Updated review: &&& The first car that I bought from Acura of Libertyville (four months ago) was a 2008 Acura MDX. Then, about two months ago, I went back so that I could buy a second car. In both cases, I worked with Mike Wilson (General Sales Manager) and Stanford Kim (Sales). On the second visit, I ended up buying a 2008 Toyota Highlander with about 41,000 miles on it. Mike and Stan were both very professional and kind. I felt like they appreciated me as a customer. I really like both vehicles, but I have to admit, I find the Acura to be a more impressive and “solid/stable” vehicle. It just has a really confident feel to it. The dealership has been great. I did not have any down payment, except for two trade ins. They took the trade ins and gave me a fair price for each. The dealership is modern and technology friendly. I have to buy a third “used car” for my daughter in a few months. I will go back there for sure. Also, they had a new 2015 Acura MDX on the showroom floor. It was all black with black leather seats. I know I could not afford it right now, but I consider that car to be automotive perfection. It was truly stunning. I hope to buy a car like that some day. &&& I recently bought a used SUV (2008 Acura MDX) from Acura of Libertyville. I worked with Mike Wilson (General Sales Manager) and Stanford Kim (Sales). Both people were trustworthy and really easy to work with. They treated me like I was an appreciated customer. I really enjoyed their level of professional support. I was given a super good interest rate for the car that I bought, which is not as likely for a used car. Stanford helped my wife, and my daughter to learn how to use the electronics in the vehicle. He was really patient and answered a ton of questions. I also did not have any down payment for the car. I just had my driver’s license, and no bank statements or anything like that. They ran my credit and made everything super easy. I really felt relieved that they were able to work with my situation, and make it easy for me to walk out of there with the car that I wanted. I live in Glen Ellyn and even though Libertyville is about one hour away, I have told my friends that it is worth it to drive all the way up there to get a new or used car. Then, a few weeks later I was invited to a “New Owner’s clinic”. They reviewed all of their services there, and again I was very impressed. For example, their auto body shop does about ten times more business than they did a few years ago. That is what customers want- we want high volume expertise and super knowledgeable service, for an affordable price. All of this relates to the buying experience. The car itself is awesome as well. In my opinion, an Acura is as good as a BMW or Mercedes, but for a lower price. The MDX is very pleasant to drive and the engine is very powerful – you would not even realize it until you feel the power when accelerating quickly. It rides very well and I feel like I have good control over the vehicle. The MDX feels strong and secure. It is wide and stable. I really like it. The dealership is also doing a bunch of things with technology- for example I can make a service appointment, or look up my service history online- on a smart phone or tablet, for example. The dealership is doing what is needed to set themselves up for success and happy customers. I have nothing bad to say about them at all. I am looking forward to going back there for my next car. Mike and Stanford are world class professionals that sell a world class Acura brand. It is a good combination for a pleasant buying experience. I would recommend them in an instant.

My wife and I had, hands-down, the best car buying experience we have ever had with Stanford Kim at Acura of Libertyville! We were looking for a used van of a particular make and model that they happened to have on their lot. Our plan was to shop around at several different dealerships, and before coming to Acura of Libertyville we had just come from looking at a similar van with another dealer. After seeing the quality of the van and experiencing the white glove treatment we were given by the staff at Acura of Libertyville, we knew we didn’t have to look any further! Not only was the vehicle in superb mechanical condition, the personal service we received was second to none. We felt Stanford took personal interest in not only showing us the van and answering any questions we had, but practically bent over backwards to help us with our two young children, who are both under two years old. Stanford was never pushy, and went out of his way to make sure my wife and I could talk privately about our car buying decision. We were provided the entire vehicle history without having to ask for it, including a list of repairs their technicians had made to the van before it came into their possession. Also, the route we were taken on for a test drive wasn’t a short round-the-block treatment you might receive at other dealers, but was long enough to get a decent feel for the vehicle and its performance. We planned on financing the van through our bank, which would have required coming back another day to pick up the vehicle. Instead, Stanford helped us set up things so we could still finance through our bank, but could also drive away with the van that same day. To show you how committed Acura of Libertyville is to quality and honesty, while we were signing the papers to buy the van it was discovered there was a recall related to the spare tire that had previously gone unnoticed. Rather than cover it up or not say anything, they immediately took the van down the road to the a manufacturer certified shop to have the defect repaired while we finished the paperwork. The icing on the cake was when they filled the gas tank, washed, and waxed the vehicle in preparation for us to drive it home. Now that is how to tell a customer thank you! My wife and I are so grateful for the customer service we received. I was not expecting to find a car dealership so committed to going above and beyond, but now I now with certainty that can be said of Acura of Libertyville. Thank you, and thank you Stanford for your patience, humor, and help!

I purchased a new RDX on 12/30. This was my third Acura, with the first two purchased at Acura of Palatine, part of the Rohrman group of dealers. I had a very bad experience with their service department and wanted to give another dealer a shot at earning my business. To set the stage, Im a 50 year old woman who brought two female friends with me (one who is great at negotiating car deals and who is also in a wheelchair) and another who is great at research who came armed with data and her iPad. I mention these specific details because in the world of car sales, it would have been very easy to write off this unlikely trio of women, not take us seriously or treat us with less respect. My primary salesman was Adam Hoth, a young but experienced salesman though new to Acura and by the end we also had Craig Floress involved in closing the deal. I cant say enough positive things about both of them. They treated us exceptionally well. Adam spent all the time we needed in the car itself (lots to go over with the tech package, didnt jerk us around with the offer or the negotiating process. I wont go into inappropriate details here, but I can say that I left very satisfied and can say with confidence that not only did I get a great deal and a great car, But managed to do so without a lot of back and forth or the dreaded sales tricks of "let me talk to my manager" etc. I got a fair deal on my trade-in as well. And, when I had to go back the next day to get my floor mats (because the service department was closed by the time we were done with the deal) and ask about a dozen questions about the aforementioned tech package, Adam was just as nice and patient (spent about an hour in the car with me working on various settings, questions, etc.) after the deal as he was before hed made the sale. I dont make recommendations lightly, nor am I all that easy to impress as I tend to be a "tough grader", but I do highly recommend Acura Libertyville. And though it should be known, I want to make it clear that I am real person, not affiliated with the dealership or anyone in it in any way whatsoever (other than as a satisfied customer) and not compensated for this recommendation in any way. Not to sound cheesy, but if youre looking for an Acura go where youre going to be treated well and get a good deal, go to Acura Libertyville. Tell Adam Jeanne sent you and if he doesnt give you a good deal shell have to bring back her team:-)
