I was at G&M today and experienced horrible customer service. I spoke with Andrew yesterday about surrendering my 4 fish that we no longer wanted. After telling him the species, he agreed. I asked him if he was open the following day, which is today, and he said yes. I also requested some fish bags so that I could transport my fish to the store and he gave me two. When my husband and I arrived today with our fish, the three employees who were standing at the register talking only turned to stare at us. I asked if Andrew was there. The man behind the counter told us no. I told him that we spoke with Andrew yesterday and that he agreed to take our fish. The man said we would have to come back another time and laughed at us. I explained that Andrew knew we were coming in today and the man said that they were not going to accept our fish. My husband suggested giving Andrew a call and the man said he wasnt going to call him on his day off. So we were treated rudely, laughed at and inconvenienced, not to mention our fishs lives were jeopardized having to transport them for over an hour. They didnt even seem apologetic that at the very least there was a "misunderstanding". Totally unacceptable for a small business that I wanted to support.

For those to whom I recommended and highly regarded G&M Pet and Garden Center, I REVOKE MY STATEMENTS!! They foster terrible customer service and wholly lack a genuine of concern for their "pets." I am a former frequent patron of this local business, and regret spending as much money as I have there. I much prefer supporting a local business to supporting the big guys, but I cannot accept the way they have treated me. PetSmart it is! Unfortunately, they have a great selection of fish and supplies, and are the only place in Muncie that I can buy frozen food for my fish. The customer service has always been a complaint of mine, but I accepted it, knowing that they had the best selection and variety of pets in town. The woman who runs the cash register is smug and rude, treats even me (I shop there about once a week) like I am stupid. That is not appreciated. Their fish guy, Andrew has been very helpful in the past, but today was very rude as well. I stood next to him as he was counting crickets for about 30 seconds, until I had to say something to him to get his attention. What ever happened to good customer service?

I used to love this place when I was little, I enjoyed being in the presents of such amazing creatures. but as I got older I wanted a job there, after realizing how gross and unclean the animals and there tanks and cages were, I wanted to help and clean them, so they could get a better name for there store, but as I went to my enterview, the manager had asked my reasoning for wanting to work there, he simply denied me and said my service was not needed at the time. THIS STORE DOES NOT WANT HELP, EITHER THEY STOP SELLING ANIMALS OR BE SHUT DOWN.

This place has all sorts of animals. I have been going there ever since I was a little kid to look at and purchase pets from there. The people are very nice and helpful. There fish department is great too. Andrew is the man to talk to there. He helped me get my 55 gal. saltwater aquarium up and going. I also have a cat that I bought there about 2 years ago. Hes healthy, big, and great markings. There is no one in muncie that even comes close to this place. THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO GO FOR ANY PET NEEDS!!!!

The last time i was here i kind of stood around and waited for him to help. I was about 4 feet away from Andrew as he talked to people. They have a great selection of animals, but the pet side of this place seems kind of unorganized and dirty. I can understand why people say bad customer service. Im rating four due to the plant side of the store. Huge selection of plants. As for the pet side.. Maybe if Andrew didnt stand around on his phone, he could scrape some glass or pick the place up a bit.

Purchased a koi angelfish to add to my ESTABLISHED, HEALTHY aquarium. I acclimatized properly, and it died less than 12 hours later. The next day, one by one, my neon tetras began dying, and now my angels are dying as well. I should have taken the filthy tanks and sickly looking fish as a warning! Never buying fish from here again!! Advice to others - take your fish business elsewhere!!!

Awesome customer service. I had an issue with my fish and he helped me right away, I am usually in here once a week and I have noticed the tanks getting cleaner and cleaner. If you ever have any questions about fish Andrew or Brad wont hesitate to help. I would recommend this to everyone who wants to get fish, especially saltwater

This place is gross... terrible service. I went in multiple times trying to buy supplies for my aquarium, and Andrew (the fish guy) was rude, and unwilling to help. DONT SHOP HERE!!! Prices were ridiculous. I wanted to help out a local business, but the PetSmart down the road offered 1,000x better service, prices and products.

Purchase fish from this place many times had no issues and Andrew was very helpful also have made fish swaps several times and was pleased with the deals and Quality of fish i received. Would recommend them over any of the big fish retail stores. Not many real petshops left in the area anymore.

I really wanted to like this place, I like the idea of a local pet store, but the "pet store" part was disgusting, the fish tanks look like they havent been cleaned in years. I have no idea why they would even think about letting customers see it that way. Gross doesnt even begin to describe it.

The people werent rude to me, but they werent exactly appreciative of my business either. I, too, was trying to support a local business, but Ill stick with PetSmart in the future. They are much nicer and have more variety. I purchased a cat grass kit, and the seeds were missing.
