I have visited this location at various times and seasons and the long lines where the cashiers are moving with the urgency of molasses seems to be the hallmark of the store/brand. This is a store that specializes in DIY craft supplies so the purchases range from the crafter who is just dropping in to pick up a single item to the person who is getting materials for large projects with indiviual coupons for each item. That said, why is it always 1 cashier? The clientele seems to be consistent and strong, so hiring enough staff should not be an issue. But it never fails;the lines are ALWAYS long and slow. It is either a coupon that wont scan or people needing to know the prices of their merchandise because that information is almost impossible to find out prior to getting to the register. There is some real work needed in the area of shelving as well. With all the money they make, I wonder how much they miss because people get frustrated and walk out. This store is definitely a test of patience. Someone should call Deepak Chopra because this is a great place to have people practice deep breathing and mindfulness. You will need it to survive the experience. Do better JoAnn!

This Homewood IL store is terrible. In the process of waiting in line to get some material cut, the associate who "claimed" to be the manager (who I later found out was not) was anything but professional. After waiting in line to get some material cut, the associate said there wasnt enough...and told me where some more was. Upon return, she said too late you lost your place. She was rude and made it a point to speak loud enough to embarrass me and get a laugh from others in line. Usually a professional associate will continue through with the order. Nonetheless I went back in line because it was important. While in line she made a joke about the ticket number I left on the counter again making a point to speak loud and get a laugh. The store manager never bothered to return my message until corporate was informed one month later. It was a bad experience. Ill never go to Joann stores again.

I remember when the store first opened. It was wonderful I was so excited! There are some good workers, but the morale seems to be way down. About a month ago they had a really nice manager seems like he had it on the ball. Seen him since. And for Christmas shopping was very long , but it was definitely not not enough staff in the store! There were two registers open and maybe one or two at the cutting counter. It was one staff member also holding a kids sewing class. The wait was horrible! I know this shop can become as wonderful as it once was. I wish corporate would step in rehire and do a makeover then they can have a grand opening that would set things off. We really need the store and our community. Not like it is, but better!

Came back to try again. Still slow as molasses! They dont even care. This rating is long over due, for some years now. Typically from Fri.-Sun. there is a long line for fabric cutting. Not always, but most times than not. Same with registers. I wouldnt mind it so much if the customer service was better. You have to chase somebody down to help you. They come off very rude and cold like they dont even want to be bothered with you. They are far from accommodating and expect the customers to fend for themselves. There is no real competition around so people still continue to shop here. I had a bad experience for the 3rd and last time and remembered a new Walmart (with sewing department)had just opened up near-bye.

Visited this store on 6/16/17. I come here often, however, on this day the service was unacceptable. They had a total of 3 employees working. I requested assistance to purchase an accessory for my cricut, which was locked. The first request was ignored. The second received no response and I had to ask for the manager who was cutting fabric. When I finally got in line it took 35 minutes to purchase due to 1 cashier.

JoAnn Fabrics in Homewood is impossible to shop at. Poor selections, terrible lines to check out. Awful customer care. Had a problem, cashier could not help, was told manger would call, he didnt, i called him. He was useless and said some one would call back. They didnt. I didnt. JoaAnn Fabics in Homewood has lost my custom FOR EVER!!! Zero stars, zero moons, zero planets!!!

Only one register open and a long line everytime I go there. Shelving looks cluttered and not very many varieties available. I have to just go to another location now or just shop online now. Im so disappointed in Homewood location. It used to be my favorite place to shop. It needs a whole new overhaul..

Called first to see if they sold rhinestones by the pound/in bulk. "Yes! We sure do!" Get here the next day and let alone, I couldnt get any help, when I finally got help, Im told theyve never sold them this way. Really??? Waste of gas for nothing. Whats the point of phoning first? Completely pissed!

Very frustrating experience. Went in an hour and fifteen minutes before close and they had already removed all their signage for the sale that was going on so I couldnt tell what was on sale for how much. Ended up buying far less than I would have really liked.

Due to their failure to schedule enough staff, the store is never as organized and clean as it could be. Corporate is in Ohio and seems to be more concerned about the bottom line than the customer service.

Slightly smaller than other Joanns Ive been in. Stopped was messy. Shelves werent shocked very well. Long wait at the checkout; not because of number of customers. But I did find what I was looking for.
