Granted, there are a few select employees that have halped me on a rare occasion when there is actual help available. But overall, the customer service desk is very unprofessional in their transactions. Ive had one of the managers attempt to help me with an issue but the next time I needed help with that same issue, she claimed she couldnt help me. I told her, "Ive done this before at this store in the past" and she basically did not want to go the extra mile to help me out. Another employee, not sure if she was a manager or not, who claimed has been there 9 years (too long), also basically did not either go the extra effort to help me, mind you she was also very unprofessionally dressed (piercings, gaged ears, 2-inch long fake nails, this isnt Hot Topic). No apologies from anyone, I was basically turned away. Sheesh, all they want to do is get their paycheck but not work for it. They are basically doing whatever they need to just to keep their job. Is Sorry even in their vocab here? The only reason this place is still in business is most likely because K-Mart was bought out by Sears and this is their Ohare location, convenient for corporate to visit when its ten-minutes from the airport. I hope corporate sees this and totally changes their customer service atmosphere. Too many young unprofessionals working here who dont care about their customers just the money. Shop here if youd like and know what you want, but when it comes to asking for help, if your question is complicated or they dont know what youre talking about, then good luck, seriously! Dont even get me started on the crabby white-trash suburbanites who complain about anything due to their life-situation, who also shop here. Theres a reason all the most recent reviews are one-star...beware

Relinquish your want to step back into the 90s and feel the nostalgia of that lost decade. All those days long lost will be utterly forgotten by the poor customer service given throughout this store. The only type of interaction that one will experience with any kind of associate was that with the cashier. But, that customer service experience falls flat on its face every time I have gone to this location. The cashiers will greet you with scowls and hand you your change without the utterance of a "thank you" or "have a nice day". There are no associates on the sales floor to answer your unheard questions or to aid you in your quest for the goods that they keep in disorganized piles on shelves. All-in-all, I would take your business elsewhere (I.e. Target or Wal-Mart), as it is evident that the value of nostalgia is also waining in this drooping economy.

I dont even have a K-mart in my area anymore, I am so happy that they still exist nearer to me that I can get in my car and be home in a few hours. So the customer service isnt up to par anymore...really is there anyplace you can go to that is THAT great? Wether those days are gone or not, I am so grateful that this Kmart is still around. I like their sales, and they products...yes, 90s I still can find the old things that they always had. I find alot of good finds..I just have to work alittle bit to get what I need. Try going to a big hardware store. I am very happy with this store, and sometimes you CAN find a pleasant employee. Dont close down KMart...youre still a great institution..It seems most of you still go back, otherwise you wouldnt complain. I am happy with your store. Thanks!!!

All I can say is amazing! The staff and leadership team were so helpful. Our 16 year old daughter heard about the BIG 95.5 concert with Granger Smith at a K-Mart in Des Plaines over the radio. We showed up not knowing you needed to win a ticket to attend! We arrived early ...and voila ..... the staff at BIG 95.5 gave our daughter a ticket. The concert was awesome! Up close and personal. An experience you would never get at a concert ...even in the first row. The music was amazing. The small crowd was courteous and well mannered. I am going to watch for more of these opportunities. Again, K-Mart staff and BIG 95.5 staff were amazing. Thanks to K-Mart for hosting such an amazing and impactful event for our daughter (and us)!

Every time I go here the employees dont know what their doing. It took forever to pick up an item bought online. I couldnt even get any rewards points because I didnt enter my account info online. You cant give them your account info at the store. Once you buy it online thats it. I dont know if it was the employees fault and didnt know how to enter it. Or if it was the systems fault. I also tried to buy a refrigerator there and it was a terrible experience. I was there for 40 minutes trying to get a refrigerator that was advertised online . multiple employees came around and didnt know what to do. They kept trying to get me to put the info again and again on different computers or tablets. I ended up just leaving without anything.

DO NO SHOP AT THIS DES PLAINES KMART! YOU ARE WARNED.. the DP dp police will be at your car right after you walk into the store looking for any equipment or parking issue they can ticket you over.. your plate sticker expired 2 days ago?... TICKET! all because you shopped at their hunting grounds.. DP Kmart. go to the rosemont Target or the Mt. Prospect walmart.. you will never have a single problem.. the DP police desperately need revenue as they had to lay off police personnel recently, and they are hitting these business lots HARD for any ticket they can find. .

I called on the phone to check status on my order. They put me on hold for 20 minutes, and was transferred to another department. Then I was put on hold for another 10 minutes, only to learn that they couldnt find my order. Same thing happens when I went in to check on my order and they were not able to find it on the system. Later on they told me the order was cancel! Not to mention, the woman who picked up the phone was extremely rude and had a very exasperated tone. She was NOT interested in helping me, or anyone else. Use a different store!!!

This store is very Horrible in customer service , I bought all of my staff from here , one time when I came back to return 2 item the cashier made mistake in refunding and after near 2 month I did not receive my money back yet . I follow up my problem 3 times from store because of their mistake but unfortunately nobody responsible . I am so sorry about Kmart especially this store for their customer service . I never buy anything from Kmart in future

The cafe that is in this Kmart i ordered nacos. There chips were good but there cheese tasted horrible! It tasted like spoiled cheese sause! HOW DISCUSTING!!! And my mom ordered the crazy bread with the pizza sause and i took one bite of the crazy bread diped it in the sause and got sick of it! And my mom was about to complain because notging in their cafe tasted right. MAN KMART GET NEW FRESH SUFF EVERY DAY!
