Their parts dept guys are great. Their service dept sucks bad. I took my 99 road king in to have them get it running smoother and they said all they could do is install a different map. Evidently even though they are a dealer service dept they are still afraid of the magnetti merrelli fuel injection. After they installed the new map it ran much worse and they told me its not their fault. I asked for a refund they said they dont work for free. I asked to have the original map reinstalled they said they didnt have it so I was out of luck. Kenny Kegel made a sad attempt to make it right by giving me a decent deal on a new front tire. I drove away and the front end felt like it was going to vibrate off, they installed the tire 180 degrees off which made it out of balance ( so much for the $ 2000 balancing machine ) . So they spun the tire on the rim and they pinched the inner tube causing a hole. I took it for another test drive and by the time I got to the highway it had 4 lbs of air and at 75 mph with many cars and tractor trailers all around me if I hit the front break a bit too hard I could have lost control and BYE BYE. I took it back trying to keep my composer and they had the nerve to tell me there was a piece of rust that cut the tube, standard procedure would be to clean the rim the first time they put the tire on , so I think bullshit runs deep when they treat you like an idiot. Im not just an unhappy consumer they actually put my life on the line ! All be aware of the service department at kegels in Rockford Illinois.

Was told I was not being charged for my wrecked bike to be there. My insurance told me they were so I went back in to service to ask. His response was"we are not charging you, we are charging the insurance company." When I said that wasnt right he told me he would only charge me $5 a day. So, insurance calls and let me know that they were charged $40 a day. To me, I hate liars. Called kegels I think I talked to a mark? Telling me how things were changing there and they let these people go. Then he tells me that it didnt cost me anything. It cost the insurance company. NOT THE POINT! You lied to me. Then you try to throw Haas towing under the bus by saying they charged $500 to tow it. Theyre crooks too. But I didnt call haas, you did. I was done at this point and knew this guy was like a car salesman from the 70s. Really hope hes not the one in charge. So, the one chance I had to ever do business with them, I told him to have Johnny call me. Big surprise, no call back. Im done. I am in the market for a Harley and it will not be from kegels. I was warned and did not listen. I will go every thing in my power to spread the word. Thanks Mark or whoever the hell you were. All I heard was you blaming everyone else, caught you in one lie and it didnt even phase you. I was in the auto business for quite a while and you would have been classified as a used car salesman, a wolf in sheeps clothing. Good luck making it work with such horrible ethics.

Purchased my 2008 FXD from them, thought the sales department was excellant. Mark and Tony were very helpful. Had them powder coat two covers and the bike has leaked ever since. I just brought my bike in for the full service and it has been sitting there for 2 weeks. Service communication was awefull, tried charging me for the leaking primaries, blaming it on poor powder coating job, when I informed them that they did the work and its been there four times prior for repair, the reply was OH???. Needless to say a week later, went to pick up my bike and waited 45 minutes for them to tell me that they broke something on the ignition. $470 bill for a 10,000 mile service. Told me it would be three days to repair, called to check on it today (Day 4) got attitude about it being just a sticker and that parts take 3-5 days. Why couldnt they over night it?? I have missed two weeks of great weather, and now the forcast is rain for the next week straight....Terrible terrible service. I will be making the drive to Wisconsin from now on for service. For the record, I went from being their biggest fan, to horrribly disspointed...

Quick Shout-Out to Kegel Harley Davidson in Rockford, Illinois I had a wonderful experience with Eric (parts department) and Allen yesterday, Sunday, July 5, 2015 after my 2014 Street Glide Special lost both the heel and toe shifter in Southern Wisconsin. I jury rigged a shifter and road back to Kegel Harley Davidson about 1:00pm. Eric and Allen assessed the situation (my bike was loaded as I was riding and planning a little fishing), gathered the necessary parts and within 90 minutes had me back on the road. How perfect. While waiting I hit the Diner within Kegel Harley Davidson and had one of the best burgers (OK, it was a ½ lb. double burger) I have had in a long while. Truly a destination ride for the burgers. I had a wonderful experience with Kegel Harley Davidson and would highly recommend them. The way everybody treated me is a reflection of quality management and training…and their love of motorcycles and those who ride them.

Harley-Davidson Dealerships and good ol fashion diners or restaurants is the greatest part of being a Trucker. Ive been to my favorite fair share of Harley dealerships collecting shirts that define my travels. This dealership is definitely a first and forever favorite. The diner is perfect! Saddle up on a Harley saddle at the counter while you look at a Buell racing bike prominently displayed showcasing pictures directly above with customers and their prideful rides. I had a simple flat-iron burger with a fresh full potato of homemade cut fries. Grilled bun with a real red slice of tomato. Wow! It was the perfect meal after a long day that NEVER compares to McDonalds or Subway! Show this diner some love because places like this are becoming cherished memories younger generations do not get to enjoy as we have been honored to have in our lives. Thank you for the great customer service and experience!

I want to take time to thank the entire staff at Kegel Harley Davidson for getting me the new bike I wanted a new 17 Ultra Classic. Karl was more than fair in my trade allowance of my soon to be 12 year old bike. Johnny Alex my 5 star salesman found the bike in the color I wanted and had it for me to see the very next day. Eric in parts helped me in selecting the "fun chrome accessories" to personalize the bike for me. Mark helped with installing some of them and Allen Matlock was helpful in tweaking a few things too. When all said and done Johnny gave me a great demonstration of the navigation system and all of the new features. This makes the 4th new Harley Ive purchased here and there is nothing better than buying from Kegel Harley Davidson. Starting the new bike and letting out the clutch for the first ride is something you all should do from these guys!
