Be careful about buying fish from PetSmart! I recently moved to the area and needed to restock my 30 gallon freshwater tank. I decided to buy an angelfish and ten guppies which were on sale (probably because they were sick and dying). Within the first 48 hours the guppies started dropping like flies! Seriously, no joke, six out of the ten died in the first week! PetSmart has a replacement policy, so I took them back and got another six. Im sure you can guess what happened... Long story short, its four weeks later and I only have ONE of the guppies! Ive had my tank for years and tested my water so I know that is not the issue. In fact, Im certain it was some sort of fungal disease because they all developed white spots and fin rot before dying :-( Fortunately, the angelfish is healthy and the guppy is pregnant, so hopefully she will have babies. Im just glad the disease didnt spread to my angel or my rainbow shark. In summary, PetSmarts fish are in poor health, their products and supplies are all overpriced (Amazon is MUCH cheaper), and its a crap shoot with the staff. Some of the employees are friendly and knowledgeable, but others are just kids who dont care about their jobs (and I dont really blame them). I definitely wont be going back.

I would highly recommend this store if you are searching for knowledgeable, helpful, friendly service. They have a lot of choices available for your every need and if you have any questions the employees of Petsmart are more than happy to help. We have been struggling with our dogs food allergies and when I went to this store they helped me tremendously. I was able to ask for help in picking out the right dog food for our dog, and the manager was terrific in taking time and trouble to assist me. Shopping at Petsmart was one of those rare experiences where the employees actually knew what they were selling and did not act as if you were a nuisance instead of a customer. I would give them an A++.

Took our Airedale to there grooming salon, because of a flea problem. Not only did they treat the fleas they also trimmed his nails, cleaned his ears. The wonderful staff Emily talked to us in great detail about what was going on. She then asked us who groomed are dog. We named another grooming salon in the Dubuque metro area. She informed us the Slyvie was trained to groom specialty breeds like our Airedale. She even explained there hours and pricing, which was more comptetive than or other groomer. When our airedale needs its next grooming we will try Pet Smart Grooming to see how it goes. Our dog truly enjoyed getting all the attention and getting to shop afterward.

It was the worst experience of my life when I brought my moms dog in to be groomed I was told they would call me when she was done after three hours I called and the lady on the phone told me that she had been done for an hour and a half I asked why they didnt call me they said they did which was a lie then when we got the dog home all she would do is lay in her Kennel when my niece went to check on her she found out that her bow was wrapped around her ear four times cutting off the circulation so I will never step back in to petsmart if that is how they treat there animals

So we have been coming to this store for a year. Got the dogs shots and brought the records in last month. Went in today to be told he needed his rabies shot...uhm we brought you those records last time... Well we only have hia distemper in here. Then we go to the manager and she proceeds to tell us various ways WE could fix the problem. Uhm no this needs to be fixed. Apparently not their problem. Wth. We drive an hour to get here!! Just to be told everytime we come that we need shot records. Smh!!

Waited over 1 half hour for someone to help get a fish tried to flag down two employees. One told me the "fish girl" would be right there. The other looked and hid in an aisle TWICE. when the fish girl came she was very good at her job. Quickly getting fish in a safe manner. But then when I went to check out the cashier another employee and their friend were taking about where they scored weed for their upcoming party instead of checking me out. 1 star

We brought one of our Bernese Mountain Dogs into the salon at 7 a.m. We were greeted at the front door by assistant manager, JT, who could not have been any nicer. Had been greeted by the store manager the day before setting up the appointment. Had a very positive customer experience with her as well. We then met Jeni back in the salon area. What a wonderful experience all the way around. We will be back and we would recommend it to anyone!

Terrible store!!! just waited 15 minutes to get a fish no one would help! As i stood there waiting looking at all the dead and diseased fish wondering why i was back there again after the last visit was equally as bad! Would leave no stars if i could! VERY unfriendly and unhelpful staff!! I spend ALOT of money on fish & supplies in that store.... oh and not to mention thats where my dog USED to get groomed NEVER again!!!

Had two dogs groomed in the last couple of months -- a golden doodle and a border collie. Both dogs came home looking awesome and acting like puppies again! We love the personal messages about the dogs time in the salon, and our groomer stated she cant wait for our "sweet dogs" to come back. They did exactly as we asked, and well definitely take them back!

We have to give 5 stars to the staff at pet smart Dubuque. They were so helpful in finding the right kitten supplies for an orphan kitty and taught us how to feed it proper. They were so helpful in finding a home for this little girl too. Thank you pet smart!

I buy bulk feeder fish and petco which I normally purchase from was out so I stopped at pet smart. It is always hard to find staff to help at petsmart but the feeder fish are much bigger and cost less so it is worth the wait trying to find a worker.

Staff is friendly and helpful. However the checkout lines can be a bit on the slow side. They are a bit slow to call additional help when lines build up. However, the layout of the store is nice and it is easy to find what you are looking for.
