I stood in the line, waiting for it to open, then noticed the woman behind the "fine goods" counter and walked over to be rung up (im talking literally behind the woman she was already helping). A woman and her children literally just stepped directly in front of me, and after I made mention of this, the store clerk continued to take care of the woman. The clerk made eye contact with me twice. I had two small items, this woman had three giant bags of items she found. The clerk called for help and another woman came to ring people up. So I walked over and again, another woman and her children stepped up to the plate. At this point I was becoming even more upset about literally everyone either saying, "I dont speak English" or just out right ignoring me. It was finally my turn to pay. Usually a five dollar minimum for cards doesnt bother me but I guess I was sort of over being there. The place is disorganized. There were mice and roach traps all over. The furniture was either broken or severely damaged (and therefore over priced), I even found three rugs that literally smelled like urine and had obvious urine stains on them. I wouldnt go back here if you paid me.

Chicagolands largest thrift store. Its three floors of sometimes awesome stuff ranging from rare books, vintage bikes, furniture, bric-a-brac, toys and clothes. I cant speak to the quality of clothing there, but the non-clothing items are pretty cool depending on when you go. The best day are the 50% off days, and the day after 50% off sales if youre looking to buy books. I dont know if its a case of not enough old people are dying and leaving behind their items or if the hipsters and yuppies gentrifying Pilsen are scoring all the cool stuff, but there hasnt been a lot of quality vintage items lately. Its very much hit or miss if you dont visit regularly. Whereas in the past any day you went you were bound to find something old and really cool to take home for a few days. Still, Id take a chance and visit the showcase and second and third floor.

On the one hand. The items and the price is really good. On the other hand the people who work there are institutionalized scum. The price fell off one of the shirts a bought and the lady wasnt willing to sell it.. The manages also.. I Told her it just fell down and showed her the pricetag but she wouldnt sell.. "Store policy" my ass !! I hate when people obey the rules just for the rules.. Wont go back there again..

If your ready to dig and find some great treasures...this is your spot! Look everywhere in every section... workers organize...but then customers move stuff.

Huge. Selection but they do not separate sizes appropriately. Most of the mens clothes are on the second floor. U must walk up more than 25 steps. ..

Amazing. Three entire floors of treasures to dig through. Every time I go in here, I end up walking out with more than I intended, hours later.

The big book sale here is the greatest thing ever. but be there at opening or you wont really find anything later on throughout the day.
