Be Aware of Kokomo Auto World Used Cars I have been working on trying to get resolution on a 98 Dodge Ram that broke down within three days of purchasing it from Kokomo Auto World (KAW) Used Car Department. By resolution, I mean a simple callback from management from this dealership. I bought this truck on August 23, 2013, used it over the weekend and on Monday morning the truck lost power and I had to have it towed to a shop. I found out that the Fuel pump was bad of which was approximately a $500 repair. (Do not think this was the only issue that I found wrong with it, but the only issue being addressed directly with KAW) I called the Used Car Sales Manager Phil Carmicheal and told him about the issue. I mentioned that I did sign an AS-IS agreement, but said the truck should not have broken down within 3 days or 200 miles and could his company help me out with $100-150 or whatever was reasonable- He responded and said let me see what I can do I WILL CALL YOU BACK. That was the last time I talked to him. I called, left a message and left a message with my salesman which amounted to not even a “sorry we can do nothing for you or A CALL BACK”. I sent a letter to Brian King (Service Manager) that sends out the customer service experience emails and also Greg Landwerlen the OWNER. Guess what I got in response-NOTHING. I also thought if they did not get the letters 2 weeks ago, I then faxed over letters to each of these gentlemen of which produced NOTHING IN RESPONSE. The mediator and or responder of these posted evaluations on this site, should not give the general public a false sense that Kokomo Auto World is Customer Service Oriented and try to belittle the poster of the their personal experiences at the dealership. To expound on this, the day I bought the truck over the phone. I filled out the online finance application and gave my card number for a $1,000.00 hold/deposit and that was the end of my communication with this dealership. I called four times to try and get details on the loan and even what my interest rate was on the loan. Crickets, everyone was in meetings but everyone was there telling me I had to give them my card to hold the truck because three people were coming to look at it. Fellow customers this was the epitome of a Used Car Department. If you decide to buy a car from here, like other posters- expect that if something happens you will receive no customer service after the point of purchase and you will not only have buyer’s remorse but rather dealer’s remorse. I encourage others to post similar situations to show that customers would like to at least receive a call back when a sales MANAGER says they will. Jon S. (Former Purchasing Customer)

If I could give NO stars I would. I bought a used car back in may from here from Hoffman, I told him multiple times that I was a mother to two small children and I drive about 45 mins back and forth to work out of town daily so I needed something reliable, I was assured the car I was going to purchase was. It was okay for a couple weeks, but then the problems began..my power steering will go out while driving the car, the windshield wipers stopped working, there is a burning plastic smell, and then the other day as I was leaving work the engine was acting funny and it said "Engine Power Reduced" "Service Traction" I had to drive all the way home on the highway with my hazard lights on because when taking off from a stop light it wouldnt accelerate past 20mph for about 10 minutes, then I couldnt get it going any faster than 40mph the whole time. This car is a death trap waiting to happen, I have NEVER in my entire life bought a used car with this many problems!! I was so happy to because it was paid in full, no car payment nothing. RIDICULOUS! Anything for some money in your pockets huh Kokomo Auto World?!? Who cares about your customers families and their safety? right? Oh and dont let them talk you into purchasing an extended warranty because NOTHING is ever covered!! No matter how good it sounds!

Took my Honda Accord for service and after "a lot of unneccary" work done and almost $2000.00 the problem that I took it for was not fixed. They wanted another over $1000.00 to fix the problem. After the service guy called me said they will take some more amount off discounted price they gave me, I took the car back to be fixed. When I got the bill, it was more than what he originally said he would take off. I did not pay, and asked him to look into it. Twice I called to pay the bill afte they give me a reasonable price. After waiting for 2 weeks, the manager called me. Was extremely "RUDE", threatened to take my car away if I didnt pay. Well goodness, I never denied to pay for it. Over all, my experience was terrible. The car was not finished on time. Did not give what they offered. I believe after over $2500.00, they totally ripped me off. Did the work that did not need to be done and charged me an arm and a leg. VERY UNPREOFESSIONAL ATTITUDE on the behalf of the Service Manager.

I purchased a 2010 Honda Cross Tour for my wife. She adores this car and it is so much better than the Buick LaCross for the same money with much more room, great ride and drive and QUALITY. Steven Voorhis was my man on this sale and is a great young man to work with. Next I traded my Honda Accord lease of 1 year for a 2010 Toyota Prius. I shopped the area and determined an optimal price offer this dealer matched. I wanted to buy from them because Steven Voorhis helped me consider the Prius. This has been a real joy as this car is fantastic. How can one beat the Prius deal if one wants economy? I leased the vehicle as I drive 12K a year. If someone drives over 15K a year and now gets 25mpg lets say 20K a year average driving they are saving $1000 a year on gas or $4000 in 4 years. At the end of those 4 years the car will be worth $12000 at least so with the gas savings the total cost to driive a new Prius is $125 a month and try to beat that one anywhere.

Customer Service could of been way better. They say theyre highly reputable, but thats a lie. Also, its probably not best to mock customers concerns when theyre trying to purchase a car. We were ready to walk away from the contract signing when the finance person made disrespectful remarks about something we were concerned about. Their employees need to learn respect and stop treating "concerned" customers like theyre stupid. Im not even going to bother recommending this dealership to anyone. They also lied about the LIfetime Powertrain Warranty. During the sales pitch, they made it seem as if ALL you need to do is be sure to do all oil changes there. Its more like you also have to get your tires rotated there if you want to keep that warranty valid. I wish they would of mentioned this tidbit during the sales pitch, since it is bit of an easily pricey thing just to maintain a warranty.
