I went to Yu Yu today for the first time in a while. I was happy to see they had expanded and now have a ton of space. My husband and I had a great time perusing the wide selection of noodles and sesame oils. When it came time to pay, we stood in line behind a couple who were speaking to the cashier in an Asian language (not sure, so dont want to guess the wrong one). It appeared that they had already paid but were having a dispute (again, I am just guessing by tone/body language). In any case, we put a few of our items down on the counter and decided to wander around the store again to pass the time. 10 or so minutes later, with no acknowledgment from the staff member present, the conversation was still going on. We ended up putting back our items and leaving. It just didnt seem like they wanted to deal with us. It is too bad because they do have a great selection of food.

I am from an Asian country and lived there my whole life up till moving here a few years ago, so the excuse of "oh its an Asian market, not Krogers, what do expect?" is really illogical to me because this place would have been shut down by the health department. There is no excuse to be selling expired and rancid products, not only fresh produce but the items on shelf too. They have a large selection of things but they seriously need help to manage their place better, and for this disorganized and smelly mess to be considered an accurate representation of what Asia has to offer, it is truly an embarrassment. They need better management and organization, I dont care as much about the manners or whatever, they seem like nice people, just not typically bubbly American; just please get the place cleaned up and sorted out.

Yu-Yu Asian Supermarket is not worth even one star, but in order to post a review, a star rating is necessary. Nonetheless, in addition to the overall complaints about Yu-Yu Asian Supermarket, it is imperative to point out the employees "extremely rudeness" towards people of a certain ethnicity. The other day (4/28/17), I witnessed the rudeness in which a cashier clerks spoke to a melanated women. By the way, it was not the first time witnessing a clerk speaking rudely to a melanated person. Accordingly, Asian people are said to be racist towards melanated people, however. Its not racism that Asians express towards melanated people, it is pure "HATE." In other words, Asians "HATE" melanated people, i.e. Black people. With that said, the store need to be boycotted by all people.

The people there are so rude and unfriendly that we will be searching elsewhere to shop for asian foods. Maybe getting a list together and going elsewhere. Just being compelled to write this review should be proof enough on how strongly I feel about how these people are. These people act like jerks. My friends and I who have the same thoughts on this place will be boycotting. Another thing. The receipts are not itemized, so you are left unsure as to what you are being charged for. We found a "mistake" twice. The second mistake we were unable to get a refund. (Nobody knew how to speak English-Yea right) Be careful of this place and check your receipt carefully. Or even better yet - Avoid Yu Yu market all together. They do not appreciate your business.

Im sorry, but I cannot agree with the other reviews on here, and I must attribute it to the typical prejudices of my fellow Unitedstatesians who regard themselves as the epicenter of the universe. I found employees very willing and anxious to assist me in finding specific items. The cashier wasnt overly friendly, but he was efficient and respectful of my purchases and courteous in every way. The selection is quite impressive, the vegetables are fresh, and the place seems well maintained. They seem to stay fairly busy, and offer some wonderful products that one would have difficulty finding anywhere else in a city as small as Lexington.

Big selection, no service. Do not expect any assistance from anyone. You will have to look for everything on your own, and they have not been terribly friendly to me. And the whole place smells like fish. But they have a lot of the Asian cooking things I need and cant find anywhere else, or they have them cheaper when I could find them elsewhere. And in terms of trying new things, they have an ENORMOUS selection of various Asian foodstuffs. Ultimately, those are the things that I care about, so I can put up with all the rest.

Or otherwise known as Boo Boo market is a place with weird smells. I went their with high expectations but came back with expired products. Half of the stuff I bought had expired not one but almost six months back. I was shocked to find out that some of the products expiry dates were written in Chinese. So if one need to get any info on the products better get a Chinese to English translation coz the customer service sucks too!

Its an Asian Supermarket! It isnt a Walmart. Though you expect customer service, you were undoubtedly expected of certain things- like manners which I am sure you failed to exhibit. The smell is bad but not overly horrendous, maybe unfamiliar to some. They do have a whole isle of noodles, though. From every country and refuge of noodle packs, cup-o-noodles and beyond, this store has taken stock.

a very typical and typical Asian market. It let me thought of the market behind my home in my motherland. Well somethings in Yuyu actually not fresh, and some food really suck (not in my flavor), but it is not a problem for a experienced (Chinese) customer. I give five star based on multiple consideration. If u really care about fresh and clean, I still recommend u go to the Lucky or Kroger.

Took some friends here because Dong Yang was closed on Tuesdays. Wish we had went somewhere else. A large selection of things, but as other reviewers stated, some things had past due expiration dates. I strayed from a few things because they didnt have expiration dates, so who knows how long they had been there. Bought some Popsicle there and they were only mildly freezer burnt. ha

The one star is only because this store had what I did not find elsewhere. If you expect friendly helpful staff then this is NOT the place to find it. The owner would rather talk on her cell phone than help a customer find anything. I will not be a patron of this store any longer! If you want friendly help, go to Seoul Market or Asian Market for your asian food needs.

If the asian markets in Washington state are at all typical, they are not exactly known for their cleanliness. But even the smelliest one in Everett (with a fish dept) didnt compare to Yu Yus general stench. Although it is relatively large for asian markets, the smell was so bad I literally had to go outside and wait for my (Thai) wife to finish shopping.

Great selection, decent prices, all ruined by extremely rude service. Cashier literally tossed items in the bag, threw the pen toward the receipt to be signed, and yelled at another person in the store during the entire checkout process. Was very tempted to just leave the items on the counter and walk out. Wont be going back :-(
