They get a star for having a convenient location. Yet they ruin it by offering an horridly frustrating shopping experience. Theyre the closest store by 5 minutes for me, but Id rather cross Ritchie Hwy and go to Giant. I cant say it enough - the shopping experience at Safeway is beyond frustrating. There are rarely two cashiers open, yet it would make little difference because they work painfully slow. And Ive given up on the self check-out, its slower than the cashiers. Using the debit card option is slower than a computer from the 80s. And often at least one of the machines is down. The aisle organization is non-sensical, making the trip longer to find something. The prices are generally higher than nearby Giant, Food Lion, and even Harris Teeter, and for what? Ive honestly saved time taking the drive to Giant or Harris Teeter because the speed of the checkout process. Save yourself the frustration and shop elsewhere.

Two stars instead of one because it is convenient (i.e. close to me and on my commute home without changing my route at all). The lines are always long. The few cashiers working move at a snails pace. The food is over priced even for the area. One good thing is they finally renovated it recently with all the overpaying weve been doing. But now I think the prices are slightly higher because of it. Last comment might be more a reflection on the area/other patrons. Even though Ive lived and shopped in Severna Park for almost 7yrs, theres no other place quite like this one when it comes to odd looks coming my way from other patrons. Since my face is not disfigured I quickly came to realize they werent comfortable or used to a tall man of color being well dressed and shopping there. But "The Park" can be that way sometimes.

The people are great but this place only get one star because over the 10 years I have been grabbing items there is a constant lack of check out lanes open on peak hours. The issue is so bad that I feel the need to 2 star. And the person that said quick check out was there like at 9pm. Generally, the fruit was not bug ridden. Harris Teeter opened, so due to the check out issue for years I may be forced to go there as driving another half a mile further from my house would save me more time than waiting in the check out lines. Safeway did not need to remodel the exterior of the store, they just needed more people at the checkout. People are great, prices are so-so, inventory is adequate in relation to the size of the store.

The fruit this year was awful. Spoiled quickly and the bugs eating on the fruit was not very appealing. I go to Safeway mostly to refill water jugs. The check out is the worst. At 5:00pm there should never only be one or two lines open. Customers are lined up down the isles waiting and it takes customers complaining to get back up. The carts could use updating and Ive been saying that since spring. They all make scraping noises or the wheels are not working. I always check the carts "sounds" before I pick one because its embarrassing walking through with screeching noises. The staff is very friendly but they can only work with what they are given. Would like to see more help in the store and some maintenance for the carts.

Nice staff. Very helpful. Solid selection including fresh fruit, organic foods, bakery, deli, meats, and pre-prepared foods. Also have Starbucks and redbox. Easy parking and good hours. A little smaller than some competitors within 15 minutes, but great location for us. Been going here for 20 years with only a couple tiny complaints in all that time. Thanks for being reliable and good.

Clean store and a friendly staff! The bakery manager/cake decorator is wonderful - my husbands birthday is in October and he loves fall and Halloween and she always does a fantastic job on his birthday cakes. I just tell her to go crazy and she always makes it so creative and amazing! Weall definitely continue to get all of our birthday cakes here!

I dont see this grocery store being open too much longer. The store smells horrible, the prices are high and the competition is coming. Wegmans smokes this store and Harris Teeter is coming.

Good selection, relatively quick checkout. Only complaint is the fact that the parking lot is horribly designed with regards to entrance/exit on Benfield and Jumpers Hole Rd.

A very well organized store that was also clean and easy to navigate. The lines also moved quickly and they had more than enough registers open. No complaints.

Could not find my favorites. Only 2 checkers. People in the isles waiting to check out. No managers on duty. Im going to Harris teeter for better service.

Newly renovated it is a nice store to visit. The Pharmisist was friendly, answered all my questions and assisted me locate some items.

Produce is always in rough shape. Customer service is terrible. There is always a line. Self check is rarely attended.
