We are current students of K9 Koncepts. They offer good training for YOU not your dog. The dogs already knows how to do everything and the reason they do not obey because you do not know how to obey. They fix that. They are a very laided back establishment and if you need extra help you just have to ask. There are new dogs in your class at all times and you have a different trainer on different days. Some trainers are more AKC trainers, others are more protection dog trainers and others are trackers so if you know what job you want your dog to have or what theory you subscribe to then pick your trainer. This is NOT pet smart! If they have to give your dog a SOLID correction then you have to give your dog a solid correction. These people are primarily training large breed dogs. I have seen one toy breed and that was a trainers grand daughter that comes to work with her on occasion. These classes are for Labs, Rots, Shepards etc... Pros and cons: Pro 1. Different trainers so you can pick what style of training you are comfortable with. 2. You can attend class up to 4 nights per week so its up to you how fast you want to progress. 3. Good theorys that are put into practice at each lesson. 4. Good training course (outside) 5. 16 weeks of classes and even if you do not pass the test after 16 weeks they wont kick you out. Cons 1. A little disorganized with who is doing what but you just need to take the bull by the horns and raise your hand when you have trouble with something. A hand out would have been nice at beginning saying dos and donts 2. The inside is TOO SMALL!!! Especially when you have a 10 dog class. If they cleaned up the vast amounts of cages, wood and other items I am sure the space would prove to be much better and comfortable. 3. Yes, the place is dirty so dont wear Prada. Your there for your dog. With all of that said the pros weigh out over the cons any day. We have been going for just over a month and there is a significant difference in our dog. Be aware that new classes do not start every week. Classes start the day you sign up so you do not have a single class. You can have dogs that passed with you one nite and all puppies the next day so once again if you do not understand something raise your hand! In regards to the KFC Chicken person below. Yes, they eat. They are training dogs from the morning to the afternoon into the evening and the 1:00 Sat or Sunday class (Lunch Time) and the 6:00PM /7:00PM (Dinner time) may be the only time they have a chance to grab a bite. They are NOT training your dogs YOU are training your dogs so if you dont like it go to Pet Smart. If you are serious about training your dogs then this is a good place. They WILL give you the knowledge and tools to get it done. Also they sell AWESOME dog food!

We adopted a 5 year old German Shepherd Dog with many deep issues. K-9 Koncepts was suggested for training him. Pay no attention to the facility, its not pretty and the location isnt the greatest. Do pay close attention to the trainers and their constant concern and broad knowledge of dog training. They teach you to communicate clearly and effectively and that it be fun for you and your pet. My wife and I leave every week marveling over what we have learned and how much we didnt know after having dogs for years. This is no Petsmart "frufru" training. They deal with all types of dogs (many large breeds) and work with you to correct and train.... you. You quickly realize that it is you that leaves each week learning how to communicate with your pet and create a working partnership. We are endebted to Bill and his staff for teaching us how to create a life for our Shepherd that we once thought impossible............................... PS: I read Dans review and to my knowledge they have never said that they trained police dogs, obviously the police do that. I was told they have trained dogs to be accepted and ready for the program and that many have eventually entered service. As for an e-collar (or shock collar). We did buy one and were instructed on how to effecvtively use it. We even tried it on ourselves to understand its effect. When you have an aggressive or headstrong dog it is a humane way to modify behavior. Understand that these people love dogs and would never harm one. As the owner said to me over the phone before I met him regarding my aggressive dog " I would rather see him trained than have a needle put in him". If not for K-9 Koncepts that would have been a real possibility. Sorry, one last thing. We paid a flat fee and for past 4 &1/2 months have went at least twice a week. Thats roughly 36 times at at least an hour at a time, we are not through and could go more often if we wanted. For my money its a bargain.

I contacted K-9 concepts after having worked with two separate trainers for my German Shepherd. Although my Shepherd was trained on a leash and knew basic commands she was displaying a lot of dog aggression and fence charging. Also after working with these other "experts" we still couldnt get her to come when called! Her behavior was getting completely out of control and the neighbors were on a war path. I was fearful for my dog as she is really the sweetest, greatest dog ever. I was desperate for some real help. Bill from K-9 concepts called me back immediately and realized the severity of our situation. We got to work right away. I am not joking with in 3 days we were able to stop my dog from fence charging, within 2 weeks I was able to get my dog to come consistently when called. After 3 weeks she is able to be left in a sit stay until told to be released, a circus could even walk past her! I will not lie it is hard work and a bit time consuming but so worth it in the end. I am proud of my dog. She went from being bad mouthed around the neighborhood to my neighbors calling for K-9 concepts number. I do not believe it to be an exaggeration to say that Bill saved my dogs life as her aggression towards other dogs was a real issue. The fact that I can safely take her to the park with my five children and she pays other dogs no attention after only a few weeks is a real testament to Bill and the staff of K-9 concepts.

Where do I start...... I had took my American Bulldog Boss to training in PetsMart. I went threw three classes but I still didnt have the complete control over my dog as I would like. Being a large breed I didnt want any mistakes as grew. I meet Kiki at the vet one Saturday and I will say after we talked for a few mins I was second guessing what I should do. I waited about a month and gave them a call. When I went in Bill gave me a demo. After seeing his dog in action it made me notice that is the control I was looking for and after talking to Bill he help me understand where I wanted Boss to be. When classes started I will say I was a little on the nervous didnt know what to expect. I got there and meet Rachel she is the best made me feel right at home. Rachel, Kiki and Gale where a great team. I had so much fun felt like one of the family like I have known them all my life. Now that obedience training I have moved on to the Sporting Club. I will say I am so happy that I have meet Kiki and she talked me into coming to K-9 Koncepts. Every time I take Boss for a walk or we go to the park I always get how well behave he is and how well he listens to me.
