Great staff as always, although sometimes its a struggle in the hot food/seafood department. They dont conceal that they hate their jobs as well everybody else does haha. Customer service is really great along with their sales. Sometimes the shelved dairy is a little too close to expiration. If its expiration (and not sell-by) is in 2-3 days, it should probably be moved to their little discount corral they have every so often. Also would be nice if they had more fresh, unpackaged lettuce/greens to choose from.

The service! I was a bit surprised by the variety of products available; I was even a bit stunned by the size of the the store. But, the service attitude of staff members here was something youd expect to find in a store with much, much higher prices. There are very reasonably-priced items here and lots of free parking, once you make it past the heavily-congested intersections getting there. I recommend you try the sushi bar or get a taste from the wine sommelier!

Most people dont know that beyond a great super market, Strack & Van Til also offers a great variety of ready to eat foods. They have a full salad bar, hot soups and $5 meals which include fried chicken, salisbury steak & meatloaf. Choice of sides like potato wedges, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and more, I myself enjoy the pizza puffs & corn dogs, but sometimes I cant help but indulge in their sushi bar. Try the crunchy crab roll, its my favorite.

I hate the hot food department because every women in that department has horrible customer service.. they act like they have an issue with taking someone order. If their was a way to rate their department ill give them NO STARS. The reason I’m giving them 2 stars its because of their check lanes and the people in the floor who are great on customer service. SUCKS that this is the only grocery store close to my job to get lunch!

My partner and I were in this area, so we decided to try out Strack and Van Til. The only thing we liked about this store were the cookies. The prices were ridiculously high, and the quality of the food was average at best. There were a ton of flies in the onion display, the store was set up in a very confusing way, and none of the employees were friendly. Even if I lived near here, Id still go somewhere else for groceries.

Great place to do your shopping. Its a Strack and Van Til Thing and I like it. The prices are reasonable, the selection is bountiful and the store is for a grocery store pleasant. The worst part is getting through the 6 way intersection at Fullerton, Elston and Damen before you arrive. While it isnt the most convenient location the money you save by making the trip to Stracks makes up for it. Thumbs up!

The best part of this particular Stracks is the bakery department. The staff is awesome, the product is high quality, the ordering is reliable, and the hours always suit my schedule. As far as the rest of the store, I really dig the sushi chef that preps and then provides tastes. There is a strange but greatly appreciated selection of items, they even carry rabbit food.

Go here weekly, love the produce manager he has good recommendations and will always go to the back if he thinks he has something better for you. The selection here is good and the price point is way cheaper than Jewel (my other option) the Deli people are really hit or miss and their prices are a but higher there. Overall, love this store

Clean store, good produce, friendly people that dont act like you are bothering them when you checkout (are Jewel cashiers trained to look like they hate you?) I am so glad I stumbled onto this place. Beats Jewel in every way except for number of stores. But I gladly drive the extra distance to go here

Love strack! It has great deals and it is superclean. I only wish they did not get rid of the smaller sized carts. I hate pushing a giant one and it will not convince me to buy more just because my cart is bigger. I will just take a basket and buy less. Otherwise they are great and friendly.

Best fried chicken and chocolate iced donuts EVAAAA! I love the local things Strack tries to bring in and they couldnt not be more helpful. I ordered Thanksgiving from them, the entire meal was wonderful, turkey juicy and no clean up or back hurting. I would highly recommend Stracks.

Favorite grocery store in Chicago! You dont need a rewards card to get the deals, the have lower base prices and better service than larger chains. Once you make it past the worst intersection in Chicago (Fullerton, Elston & Damen) Strack & Van Til is a haven. Great prices for deli!

I really like this store! The milk regularly costs $1.99 per gallon. It seems like they have a lot of good deals, and Ive had a pleasant experience shopping in this particular location. They have self-checkout stations, which I havent seen in many of the other nearby grocery stores.

Theyre priced a little higher than somewhere like Jewell (I think), but this store is worth paying a few extra cents more! Their customer service and caring attitude are unparalleled compared to almost every other grocery store in the area.

I been shopping here a while now . but notice that the quality of the meat is not so good anymore. A few times I bought meat and it tuned bad the next day . customer service became awful also.I will start going to jewel

Not the best prices in the world of groceries, but certainly not the highest. Ive always had positive encounters with the employees at this store. So yes, I recommend this particular store.

Not as glitzy as Whole Foods or Marianos, but the best overall grocery store in Chicago and the staff is friendly and helpful. We always stock up here when we are in Chicago.

A whole aisle of gluten free food, just across from produce. Organic ground beef at a very reasonable price. I will be returning...Wholefoods has some competition!

As far as grocery stores go, this one is pretty good. I think the prices are definitely better than jewel or dominicks, but the produce isnt particularly good.

Best grocery store in Chicago. I save on avg. $30 everytime I go there (vs. what I would have paid at Dominicks). Very friendly and great customer service.

As grocery stores go this one is quite good. Prices are low, selection is better than average if you arent interested in gourmet foods. LOTS of parking.

A large grocery store with pretty great prices on everything. They often do special weekly deals. Produce is always fresh.

Huge store, not as many specialty products as other, more boutique, stores in the area. Good prices on the staples, though.

Full five except for the open donut area. Man have I seen some nasty people getting their dirty paws on those Bearclaws...
