Restaurants arent just about the food. I visited Bar Harbor as one of my cruise destinations. After searching the web, walking up/down Main st and reading Google reviews we decided to stop at Peekytoe Provisions. We had a party of 12. The male waiter said that they dont take resevavations and told us to sit in the garden which was more like a waiting area (given the amount of bugs crawling on the table height garden box). The area was directly in the sun and offered no shade. After waiting 30 minutes a table opened up. We proceeded to sit at the table since the waiter said its open seating (no reservations).The male waiter said there was a waiting list and the table was reserved for another group. This group came long after we arrived. The waiter was rude in addressing us and told us to sit back in the garden area. I questioned the difference between a reservation and waiting list but he could not provide a response other than you can sit at the bar area inside. Initially he told us that the inside tables/bar area was full when we first arrived. Suddenly the inside bar area was available.

Todays special fish taco were made with locally sourced John Dory. Not your usual flavorless tilpia folks! This fish was kissed with a bit of panko breading, lightly fried, had a firm flesh and a headier fish flavor. Married with some fresh greens and paired with a light blueberry compote, these were an amazing daily special! WOW. They also offered a great riff on clam chowder. Chowder that wasnt too thick, enhanced with a hint of sherry, and made with fresh clams. Yes, fresh clams! Offered in two sizes, you can even add extra clams. Who wouldnt want to add some more freshly shucked clams! Really Yummy!. So, as youre wandering through Bar Harbor, stop into Peekytoe and enjoy some truly well prepared food. Special Note: This is not only a restaurant, but a great place to get locally sourced fresh seafood to prepare at home!

Restaurant sur place et à emporter. Très simple, très frais et de bons produits, locaux au maximum. On y a mangé en famille plusieurs fois avec plaisir. Type sandwichs, soupes et salades. On peut aussi y acheter des produits locaux. Très propre et bon rapport qualité prix

Fish tacos - can taste freshness of the fish but lacked flavor Crab cakes - this is probably the worst thing we ordered. Maybe I was hyped up by the amazing reviews, but it was a big soggy and disappointing Lobster roll- the best, we got it hot with butter. The bread was perfectly toasted and the meat was so fresh!

Informal, friendly, good vegetarian options. We ate our lunch here a couple of times this week. The mushroom sandwich is fantastic, as was the vegetarian chilli soup. There is bar style seating inside, with lots of tables outside next to the road. Good place for vegetarians.

They have fresh and delicious homemade food including a "footlong" lobster roll. The patio was nice and inviting on a warm sunny day, each table has a patio umbrella to shade the sun if you need.

Everything was fresh and well put together. A good place for lobster rolls and other deli seafood. Best value if youre looking for a lobster roll. Especially the footlong!

Food is fine nothing special, foot long lobster roll is kinda small and bit pricey, also has no lobster taste. Lobster bisque has some kind of Indian food taste to it.
