Esoteric

Did not enjoy my time here. Its downtown so parking is not very ideal. Hope you find an empty parking space on the street. I knew that coming in so it is what it is. Once I make it in the store, everything looks nice and stocked. Staff did not greet us once again and didnt even acknowledge whether we needed help with anything either. I mean usually I prefer staff leaving me alone to browse too but i just got the vibe they didnt give a care about us. Once I found my particular genre, prices were cheap for used cds $2-$8 price range with is great. My main issue is they keep everything locked behind glass so you have to ask staff to open it and then they will stand over you as you look. Its not like youre able to pick up each cd and look at the cover, quality etc. you just get to look at the names on the cd based on their side name bar. On second note, I notice this with all used cd stores, dont think youre slick and not fooling anyone when you put the hip hop section closest to the staff/registers. We know yall think we are going to steal everything, smh.

5 stars if you are a fan of the mainstream, zero stars if youre looking for unusual fare. Zero ambient, zero classical/neoclassical, a film score or two here or there, zero industrial/noise/experimental. If youre in the market to pick up, I dunno, an Aerosmith CD or something, or you want some blues on vinyl (how mind bogglingly adventurous!) then youll want to stop in most definitely. Remember that scene in High Fidelity where the guy comes in looking for "I Just Called to Say I Love You" and Jack Black chases him out? Yeah that guy would be perfectly at home here. The thing is? This store _COULD_ support a broader market.

They have alot of stuff you expect, cds, video games, game stations, older vinyl, posters, but what i really like about them is their huge dvd section ive been able to get my hands on tv show series that are out of print here on occasion and as far as new vinyl they have a specific section though its not very big & a bin for leftover record store day items which i appreciate. All in all if im in the area ill pop my head in and see whats new but i dont go out of my way. very friendly staff great customer service just not a ton of new vinyl.

I love the prices and the variety. I end up buying teetering stacks of CDs and gambling on titles (50 cents!) that occasionally are real winners. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, opening glass cases, welcoming my dog to sit beside me, putting aside a few disks if Ill return to purchase within a day or two. I wish I stopped by more often -- who knows what Im missing?

service sucked and not many retro things in stocks as far as gaming and decent dvds...i recommend Pandora cube in stead of this place never gong back here again it was better before they moved its location but now its not eye candy and not welcoming.

Small selection, they have more video games and DVDs than records. Not sure Id ever want to risk buying an LP here as Im pretty sure the horrible vape smell in the shop has been soaked into all of the record jackets.

The Record Exchange not only has an amazing resource for vinyl, but has a great video game section as well. The staff is reasonable and knowledgeable, and the prices arent off the charts.

Cool, unpretentious staff and really reasonable prices. Totally feasible to go in with $10 and come out with several interesting DVDs/Blurays or a game.

Pretty small selection. Hard to get to and to find parking. Prices were ok but not great. I found a couple good LPs, but probably wont go back.
