I was very disappointed with my first trip to this location on May 2, 2017 at about 5pm. The store was beautiful (as to be expected) and I loved walking around looking at all of the beautiful accessories and clothing, and I was greeted by one very nice woman on the first floor working the Louboutin section. But, sadly, that was the only nice experience I had. I was visiting Chicago for business and needed a pair of dress pants. My budget was $150, and I usually have no trouble finding what I need (with a lot of friendly assistance) at my local Cleveland Nordstroms. But when I entered the mens department at the Chicago, N. Michigan Avenue location, I was not greeted once by any of the staff. I looked around and there were staff members playing on their phones that were charging at the registers. No one said hello. No one asked if I needed help. I walked around for 20-30 minutes, sometimes with clothes hung over my arm, and no one asked if I needed anything. It made me feel very uncomfortable and unwanted. There was also (who I assumed to be a manager) frantically running around looking for a pair of pants that were lost. He was very distraught and it was making me very uncomfortable how loud he was being about the ordeal. I finally approached one of the staff members playing on his phone and asked if he could help me find the size pant that I needed -- a waist size 38 or 40. He didnt even try to help, said I wouldnt find that size in his department, and directed me to mens suits. I asked a man there to help me and he also said they wouldnt have those sizes (seriously? Im not even a large man, and they dont have waste size of 38 or 40?? Thats crazy). I had to coax him into helping me find a pair that fit, and he begrudgingly helped. When we finally found a pair (he was very surprised) in size 40, he asked if I wanted to try them on. The pants were $450, way above my limit. I told him I wasnt interested in spending that kind of money and he responded "...Oh. OK then." and WALKED AWAY from me. I was mortified. I quickly left the store and dont plan on returning any time soon. Nordstrom is KNOWN for their excellent customer service, and thats usually what I get when I shop with then. I will continue to shop with Nordstrom, but will never return to this location.

I am usually a huge fan of Nordstrom but my last visit to this Chicago location left a bad taste in my mouth. First of all, the fitting rooms are always locked so you have to ask someone to open the door for you. I looked/waited around the top floor for about 15-20 minutes before someone was able to help me. Secondly, when I was ready to checkout, one of the cashiers by Topshop was super rude towards me. She asked me a question and I asked her to repeat it because I couldnt hear what she said. She proceeded to talk super slow and loud as if I were deaf or someone from another country who couldnt understand English. After I gave her my answer she looked to another coworker, rolled her eyes and laughed right in front of me. If youre going to be unfriendly to customers (who are spending a lot of money at your store) you shouldnt be working in sales. This is my first and last time shopping at this location.

I went here for the Diors exclusive backstage services from Yelp and I did receive a makeover, however, I was not happy with the makeover that I received. The person who did mine put on six times as much makeup as I normally wear, and she used a style that was probably at least 20 years too young for me. This Nordstrom store is actually at the end of the mall. It is a multi-level store so be sure to check out the other floors, theres even a cafe on the second floor. The store is spacious and uncrowded with lots of employees who are eagerly waiting to help you. There is a huge makeup / fragrance department in the store I suggest if youre a female take the time to get a free makeover you might just discover your favorite new product.

My fiancé recently purchased a suit from Nordstrom and while he was at work, the pants ripped wide open. We were shocked because we are quite familiar with the usual upstanding quality of Nordstrom clothing. We went to the mens section to return the pants because the rip was clearly not fixable. We spoke to one representative who said, "Oh, its time for a new suit. Here is a card for a reweaver." I was appalled at the lack of care, concern, and customer service. I am familiar with the return and exchange policy and I asked if there was anything he could do to replace the pants and he said no. We will not be shopping here again for suits and I plan to talk with his manager this weekend.

They mailed the wrong shoes, though I did receive them quickly. I called immediately to get the correct pair. I worked with Sarah to get the replacement pair to me within 2 days of reordering since I was leaving the country. By the morning of the promised delivery date there was no update online. I called to check on the progress. After 4 hours of not receiving a return call for the update, I called again. Turns out they werent mailed, but they insisted they would arrive the next day. I just checked the status of the order, the delivery is not arriving today. I could have purchased them at Neiman Marcus, but Nordstrom insisted they would get the shoes to me on time.

Snoody staff, but meticulously clean interior. I went to get simple measurements. When I approached a group of (presumably) store workers, they gave off a really stand-off-ish vibe. Once I got to the tailor, I was out in ten minutes - he did a precise and quick job. I try to be nice to whomever I interact with while shopping, so to get some attitude from a retail worker was especially obnoxious. One recommendation: stop acting like Im an inconvenience as a customer... You work retail...

If you need professional and efficient assistance in cosmetics, fragrances, or (in my case) candles ask for Sharon Green-Cooper. She found me right before I left and showed me to the product I needed. I was looking for something else, but Sharon showed me a better alternative. Without her help I wouldve taken my business elsewhere. One of the largest ad agencies in Chicago appreciates her knowledge and intellect. Thanks Sharon!

This Nordstrom is running neck and neck with Oakbrook as my favorite. I have to say, this store at North Bridge seems to be better stocked and also seems to have a much better layout than OB. Its also really convenient to the Loop given its on North Michigan Ave. I was able to pop right on up to the Halogen section, grab a blazer and be done in less than 30.

As a plus size girl, Nordstrom is a 1 stop shop for all I need. From a great assorted plus size section to an amazing shoe section with stretching for most shoes (wide feet/calves). Im never disappointed that I didnt find what I need. Although it is a bit pricey, everything is good quality and durable. Most things I get there last years!
