I recently attended a ride promoted by and which left from the shop. The ride was described as having averaged 20 bikes the past two years and as an opportunity to try out cold-weather electric gear. It was supposed to start at 10am. I arrived about 9:30 and found one gentleman sort of wandering around. I introduced myself and it turned out he was also there for the ride. There were some other bikes sitting around that looked to be "riders" and not "sellers" so I figured the people would show up at some point. The ride leader eventually showed up, as did the folks who owned the other bikes. The leader never made introductions and it became apparent from the familiarity of the five riders on four bikes that they all knew one another. I saw no electric gear to try out and nobody offered any ... indeed the small group just stood there talking among themselves. 10am rolls around and Im wondering when were about to get underway. About 10:15, some guy zooms up on a bike and says hello to the five people who are talking amongst themselves. The leader then announces the route and how well ride: when well stop, who will sweep, etc. Mr. 10:15 declares that hes not sure he has enough gas to make it to our destination ... so hes late and hell make us later by having to tank up. During the ride, which left about 10:30, two riders are memorable because they were so dangerous. Brandon, who works at the shop and was weaving back and forth and alternately accelerating and decelerating with no apparent regard for how close he came to the back of my bike. And the sweeper who routinely rode up alongside of me and twice passed me. Brandon actually rode through two stop signs. The gal who was sweeping also rode past me and through a stop sign at which I was stopped while two older folks were attempting to use a crosswalk. She didnt even make an effort to stop -- it was like she didnt realize there was a stop sign, a crosswalk or pedestrians. I have never seen such a rag-tag, inhospitable, dangerous group of riders. I know people who like this shop but to be treated so poorly and subjected to dangerous riding conditions while on a ride sponsored by a shop .... well I just dont know. Chris is a fantastic guy and his shop has a great selection but this ride was totally out of control -- Brandon included -- and I will recommend other shops for bikes, accessories and service because of how I was treated.

Brandon, thank you for making this an easy transition from bike to bike. It is evident you go out of your way to accommodate the wants/needs of prospective buyers. Tim, I really enjoyed your easy going and laid back approach. Will have no problem doing business with you two. Kristina, youre friendly, patient, and knowledgeable demeanor is a great attribute for your position, thank you. Wes, your knowledge about the BMW was indispensable, and I ponder why you are not more involved with BMW Motorrad. Your assistance smoothed the process of becoming comfortable on a new machine; thank you. About the machine: I have a horrible case of adventure-itis, but needed a workhorse that would complement the ability to carry motorcycle safety related equipment up and down central Pennsylvania several times a week. The 2015 BMW R1200GS Adventure is exactly what the Dr. ordered. She is an amazing machine, and I had the opportunity to put 1,000 miles on her the first five days of ownership, with several hundred of those on state maintained dirt roads up in Mansfield. It is now clear as to why the R1200GSA is the benchmark for adventure riders. Looking forward to many miles with smiles. Next order of business is to mount some 50/50 shoes on her...maybe some k60s. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and look forward to working with Team Velocity again. Thank you. Purchased a used bike on Craigslist. Backfired and popped like crazy. Engine so rough at highway speeds the images in mirrors blurred so badly vehicles were indistinguishable. Fuel economy was low 90s MPG. The bike now runs smooth as a sewing machine. Virtually no vibration at 70-75 MPH. No pops and backfires. Can hardly wait to run a tank or two to see what fuel economy improvements gains I experience. Thanks Bike #1: 2009 Yamaha XV 250 Dark Cherry, only real modification is swapping the stock 16/45 sprockets for 17/38 sprockets - a huge improvement, highly recommended for all owners. Bike #2: 2009 Yamaha XV 650 Midnight (or Raven). - my Sunday-go-to-meeting/date bike - low 60s MPG. Car: 2000 Honda Insight M/T - high 50s MPG. My motorcycling background is almost exclusively dirt bikes. 75% dirt 25% road (cruiser style). As you might have inferred, I am a low fuel consumption enthusiast.

Sold me a salvage engine motorcycle without telling me! Bought an 09 KLR650 in 2015 from them. Had electrical problems with the bike, which ended up being related to a chafed harness from the engine swap. Had a Kawasaki dealer tell me that the bike had a replaced engine (VIN and engine numbers didnt match). After getting rid of the bike, I politely called Velocity to let them know that in the future they may want to check for this on their received trade-ins. Chris, the owner, tells me that THEY had switched the engines and that the sales person should have let me know this (not in the sales paperwork; but verbally - didnt happen). The owner tried to weasel his way out of any responsibility ("oh, well none of our sales staff from then are still here," "we normally dont swap engines," etc). AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

“I wasnt sure what the most cost effective way to lower my BMW RT suspension was. Tim had great insight and recommended the EPM spring kit. He ordered all the requisite parts including a shorter kickstand and seamlessly coordinated the repair order with Mindy in service.” Recent update: New Motorcycle Purchases June 2017 Chris Cuomo, the owner, helped me find a buyer for my BMW RT and also sold me a 2017 Honda CTX700. Brandon in sales, sold my wife a 2014 Honda CTX700 a few weeks earlier and Kristina facilitated all the paperwork for both deals. Everyone was knowledgeable, efficient and fun to work with. Wes did a great job going over the bikes with each of us prior to riding off. We got a very good price on both motorcycles. We live in Carlisle and are grateful to have an outstanding dealership like Velocity close by.

I bought a new 2014 BMW R1200RT just recently. I had been looking at it for a while and talked to George a few months ago. Then the whole thing got complicated with the BMW stop ride order. George was great in keeping me informed of what he could verify, no wild speculations etc. When BMW released and repaired the bikes, he called to let me know, and I test rode it. He was fair and good to work with and we reached an agreement. Id definitely go back to Velocity and him. I was talking to another dealer at the same time. There are none in WV and I had to go to Pennsylvania or neighboring states. The other dealer never called, never seemed interested in my business etc. And I am glad. Cuase it worked out so well with Velocity.
