I actually made a drive to this specific location because I knew that I could get the things I need at a fair price and even drove my shopping cart all the way from the parking lot back to the store so that the associates dont have to do this in the cold weather. The treatment I got in return for making these efforts was unbelievable. The first thing I noticed, which, because I am a retail employee myself, I found inappropriate was the fact that the cashier who was checking me out was loudly talking about her romantic life with her co-worker who was standing at least a few feet away. I did not even receive a greeting, because she was too preoccupied having a private conversation. This is very unprofessional. But this wasnt even the least of my frustrations. After I finished shopping, I placed the items in my trunk, and went across the street to get food from a local restaurant. Upon my return, I had a boot placed on the tire of my car, because apparently I was not allowed to park on the premises of the parking lot if I wasnt in one of the stores of the plaza. The warning signs, in my opinion, were not legible. I did not see the warning, and I wasnt aware of it, as it was never there before. I went to speak to the Family Dollars manager about the issue. When I spoke with her, I showed her my receipt and told her that I did in fact shop here and I just stepped off the premises of the property for a few minutes, unaware of the fact that I wasnt allowed to do this. She then proceeded to responding to me in a very rude manner, completely not understanding of my situation. She rudely pointed out that there are warning signs on the parking lot and when I said I hadnt noticed them, she stormed to a window and replied, with quite an attitude, that she can see the signs from this window. (I couldnt, however.) I tried to reason with her, for as a sales associate, I believe that customers should be accommodated in certain situations so that they could come and shop again. I asked her to, just this one time, have the boot removed free of charge because I was unaware of the warning, I did in fact shop with Family Dollar just a few minutes earlier, and I wouldnt leave my car in their parking lot again. She said that she wasnt going to do anything about it, again, with a lot of attitude. I was so frustrated with her attitude, that I told her that I will be contacting the corporate offices, giving her location a very poor review, and I will never shop here again. She said this is fine and that I should have myself a good day. (She didnt even stand and address me through the entire situation, only in the beginning. She was sitting for the remnant of the confrontation.) Frustrated, I returned everything I purchased, and she was completely fine with it. I ended up paying $140 to get the boot removed from my car. It was half of the money that I received as a birthday present from my father and it is far more than I even have on my checking account right now (as I am a 19 year old college student and only have a part-time retail job). This entire situation and the treatment I received from the manager completely ruined my mood. I am absolutely set on never shopping in any of the Family Dollars again because of this, and so are my friends and family who heard of this situation.

went to store (dollar store) then to coffee store returned with a boot on car. Total scam I bought something at dollar store and save - $140.00. I shall never return, This store is a scam and will boot you if you go to any other store other then the dollar store. I SHALL NOT RETURN.
