I was in search of a great place to get my eyebrows done and my friend (a PLATINUM member at Ulta) from the Overland Park area had highly recommended this specific Ulta. I trust her recommendation and even though it was a 30 minute drive for me, I was happy and excited to try this place out as I have shopped at ulta a million times but have never done a service there. We scheduled two brow bar appointments and the day of our appointment, my friend gets a call 15 minutes before the actual appointment to cancel and reschedule. At this point I was already on my way. I understand things come up so this went overlooked until our next rebooking. We had two appointments, one at 1:20 and the other at 2. As we walk in (one minute late), my friend receives a call asking yet again to CANCEL and reschedule. As we walked in, our specialist was Ivy, and she began to tell us that her hands were having an allergic reaction and that she needs to leave immediately. COMPLETELY understandable, however, there was no option to reschedule or have someone else take care of these two appointments that have already been rescheduled, and no apology for this. She said "my hands are swelling and I just gave you guys a call to reschedule, but since youre here if you wait 20 minutes Ill be right back Im going to go next door and get a Benadryl"My friend has to teach a lesson at 3 so we ask if someone else can take care of us and she just said wait and she will be back in 20. It was a very awkward confrontation to begin with and seeing as how this is the second time we have been pushed and received a late call it was a bit frustrating. We were waiting and looking around in the store when Amy approached us. She knew my friend very well and asked how things were going. We told her this was the second time we had been moved around and that we have a 3pm commitment. Amy immediately offered up her services. 30 minutes later I was standing next to my friend while Amy was doing her brows and Ivy walks back into the store. She approached her manager who is not too far away (within earshot)and she mumbles "SORRY they couldnt wait"You do NOT say those things on the sales floor. Go to the back and say it. You never know who can hear you and unfortunately I did. Eventually Ivy came to her station, looked at me and my friend and Amy and said "you guys couldnt wait, huh?" (In a nicer tone, yet coming across more condescending since I had heard her complaining to her manager). After that I had already made my decision, no, Ivy is NOT touching my face. I was also extremely uncomfortable not only with what she said and how she said it, but while Amy was still working on my friend at Ivys station, Ivy proceeded to "clean up" after Amy in very close proximity almost to assert some dominance that THAT was her work space. She was opening and slamming drawers grabbing cotton balls, moving the tweezers around all while I was standing there and all while Amy had her hands on my friends face working. Each of us had to scoot one way over or another because we were in her way. That was the overall feeling I was getting and as a customer that is absolutely unacceptable. I realize Ivy wanted to keep her customers but if you were having an allergic reaction, there is no shame in handing your customers to someone else, apologize for the inconvenience, or alert your manager so your business is taken care of. The manager didnt even have a clue Ivy had stepped out. The manager and Amy were great. They took care of my friends appointment for free, and I had decided to take my business elsewhere because I did not want Ivy to do my brows and if Amy had done them it would have been very awkward for everyone. I have worked in retail for ten years. I am very disappointed in how this was handled and the behavior exhibited. I received better and kinder service from the mall across the way. Which makes me VERY SAD because I love ulta and my friend had recommended this place. It was not a good experience for either of us and I wont be back

Alright fam, I usually do not care to write a review for a place even if the place/service was awful. I give people a lot of chances cause maybe they are having a bad day or something like that........however the 2 1/2 years I have been going there I almost have the same feeling every time I leave there. First of all I love the products they carry, high end and affordable prices and it is 5 minutes away from me. Now for the bad stuff: Almost every time I go there, a worker will awkwardly follow me around, usually not even greeting me, just peeking around the corner and walking away from me. Ive come close to straight up asking them if they think I am stealing or something. It is so strange that this is the main feeling I have when I am there since makeup makes me so happy. Ive told my friends about this and they say the same things about this location. So last year around my birthday they gave me a free gift without me even asking about it/knowing they did that, super cool right? Well I was in on my birthday and was expecting the same thing to happen. So this worker is checking me out and doesnt say anything and I just ask "Do you guys still do the birthday gift thing?" she straight up asks me if I got an email (okay not expecting to be treated like the queen of england or anything but at least say a fake "oh happy birthday" or even greet me like you are not annoyed by me). So I try looking for it and I cant find it and she tells me "Well we cant do much if you didnt get an email...sooo....". So Im standing there like "okay....well I can show you my ID and I have a card with you guys...." she doesnt say anything to me and just talks to another co worker and has her zero it out and says "Okay, well......just.....dont try using it again....." Like excuse you?? What are you trying to say????? Im not trying to be sketchy! I wish I would have said something to her, if it was a different person she said that to shed get her head chewed off (believe me, I told a few people this story and everyone said "why didnt you say anything?" its cause Im too nice! Okay?!) Instead I said "oh....okay....thanks" let me give her a break and say I know shes not the only one with an attitude problem cause its almost every time Im in there where a worker there gets paid to spy on and ignore me. Now I understand I could have had worse things happen to me, but like I said before......makeup makes me super happy and its pretty impressive to make me feel pissed off around makeup, fam. Peace Ulta. Get an overhaul on your customer service skills. Not going back.

Rude and arrogant, are the staff in this place.For some reason the girls who work here take it very serious and think that they have the most important job in the world when nobody even care if they are there or not.I mean how difficult it is to select a lipstick? Come on! You guys need to put your feet on earth and just be more kind to costumers. Sometimes I go there because I have no choice, these girls think they are superior to rest of us who came to buy items.You have to know one thing Everybody knows how to do dishes and doing makeup is the same thing, so please come on! Stop your circus.And the manager is not a good one starting from there.I brought my own brush so I could test a product and I was walking with it in my hands she said: " let me get this from you" at the same time she was pulling it from my left hand.Before that I was trying to find a color from bare minerals original foundation,and I could hear her horrible voice from the distance disturbing me, saying: " are you going to find the right color this time" like pretty much wanting to say you always come and test everything.Everytime I come to this store they make me feel very uncomfortable they fallow me everywhere like I am going to steal something ,I do not enjoy shopping here like I said before I go there because is the closest location.
