I have dealt with Dock Bros. on several occasions. At first, both the owner and his nephew (whom usually handle day to day ops) seemed very eager to help. Clearly when someone is needing to use these types of services, the oldest form of lending and borrowing, the person has probably seen better days.... As I mentioned, at first the staff seemed very eager and understanding to help out. However it did not take long for there "true colors" to show. Now, obviously this outfit, like all others, are in it to make a profit- and profit is not a dirty word. I had / have brought in many items of value, needing to borrow money against the item(s), this is how it works. It was clear early on, the staff here was only interested in taking things in on pawn, not based on the actual value of the items, but rather based on their personal likes and dislikes. One example, I brought in a very valuable set of golf clubs (a brand new set of Pings), worth well over $1,000, I was looking to borrow $100 against this item.... I was told- No, we do not deal in Golf Clubs. I thought the idea was to put up something of greater value for collateral.?,? Another instance, I brought in a very expensive set of Mac Tools impact wrenches, once again asking to borrow a fraction of what the items are worth. I was told No, "we already have a set of these on Pawn". WTF?? I have also had the not so pleasant experience of calling ahead (before my 25 mile one way trip), on multiple occasions, to confirm what I was bringing in, and what I was looking to borrow against the item... after being told "yes, no problem come on in" only to be told once I arrived, "sorry we cannot help you". In summary, it seems this operation is consistent with my preconceived notion(before needing to deal with pawn shops), that most if not all Pawn Shops and the people whom operate them are of lower caliber and of questionable character to put it mildly. After reading a few reviews online before going to Dock Bros. it seemed as though most folks had positive things to say about them. I have begun to wander if perhaps, Dock Bros. did not post those "positive" remarks themselves or had someone they know do it for them.?.? It has clearly been my experience this organization misrepresents themselves and could care less about there customers or potential customers. If my posting here can save someone the headache and fuel expenses I have incurred than it will all be worth for me I reckon. - One more Dock Brothers unsatisfied customer.

I went to Dock Brothers looking for a white gold, diamond ring after spending about a month looking around jewelry stores in Indy. The moment I walked in and saw the selection of vintage guitars it was pretty clear they didnt sell junk. Their jewelry selection was the same way and far better than similar places Id looked. Within 5 minutes, I found exactly what I had been searching for at a great price. They were super nice and and easy to work with and at no time did I feel like they were tying to scam me. I paid for the ring and they had it resized and professionally cleaned in a matter of days. When I picked it up and they opened the box for me, the ring far exceeded my expectations. It was absolutely beautiful. I would not hesitate for a second to do business with Dock Brothers again.

Great shop if you ever need to pawn anything. We were in a bind, and I had to pawn my wedding ring. They were really nice and understanding about my reservations, and didnt treat me like I was an idiot like they do when you walk into those "big chain" pawn shops. Quick transaction as well. The only thing that I could say Id like a to be different would be the hours. Closing at 5, its hard to get off of work and downtown in time to make it to get your loan and/or get your stuff back. I got there at probably 5 minutes til 5 and they didnt act like it was a huge deal that I was cutting it close though, so that was nice!

Horrible. Straight rude the store closes at 4pm and i get there at 3:40 i didnt even want to sell my jewlery to them just wanted an appraisal. I really wanted him to give me value of a diamond and because it was in silver he ignored any questions i had and told me ghetto pawn on 38th street. And then i said well sir i really just wanted to know about the diamonds. He came back with yes there real but to small??? Funny its at least 1ct and i didnt even show him so how did he see???? Horrible people skills. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Take your cotton outta your ear and listen #rude #probablyanazi

I had never pawned anything before but I was in a tight situation and I needed the money immediately. I hated to leave my engagement ring (it was 11 carat) but Pete- the owner - explained the process to me and assured me that my valuables would be kept at the bank safe deposit box in the back. After doing the paperwork, he immediately gave me the cash in the same day that I brought it to him. When I was late with my payments he worked with me so I could get my ring back. I love this shop; they are polite and personal; I would recommend them to everyone, especially first time pawners!

I really like this shop because it is family run and they are all very honest, friendly, and fair. Whenever I need to speak to someone, they are always on site and happy to answer any questions I have. I have pawned a few things here and the owners always made me feel comfortable, never judging me or my situation. I have made late payments several times, and they always accommodate me because they understand my hardships. I really wouldnt trust anyone else with my valuables. This is not your average pawn shop. They really have higher standards.

I have been stationed around the nation and have dealt with many pawn shops over the last few decades, many of which were amazing; however, Dock Brothers has truly impressed me above all the others. The family owned business is dedicated to serving their customers. They are friendly and very courteous. They also help people out instead of ripping them off. I have bought from there and will continue to be one of their customers. By the way, they have amazing bargains as I was able to buy a Les Paul via layaway.

I recently went to Dock Brothers to pawn my engagement ring and in no time I was in and out with my cash. Unlike a chain store they are family oriented and really care about their customers. The staff there was great especially Alex. He answered all of my questions and explained how everything works.This company is trustworthy and they pay very good money. I couldnt of asked for a better experience and I will be using them again.

I had never pawned anything before so I wasnt really sure what to expect. They were very professional and treated me with respect. My wife and I were going through a difficult time and didnt really have any other options. Dock Brothers gave me a decent price and I was kind of surprised that they actually worked with me to let me buy back the necklace and earrings I pawned. Highly recommended.
