Before we moved out of the Chicago area, I had to get all of my wifes jewelry re-appraised for insurance purposes. I contacted DaValle Jewelers based on a recommendation from a friend who is a regular customer of theirs. Their prices for appraisals were very fair and offered an additional discount for the volume of appraisals I needed. Their store was located a distance from where we lived but I figured the savings they offered for this service was worth the drive. When I called to make an appointment with Dennis, the owner, I found out that he personally lived close to my town. To save me the drive all the way to the store, Dennis offered to come over and do the appraisals at my house. He showed up the next day with his gold scale and diamond lens and spent over an hour with my wife appraising each of her pieces. A few days later the written appraisals arrived in the mail. This was above and beyond what I ever anticipated! I have referred many of my friends to DaValle Jewelers and plan to return there for future purchases on our visits back to Chicago.

I had the absolute worst experience at Davalle dealing with Dennis. I went to pick out my engagement ring and my then boyfriend went to pick it up from the store. When he proposed, I immediately realized that it was not the diamond I had picked in the store. When I went in the day after my proposal, Dennis treated me terrible. He was erratic and talking to me like I was insane. He told me I didn’t know what I was talking about and he has been in business for 40 plus years bla bla bla. Funny that he got so defensive when he did nothing wrong right!!! I left there in tears. He lied about the quotes he gave me for the diamond I was supposed to have. When I considered going back to get the actual diamond I wanted, the price magically went up. He made my engagement absolutely awful. I would not recommend him or his store to anyone!

I went to DaValle Jewelers to look for a gift for a wedding after hearing from a colleague that they had a large selection and very competitive prices. The store was spacious and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I found the perfect gift at a very fair price, but what really impressed me was the huge bridal section they have for engagement rings and wedding bands. Several of my friends were getting engaged soon and I referred them to DaValle to look for an engagement ring. All of my friends that went there ended up purchasing their engagement and wedding rings from there and could not be happier with that decision! Although we all live a distance from the store, the extra drive is well worth the selection and savings you will find when you get there.

We purchased two yellow diamonds and Dennis DaValle was wonderful to us during the whole process. Mr. DaValle has a great deal of knowledge about diamonds and designing rings, and he is professional and kind. He helped us obtain the highest quality yellow diamonds, and then set them in a beautifully designed gold ring making my wife very happy indeed!! They have the most beautiful collection of jewelry of any store I have been in around Chicago. I would trust them to do anything for us with any jewelry purchase in the future. DaValle Jewelers are the best!

I bought an antique engagement ring at an estate sale and went to have it appraised. The old guy who did the appraisal was nice enough and the price ($45) was reasonable. He saw the old shabby box it was in and offered me a new one. The owner Dennis who was behind the counter started yelling at the old guy saying something like we arent in the box business. He inferred that he didnt want my crappy ring in a box with his name in it... Dennis, you lost my business and hopefully anybody else who reads this.

I brought a diamond pendant in to sell that they told me "was not a real diamond and probably not even real gold". They offered me $40-50 for it. What they did not know was that I had already gotten an appraisal from an honest, reputable jewelry store for the same pendant. That appraisal valued it at $38,500. Big difference. They are either totally incompetent at conducting appraisals, or they are scammers. I would never do business with these people.
