Yesterday I went in and decided to look into ordering a new iPad for myself. Though the staff seemed slightly more knowledgeable then a standard pedestrian. I asked if apple had a new iPad coming out because of the keynote they had just held. I was reassured that there was no new iPad coming out and at the current models in front of me were going to be top of the line Tech for the next year or so. Well since I was in there playing with it I decided a good demo might be to google iPad news on it, and all the articals that popped up were about the new iPad Pro releasing in 3 days. Immediately I confronted the sales man and showed him the news articles he apologies to me and then and went and asked another co worker about it. This new co worker came back and said that if I was to buy this new iPad Pro coming out in 3 days I would be given a $50 gift card to Best Buy as a pre order bonus. I was feeling fishy about everything that just happened and decided I shouldnt make any purchases today told them I might be back in the following day but was currently unsure about the product and the quality of service I had just received. Against my better judgement I decided to go in and pre order it the fallowing business day, yes the experience was unpleasant but if I could save $50 and put it towards the Apple Pencil it would be worth it. Well roughly 24 hours later I walk in and ask the man at the checkout counter on the PC floor to pre order it. Im given a blank look told that he needs to go get help because he doesnt know how to do that. So he calls for help and Im stuck there just waiting for roughly 5 min to get help. They together come to the conclusion the Best Buy as a whole is not allowed to do any preorders of any sort. (Ive preorders things in the past so obviously they once again just dont know what they are doing) They then tell me that I need to sign into my personal Best Buy account. I sign in thinking originally it was just for information but in reality its because I they just want me to order it online as if I was in my house. After all of that and some more waiting too we finally get to the pre orders page and guess what Best Buy is only offering a $25 dollar gift card for pre orders. At this point im both angry and disappointed. So I tell both of the workers at the counter that Im angry and dont wanna take it out ok them please go get me a manager. Well they then start making up lies about why the manager can come over and saying he busy right now. They are sorry about all the confusion but theres nothing they can do. At that point I just said Im done Im going to apple, I made sure to log out all of my personal information and left. As a BEST BUY ELITE PLUS member and someone who spends roughly $3,000 in tech there a month (business purposes of course) I cannot believe how I was treated and will not be returning. I will now be making a 15 min longer commute to the Best Buy over in north aura instead. Its not about the $50 gift card its because most (not all) workers there really dont know much about what they are selling in prefer lying to you over telling the truth and hitting there sales numbers but hey I guess thats what the manager wants anyways.

Absolutely the worst customer retention service Ive ever dealt with. I spent about $4000 in less than 6 months at this store buying 3 laptops for my kids, a Sony flat screen for me, and a monitor for our desk top, $4000. After a couple months one of my children forgot her password and could not access her laptop. After endless tries I brought it in to this Best buy and asked them to reset the password for me but they insisted on charging my $30! For a password reset! After spending $4k they would not, in the interest of customer retention, comp me a lousy password reset!?! After the "geek squad" dude hemmed and stuttered for a couple minutes about having to charge me i asked to speak to his boss, the manager. I asked her for favor and in the spirit of customer retention to comp me but she was actually quite indignant and didnt seem to care what i had spent or whether I ever came back. Between the facts but more because of the indignant, arrogant attitude I will in fact never buy anything at a Best Buy again. I encourage anyone considering buying items sold at Best Buy to take advantage of the competitive pricing and far superior customer service at competing stores.

Best customer service! I had just left the Verizon store on Butterfield & Kirk in N. Aurora to replace my phone that I broke. I was not due for an upgrade and the creep there was so rude and obnoxious to me, telling me I ONLY had two options: Buy the 3 year old refurbished phone with no warranty, but he would "let" me plug it in to see if it worked, or buy a new phone at full retail price of $600 plus. I was so upset when I left there that I was shaking. I went to Best Buy and Spencer was so incredibly nice, he not only explained what my REAL options were, he apologized to me for the horrible experience I just had with Szymon at Verizon, when he had nothing to do with it. Wow! Now thats customer service! I cannot Thank you enough Spencer for being a sincerely nice guy and helping me out. And also the other super nice associate that showed me how to use the great Galaxy Note, that I ended up getting. You guys are the BEST!!!

Try it at Best Buy. Buy it from Amazon. Dont bother asking questions or expecting logical explanations of technology in any way. Worked here for 5 years and came back to back a purchase using my best buy credit card. Had $3,000+ store credit and was refused purchase because my spouses name was on card instead, despite the fact I had the same billing address, last name, and the fact I pay the card myself and knew the exact balance and last payment info. Buyer beware.
