atleast 3 times that. I have taken extreme gentle care and I use it as a alternative to riding metro so I use it a lot. Excluding the infamous DC potholes, nothing but natural wear to report. I paid $1500 for a Tao Tao 150cc ($1300 for the bike and $200 for some goodies including a helmet and a chain) which friends and family AND bike repair professional reported as "way too much". Now I have heard both mixed reviews of the brand both being bad and good so I decided to be my own person and try it my self despite warnings of the price and quality for I have stories of people having Tao Taos for as little as 8 months to as long as 5 years. However I was eager, this was my first bike, so I was determined to not let that deter me. First things first: Within a week of me having the bike the windshield which I paid $140 for, fell off. Completely unprovoked. I took it back and In this visit however, I met Andre, the shop owner who had graciously thanked me for my business and told me that he lives off his name and wouldnt dare deliver bad service. Mind you, this is following a phone conversation in which he called me interrogating me on why I left a poor review on here he first time. Result: fixed. About another week passes, and the same windshield falls off---again. This time Im fed up so I decide to have it removed. They take it off, no problems asked. Some odd weeks later again, my side panel starts to come loose. I return to redline and this time they tell me that theres "no way to avoid" the side paneling coming lose and falling off. The shops solution? Zip ties and a drill. Meanwhile, while I neared my side of town to go home, the zip tie had fallen off so I had to visit a local hardware store and replace the zip ties they had put on there. Heres the kicker: this is still June 2017. About 3 days later, the right side panel comes loose and pops off causing the tail light to come lose and now Im riding with a dragging tail light. So in all, Im fed up. But, I havent had an oil change at this point and I need it. Redline wants me to do the oil change for $140. (Thats the price of the windshield that never stayed) I decided to do my own research and I found 3 locations that will do it in DC. One charges $80, another $37 and another $75. I decided to take my chances on the $75 place. Visited the guy and he was extremely professional. And when I had mentioned where I had purchased it from, he laughed and groaned and so did 3 others who had did so before me. He looked at my bike and checked over it briefly and proceeded to say that 1) I had obviously been ripped off 2) That place has a terrible reputation and often goes down as Being very questionable at times, 3) The side panel pieces werent secured correctly nor looked as though they fit, 4)that he would do the oil change for $40 and the $75 charge would be the oil change and a tune up. So in all, I am extremely mad at myself for being played but I guess thats apart of growing. As for business with Redline and me, I will close that book and never look back. I am however looking at maybe a different model for the summer time of 2018, I will enjoy this Tao Tao and hopefully use it as a learning opportunity.

These guys are awesome. I have a vintage Honda Magna 87 bike that no one in the area wants to even touch because its too old. The bike is actually in very good condition. After being rejected on the phone by 8 different bike shops, these guys said to bring it in without hesitation. Theyve done some work on my brakes, calipers, and some electrical work, and have been very honest about their assessments as well as having fair prices. Im looking forward to bringing in more front fender and frame work to them, and I trust my bike will be in good hands. EDIT 6/26/14: My number one shop just outdid themselves again. They did an excellent job rebuilding my suspension and even changed my brakes for free due to being a loyal customer. On top of that, they changed my break fluid and fixed some pesky stripped screws I had been meaning to fix this weekend. These guys are the best. I 110% recommend them. If youre still in doubt about which shop to go to, dont look further.

I researched good scooters after buying a cheap Chinese scooter and found that Kymco was a good scooter for my money. I first went to Freestate and they tried to rip me off. I found Redline and called Andre at 6:30pm and asked what time did he close, he stated at 7pm. I told him I was on my way but I might not get there till 6:50p. He said come on he will wait on me. I purchased a 200 People scooter. Andre sold me the scooter for the price that it was advertised on Kymco. com, he said if I didnt like the scooter I have two weeks to ride. I went back to have something fix and saw the scooter that I really wanted. Andre took the scooter I first purchased and gave me the full amount back and I put it towards my new 250 People. He and his crew have been so awesome to me. I have a good time with them whenever I go to visit or have service. Thanks Andre for being such an honest businessman. Tracie

These guys are legit. Ive been riding for a long time now, and been to many shops. These guys have the best mechanics, and actually know what theyre talking about. I moved here from CA about 2 years ago, and tried other shops when I couldnt get my scooter started. Everyone else tried to change the battery, or thought I had electrical problems. I took the scooter over to Redline, and they said it just needed a carb clean. I went to go get lunch, came bk & my bike was working again. I also recently decided to purchase a scooter for my gf, and she liked the vintage look so I got her a Kymco Like50. They had us both on the road together with accessories, new locks, helmets, etc. in a matter of no time and at an affordability price. They also warranty their work which is why I would recommend them to anyone looking to service or buy a new scooter.

Today was my first experience with Redline Scooters, and I am very impressed!!! I brought in my 50cc TaoTao because it wasnt running right. They immediately knew what was wrong (the carburetor needed to be cleaned), and even though I didnt buy the scooter from Redline, the mechanic stopped what he was doing to fix it to save me the trouble of having to leave it there overnight. The mechanic, Darrell, was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. I am a new scooter owner, and he patiently answered all of my questions. He was very thorough, and was able to finish the job in less than an hour. I am happy to report that the problem is completely fixed, and my scooter is running better than ever. The next time my scooter needs a tune-up or any kind of work done, I will absolutely be bringing it to Redline!
