I am currently in the market for a bike. I read the reviews on this place, and I thought I would stop by to see if they can offer me any service. I walked in, no one said "hi, just one second. How are you?". Or even looked at me. Regardless I figured they were all busy, so I started to look around until someone could assist me. No one! And I mean no one! Acknowledged that I was there. I saw the prices, an even thought they are decently price I knew I could get a better service and a deal at a different non profit resale. I was only in the store maybe 5 minutes until I left, without purchasing a bike. edit: Thank you Michael for getting back to me. I appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge my concern. I fortunately purchased a bike from a different retailer. But knowing that you have taken the time to address an issue I had, is reassuring and hopefully if I have any questions or concerns with my bike I can come to you for assistance.

I had heard many good things about West Town Bikes and accompanying Ciclo Urbano and appreciate their community outreach programs, teaching people how to fix bikes. However when I finally went to the shop I was very disappointed. The girl working the counter was rude and uninformed. It was clear that my presence in the store was an inconvenience and bother to her. Going to the shop was a complete waste of time and made me super angry. Dont bother with this shop.

Anthony & crew hooked it up! They took my stripped bike (only a frame & wheels) & converted the bottom bracket, upgraded the gears, replaced all the hardware & put on new handles & seat in 2 hours for $250! Thanks, Ciclo, for not being a snobby, douchey bike shop like so many others out there. If you want a good group of bike experts to educate you & build/repair your bike without feeling like an idiot - go here! Ill be taking all my bikes here from now on!

I went to this bike shop not knowing who they are. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. They didnt push any sales onto me, and were very helpful and honest about their products. They spent plenty of time with me trying to figure out the perfect bike. I would highly recommend this shop. They are professionals who know what they are doing. The whole non-profit side of the shop is a great idea too. Stop by and see what they are about!!

You gotta love a bike shop that says theyre there to provide affordable, reliable transportation to the Humboldt Park neighborhood. These guys rock. Theyre fast, theyre not overpriced, they know what theyre doing, and they wont look down their nose at me because I ride a bike I got for $100 on Craigslist. Plus, they host the open shops at West Town Bikes -- a truly great environment to learn how to take care of your bike.

Great service to customers and the community! Absolutely wonderful. I donated some bikes and learned that these kids are learning alot more than how to fix bikes. They are learning about responsibility, customer service, leadership and ownership. When I stopped in and mentioned I had more than one bike, they were fast to offer to help me come get them from my car. The group leader came out to thank me.

Are these guys a non -profit or a for profit. I dont get the set up. They have a bike shop in the front, but then some kind of donation shop in the back. They get donated bikes in the back and then they sell them in the front. They dont really have a large selection of bikes and accessories. They can however sell you lots of used stuff.

My wife and I have both taken our bikes in for tune-ups/repairs, and every time we have been treated with great customer service and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The bike techs really know their stuff, and the prices for service are incredibly reasonable.

The people make the difference. These mechanics are highly skilled, and will never be pretentious or rude, no matter your level of biking experience. They are also deeply involved in serving the community, engaging with area youth through WestTown Bikes.

Folks at Ciclo Urbano are very helpful and a shop to serve as an example. Service is thorough and they offer good advice too. Everyone Ive talked with has a good attitude. They impress from every angle.

The other reviewer doesnt know what hes talking about and I think likes to write hate speeches online. That is all. Go to this bike shop when your in the area, they are the best!
