Alright this place is the worst coffee shop in CU. WAIT you say I love this place! I get it. Its a cool space and they make alright coffee. HOWEVER, there are better places for whatever you want out of a coffee place. Kopi is a cooler place and has a better vibe. The Flying Machine coffee place in downtown Urbana has WAY better coffee. (Bonus: Pizza M is off the hook) Espresso Royale is all over the place and has faster service. Every other place is cheaper by a mile. Finally the service at this place is the worst. Just half a hour ago I walked in to get a coffee for my walk back home. I waited at the counter for a good 5 minutes while one employee chatted with a woman and the other stacked cups. I coughed, said excuse me nothin playing they were determined to ignore me. I realized after leaving without my coffee that this was about par for the course here. The staff is frankly terrible. The coffee is pretty uneven and about half the time you get the feeling your imposing on the staffs free time. Now that I can go to Flying Machine in Urbana or Kopi in Champaign there is no earthly reason I have to feel crummy every time I want a espresso. Goodby Paradiso you are the worst coffee place in CU and I dont have to put up with you any more.

When you walk into this shop you get a much different feel from the other coffee shops on and around campus. The baristas are great and actually know quite a bit about the coffee they serve and how to make drinks correctly. The desserts and sandwiches/paninis are great. I strongly recommend trying the tiramisu, it goes wonderfully with a pour over. The only downside to having very knowledgeable baristas and delicious desserts is that its a bit pricey compared to the other shops around. However the quality and knowledge of the baristas, desserts, and coffee make up for this. Note: Sometimes the lattes are just warm, so if you like your lattes hot make sure to ask for extra hot.

Just went with some friends and we had a mocha, caramel latte, and a coffee with toffee nut syrup.. the mocha tasted like the milk was burned and there wasnt any caramel in the latte that we could taste at all. It also took about 5-8min for the hot chocolate, and it wasnt busy.. the atmosphere is really cool and its a popular study place, but I would probably bring my own coffee or drinks next time. Clean place, friendly staff, not that great coffee/espresso drinks.

Caffe Paradiso is a good coffee shop. They have Intelligentsia coffee, a friendly atmosfere, and good decor. I enjoying spending there a few hours every week to work or to read. On the downside, its quite pricey compared to other coffee shops, and their selection of pastries tends to fluctuate significantly during the day. They have pretty much nothing in the early morning, and they often run out in the late afternoon.

The coffee is outstanding. Excellent atmosphere to hang out or to work. Interesting mixed crowd from all over campus, but can be busy around lunch time. Plus they have good taste in art which is displayed on the walls and for sale - it definitely adds to the experience. Smoke was mentioned by another reviewer but it is not an issue any more - Paradiso is now non-smoking, as are all public places in Urbana.

Great internet cafe. They have free internet, places to plug your laptop in if needed, and super-friendly helpful staff. Price is quite reasonable as well. They also have awesome bathroom art. Well, at least in the guys bathroom; Im not sure about the girls bathroom. Food is very good, and they offer a good variety of sandwiches and coffee, among other things. Im happy I found this place!

A good selection of standard espresso drinks that are typically decently well made compared to the other options in town, but a nice if café-priced meal selection including vegetarian options. Personally I like their teas the best with some of the best herbal teas in town (they extend beyond the standard chamomile, roobois, and lemon ginger that are common)

Caffe Paradiso is "so Urbana". From the furniture to the art, and I would even argue the clientele and staff, Paradiso is the local, non-commercial coffee spot on the edge of University campus. You can catch plenty of people working here or just taking a lazy break and getting re-caffeinated.

The staff ruin this place. The entire time I was there the barista had a really bitchy look on her face and she became visibly pissed off at least once a minute because shed call a drink order that was ready and no one would pick it up right away. The food kinda sucked too.

I love coming here to study and enjoy coffee or tea in this very student-friendly coffee shop. The prices arent absurd, but the drinks are absurdly good! I love the black China Breakfast tea. Cant go wrong with Paradiso!

Great coffee and atmosphere. Usually very crowded with students. If you are trying to get work done it has wifi, however very limited outlets. The service and baristas are great.
