I have a red eared slider and I spent over 400$ getting it what it needed from this place the warming lamp I bought went out after about 3 weeks because the girl sold us to high of a wattage bulb for the lamp so I took it back and exchanged it.....at the time of the exchange the girl said there was nothing to be done just take it and go even exchange. So less then a month later the light goes out again now mind you Im doing everything the correct way that I was told. So my mother takes it up there and they give her all New bulb and lamp and tell her she doesnt need to pull up account even exchange again. Guess what hasnt even been six weeks and the lamp is out again. So I call up there to tell them and ask them if they can please replace it and the man tells me no because I have no receipt from the other two exchanges to prove that I even exchanged the other two. I told him that the girls who helped me told me there was no need to pull my account to just take it and it would be an even exchange. The man then tells me his words " Not saying your a liar, but you mean to tell me they just let you take something off the shelf and walk out?" So basically he was calling me a liar. I said yes and he said well sorry if you dont have Receipt for the two exchanges I cant help you...... He had a very condescending tone and was a total jerk. Will NEVER go back there I will be buying a new lamp I guess from petsmart. I do not recommend this place they dont know what there talking about when it comes to animals. They clearly dont train there employees on how to handle exchanges or how to speak to a customer. There loss because I spent good money with them.

We come here for our crickets and mice, for reptiles. We have bought 2 parakeets from here and our Indian Ringneck. The only thing is they dont have the pellets I buy for my conures, but I just shoot over to Petsmart for those. Im a bird person so thats what I notice most. At one point they had cockatiels, conures and our ringneck. Every time we went in there the staff had them out and were handling/interacting with them. I think thats great, compared to some places that just toss them in aquariums(??) and never touch them but to throw food at them. We visited Pickle (the ringneck) everytime we were there for a few months until we decided to buy him. Hes been a very sweet and healthy bird, as well as the 2 parakeets we bought from there. Theyre really polite and helpful, and they remember the pets we bought, which shows they care. I thought it should be mentioned since ive seen a couple shady places, as far as pet stores go. This place is exceptional.

Jacks Pets seems like a pretty decent store when you first walk in. Cages are kept clean, decent selection of animals, etc. It seemed like they took pretty good care of their animals, so I decided to get a Syrian hamster from them. Found out they pretty much leave the males in with the females, let them breed with whoever whenever they want and sell the profits; And a lot of them are highly inbred, with extreme health issues. The hamster I got died within four days of me owning her. I did everything right, left her alone for three days like they said. Returned her to the store to get a refund, and they only gave us a card for their store instead of the money back, so I got two Roborovski hamsters which /seemed/ like they were in better shape, but just like the Syrians, they let the males breed with whoever they wanted. Now, one of my Robos on the verge of death. I highly suggest not getting any animal from here; Not even the fish.

My daughter and her friend bought a rabbit for her daughter. We had the rabbit for almost a week with no problems. The rabbit was well taken care of, he had a big cage, water, treats, food, toys and plenty of love and exercise. Then he started biting at everyone for no reason, so my daughter wanted to take it back because she didnt want her daughter to get bit again. I called the manager and she said the return policy was 3 days. Well they werent told this when they bought him and they refused to refund my daughters friend the money. Wen he and my daughter returned the rabbit they were really rude and not helpful at all. Needless to say i will not be bying anything else from here again.

I went in two weeks ago and bought a two month old guinea pig and she has a lump on her throat which needs vet attention so Im gonna have to take her to the vet and shes gonna end up on medication. You shouldnt have to buy an animal and have to take it to the vet after two weeks of having it. Need to have a vet check them before you sell them that specializes in exotic pets. The store better hope and pray that she lives longer because Ive already lost one animal to cancer i dont need to lose another pet. I do not recommend buying from here. Cuz you will most likely end up with a sick animal. And i love the guinea pig i picked out. Its not right for her to suffer.

It was pretty fair a young lady helped me as much as she knew how. I bought a fish and decided it was to small to be with my fish. I exchanged it for another after I got it outside I realize scales were missing then I got it home and it seem sick so I kept it for 24 hours to see if it was an adjusting issue. Then I called and they said they would replace it but it died before I got to take it in. This store was a nice looking store but the gold fish tanks needed more taken care of. I seen a dead fish when I went in the second time in which should of alarmed me to not buy a fish there. I felt bad for the fish ad bought it anyways.

The care of their animals is well below par. Im a reptile owner myself and can recognize an unhappy reptile. Their ball python has no cover whatsoever so it just sits in the open stressing. Their baby bearded dragons are kept on sand which means theyll die before theyre a year old due to impaction. Their prices on reptile tanks are ridiculous. 80 dollars for a tank that cost 20 (if that much to make). Almost none of the tanks were marked with prices. Their tanks always look dirty and in severe need of cleaning. The price of their crickets also cant compare to other pet stores.

If I could give Jacks pets no stars, then I would. I went in to look at ferrets on a Monday evening and found that the workers were extremely rude and disrespectful. I was extremely disappointed with their service and I will definitely not be going back. I Do not recommend going here, I have never been treated so poorly as a customer.

Prices are way too high for most items there including the pets. Employees spent most of the time chatting with one another. I hadnt been at this location (formerly Jacks Pets) for more than a year--I wont visit here again.
