If you are a customer of Computers Plus, and have their service plan, BEWARE!!!!! I have the Computers Plus Lifetime Service Plan on my Apple laptop and boy was that a HUGE MISTAKE!!!! Have they told your computer isnt worth fixing? Have they suggested you purchase something new? Have they told you theyd buy your "old" computer? Make sure you get a second opinion if this has happened to you!!!!! Dont take their word for it. Get a second opinion!! I recently took my laptop into their store and was told it would cost as much to fix, as it would to buy new. I took their word for it and did just that. I purchased a new computer from them. After making the purchase, Computers Plus offered to purchase my "bad" laptop.... interesting!!! Their offer to buy my 3 year old Apple laptop made me suspicious. I then took my "old" laptop for a second opinion. The other authorized service provider fixed my laptop with a part that was on recall. Needless to say, I was shocked!!! Were they, Computers Plus, going to buy my "old" laptop, replace the recalled part, and resell it???? What am I to think? When I confronted the store, they deny this and blame Apple for this!!! How is this Apples fault???? What is also bothersome to me, is if Computers Plus were on the up and up, and it were Apples fault, why arent they working with Apple to fix this problem so this doesnt happen to the next customer? Computers Plus has taken NO ownership in this situation and seem very MAD at the other service providers that I found who fixed my laptop for NOTHING (it was a recall)! They are more interested in retaliating against the providers that fixed my laptop. I realize that everyone makes mistakes, but how can you TRUST a company that wont own their own mistake and do what it takes to regain the customers trust and business. Now, Im sitting here with a lifetime service contract from them, that Ill NEVER use because I dont trust their work!!!!!!!! I cant believe they are refusing to give me a refund on this service plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like I said before...BEWARE and please think back to your experiences there and maybe you should consider taking a computer of yours somewhere else for a second opinion.

Cabbed to the store, asked for a 6-pin to 8-pin PCIe power adapter or Molex to 8-pin PCIe power adapter, they found one and sold it to me. Cabbed home. After getting home, discovered that theyd sold me something else (EPS48ADAP). I called the store to address the problem and their first response was that Id have to bring it in. Huh? $30 cab fare to get an $8 refund? Seemed a losing proposition, but the, um, gentleman who handled the call didnt see it that way. After spending far too long listening to him tell me why it wasnt their problem, he did say that he would give me store credit for the $30. I explained that I couldnt use store credit unless he also sold groceries as thats what budget the money would be coming from and I had no plans to buy from his store again anyway. I suggested that he might want to refrain from representing his store as being staffed by experts if they couldnt tell a PCIe power connector from a motherboard power connector and got a few minutes of push back about how amazingly wonderful they all were and how unreasonable I was being. Eventually he asked me what I wanted to make it right. I told him that I wanted them to send someone over with the right part and Id let them have the wrong one. His response was that he couldnt spare anyone for the (likely) 15 minutes it would have taken to do that. I pointed out that hed spent more time than that telling me all the things they *couldnt* do to fix this and how wonderful they were for offering and how knowledgeable they were about their products and the industry in general. That did not go over well. Bottom line, do the research yourself online. Order the parts from Amazon or Newegg. You cant trust these folks to back up their "expertise" with any sort of integrity. They might get it right. They might not. But if they dont, youre on the hook for fixing it. If something as simple as pulling a part for a customer can go this wrong, I hate to think what they could do to a more complex problem. This one cost me $30 in cab fare and an $8 part I cant use (and wont spend another $30 to return). Youve been warned.

Recently I had a p[roblem. My thumb drive wasnt working. The information on it was very important to me. I am a writer and all of my files were stored on that drive. I took it to the Geek Squad, but they said that nothing could be done. I was devastated. I went into Office Depot to pick up a few items and one of the associates there asked me why I was so depressed and I told her. She suggested that I take my thumb drive to a place called Computers Plus on Green River Road in Evansville. I didnt know much about them, but I told her that if the world reknowned Geek Squad couldnt fix it, then what could computers plus really do. She told me that it was worth a shot anyway. So, without any hope that they could actually do anything, I went into Computers Plus after I left Office Depot. The people there were friendly and immediately waited on me. One of the Techs looked at the drive, shook it, then said hed be back in a few minutes. The lovely lady that waited on me told me not to worry, because there wasnt much that they couldnt fix. I paced the floor for five minutes. It was the longest five minutes of my life. That thumb drive was insured for $20,000.00 because of the information on it, but I didn tell anyone that. The tech came back with my thumb dirve in pieces, smiling and said, "I just need to sauder a piece or two. If you have a new thumb drive I can just copy your files to that and youre good to go. See, no worries". I was over the moon!!!!! I couldnt believe it. I am now a DIE HARD Computers Plus FAN!!! They did what no one else could do. I LOVE THE GUYS AT Computers Plus and will only deal with them from here on out!! By the way, you can read some of the information that was contained on that drive in the Fall of 2012 when Conversations of a Lifetime hits bookstores and an ipad near you. You will also be able to log on and follow the web series via You Tube. THATS what Computers Plus saved for me! Thank you Sincerely Ms. Jessica Angelique :)

I was told to use Computers Plus for repairs because of excellent customer service. After this first experience, I will never go there again. Because I am still so livid over the rudeness, further damage to my laptop, and lost property, I will list... 1. Hinge broke on my laptop (made of plastic). When I took it in, the man stated that I would be CALLED the next day with an estimate. (I looked at my drop-off receipt as well just now, and it does state, in writing, that I was to be CALLED). 2. I was not called the next day. I was not called the next morning. I called and asked, and the man replied that I had been TEXTED the day before. I said that I had never received a text, and he simply stated that yes I had, according to their records. 3. He then states, "It doesnt matter anyway, because we texted to say that we cant get the hardware to fix the laptop. So there.". And yes, he did say "so there". Strike 1. After thanking him for his friendliness, I told him I would pick up my computer today. 4. When I picked up my computer, it was missing the protective cover I carry it in, EVERYWHERE. When I asked for it, I was informed that I didnt leave that with them. So, strike 2 for losing my cover. 5. I took the laptop to another computer store, who, by the way, will fix it and were incredibly nice. However, upon opening the laptop slightly to demonstrate the issue, I realized that Computers Plus had removed the OTHER hinge...resulting in the entire screen being detached from the computer. Strike 3. I plan on writing this review anywhere and everywhere. And I plan on telling as many people as possible to never go to Computers Plus.
