Decent things can be found here. A bit hit and miss, but I have managed to get some decent things here. Theyve gotten overpriced as the entire Goodwill name has, but this place is not as terrible as others. As one other review mentioned; There is a nasty rude re-seller that frequents this store. Hes very arrogant and very annoying, and he will follow you around. As the other person also commented that hell say to anything good "Thats mine", just ignore him, unless its in his cart, or his hands, I have grabbed it and said tough luck, not all of us are eBay sellers. The guy is a jerk, dont let him ruin your day and shopping experience. I dont. Good deals can be found here. Worth looking at.

I go to Goodwill McHenry almost every time I go to McHenry for shopping. Sometimes theres a ton of stuff to look at, other times it is sort of picked over - but, hey, its a charity thrift store and how much stuff they have and what they have is going to depend on what is donated to them. I always manage to find something to buy, even if it is just a coffee cup, sweatshirt, knickknack, basket or baking dish. I take it home, use it for a while, wash it and then donate it back. If you want new and guaranteed availability, go to Wally World or Kohls. Otherwise you can find lots of perfectly usable merchandise for a fraction of the price at Goodwill and your money will help Goodwill to boot.

This store needs some management to prevent the few employees that take the "good" out of Goodwill. There are almost daily occasions where employees are taking the really nice donation items and putting to the side for friends and relatives to pick up at a later time. These employees and their friends or relatives are then flea marketing, and/or eBaying these items for a pretty good profit. I have seen this, reported this, and it is still going on. Taking donated items and doing this is flat out stealing for profit and I coined a new term for these folks, "Goodwill Pirates"! Shame on you employees of Goodwill, you should be publicly shamed on social media!

Goodwill McHenry is typically picked over due to high customer traffic. I skip it in favor of other local thrift stores like Salvation Army or Sparrows Nest. More importantly, management here is truly awful. Their employee turn-over rate is high and morale is lower than dirt. I dont give them any of my business just because I feel so sorry for the folks that work there. Just to be clear, I have worked at several Goodwill branches. McHenry is, luckily, an exception to an otherwise wonderful company.

Over priced on many things, some of the staff is very nice but some of the staff should not be employed anywhere This place just like most Goodwill Stores are way over priced on the items they have GoodWill now sends there items to a hub that auctions the beeper stuff online I wonder how much of those community donations make it back into the community that donated them I suspect once sent to the hub the money made is most likely is sent to HQ and used elsewhere then the community it originated.

People working there stealing all the good stuff and raising the prices on the junk to make up for it. They price items cheap and then have their friends and family come in to purchase items after they place the items on the floor in hidden places. I have seen this on a few occasions.

was double charged for an item and was treated very rude by cashier I have been going there since they opened never had a problems everyone was very nice thats what you get when you leave a bunch of teenagers alone in the store i will think twice before i go back :(

I love this stores location & mission for creating jobs, scholarships, and reusing community items. Goodwill stretches my family budget, I get the best kids & home decor items here. This store is cleaner than others & employees are friendly.

Prices have gone up significantly. For price they charge on used stuff they get for free, you could go buy it new at the store.
