The Wal-mart on College Dr. in Baton Rouge continues to be a problem in our community. Over the past few years, I have lived close by this wal-mart. There is an extreme lack of leadership. The employees dont care about anything except themselves. Products are constantly missing. The reason I am writing this letter is because I have reached the final straw with this wal-mart. As you may know, this wal-mart closes now at 12:00 am. Sometimes, I go in the last 10 to 15 minutes before they close because it is my only time that I can make it there some days. I do my best to be as quick as possible, and I always am ready to check out before 12. The last time I went in that late two older women employees were rushing me out at 11:55 pm, saying that if I did not hurry up, then the cashier would not check me out. (There is always one or two cashiers at the end of the night, here, with a full line of people.) Today in particular, was a night that I stopped in at 11:50 pm, and I needed sinus medicine, soap, and paper towels. I could have quickly and easily grabbed the products and left. As I approached the door, the security officer stopped me and told me that they were closed. I answered, "Yes, they close at 12 am." (I have been numerous other times and never had this problem.) She just replied, "Uh-huh," and continued to turn me away. I was agitated, but I decided to watch her completely unbiased. To my disbelief, I watched her let in three white males in to the store around 11:55 pm. I am a bi-racial woman with a light brown complexion. I just found it to be a bit odd that she would let them in instead of me, but those are the real facts of the situation. I drove next to the door and politely stateted, " Maam, I just watched you let 3 other people in the door. Her response was, "Uh-huh, " just as before." I drove away before I could sat anything that would cause me to get in trouble. I spend hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars at this wal-mart a month. I WILL NOT EVER GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION. NEXT TIME, I WILL JUST GO TO WAL-GREENS AROUND THE CORNER. I WILL continue to report this wal-mart until I get a response from someone at wal-mart headquarters. I do not deserve this treatment from any organization that I spend money. It is a shame to see this wal-mart being ran the way it has.

The first TWO trips to this store were bad! Two checkout lanes open and the store packed on a Friday evening( 7:30-9:00 pm ) both times I waked out and left buggies full of stuff. Customer service sucks and management wasnt much better. My third trip was icing on the cake. An entire shelf and its contents fell on my foot. I went to the nearest worker I could find. She was the sweetest and most attentive employee. She went and tried to find a manger. After waiting over 15 minutes for one, I told the employee I needed to finish my shopping to have me paged when he decided to show up. After I checked out, I needed to page my party. Cashier led me to the customer service supervisor, Rodell. He called the operator to page my party. After waiting over ten minutes for the page, I go to the customer service desk. The cashier was not only rude but took her time asking if she could help me. When I replied yes and told her what I needed, she turned around and started helping the person behind me and ignored me while she talked. I go back to Rodell and voiced my opinion and asked if he would get a manger for me. This young man did everything in his power to help me and finally had my party paged. Also got a supervisor up to have an incident report filled out. I would say this is the WORST Walmart I have ever been in. And Ive been in many.

Something has to be big to make me come here and spend the time on this. I believe customer service is one of the prestige of a business, seeing people first and money last. I was terrify for the way the receptionist of Walmart on College drive handled me on the phone, I was trying to save driving from a long distance to Walmart to get a valued product, the receptionist did not greet me appropriately, when I asked to speak with the electronic department she did not appropriately guide me. As a professional when someone one the phone asks you to spear to a department, you should guide to person by nicely saying something like" Please hold on while I am transfering you to the... Bla bla bla" I call three times, all the times she just hang up the phone letting me in confusion whether ot not the call was either transfered or whatever, just make me wait endlessly. When I finally got mad and call again to talk to her she was going to yell out to me when I quickly add "please stop interupting me, you could have easily failed secret shopping you never know who is answering the call. Professionalism should me a uniform for a big company like walmart everywhere but it sad that it the level that walmart is, its customer agent are not trained and they dont respect human being. This walmart has such a low standard.

This has to be one of the worst managed and staffed Walmarts in the region. My time is somewhat scarce, but I really like the prices at Wal-Mart, and this location is on my way to and from work, so I have taken to shopping there on my way to work to avoid the crowds. Lately, however, even at 6:30 this morning, there were 5-7 people in both lines that were open, some people with multiple baskets full top to bottom with groceries, and the cashiers are SO SLOW! As much as I love Wal-Mart for their prices, I can no longer afford the extra time it takes me to wait in line (I have spent 20+ minutes, which may not sound like much, but when Im doing nothing but waiting to hand over my money, it feels like an eternity!) Once the cashier (whose light was on BTW) told me that she was actually closed and would not be helping me, I left my basket, dairy, freshly ground coffee beans, and all and left the store. I will not be back to that location. Ever. I remember back before Sam Walton died, they had signs by the cash registers stating their guarantee to a fast checkout and that they would open up a new register if there were more than 3 people in any given line. Those days are LONG gone.
