We generally are fans of Cracker Barrel, However, after our experience on 11/11/14 we will not be patronizing the Nampa store again. The service was really quite awful and the management could not have cared less. The hostess took her time seating us, aka, more than a five minute wait when they clearly were not busy at all. Once we were seated, the waiter did not appear for a good ten minutes and when he finally did, he was distracted by everything around him. We ordered simple things such as coffee and hot chocolate, that finally appeared 25 minutes later. The food finally arrived at our table, and not one thing with our order was brought out correctly. The food was cold and had been sitting for quite some time, another server actually delivered it to our table, as our server finally showed up with our drinks. When asked if we would like refills we said yes only to find it took 3 more times asking for the same thing before he went and got it. He was walking around to other tables apologizing for his awful service. I realize people have bad nights, but really, it was beyond that. When we were ready to leave, we still didnt have a ticket, and wound up asking the night manager for it so we could pay. We briefly described our experience and not only did he not apologize, he didnt have any interest in trying to make it better! He just handed us our check. We are frequent flyers at Cracker Barrel around the country and have eaten there many times at various places. We wont be returning to the Nampa store though. One star is too much for this experience!

I really dont get what all the hype is about. I have been here twice. The first time I tried the sampler, The ham was good but the rest was ok, but I left hungry. But Ive been hearing that if you order anything but the sampler it is really good. So tonight my son and I went back to try it again. Waste of money again!!! This time I ordered the sirloin steak with dumplings for a side and corn bread and had lemonade to drink. The lemonade had a horrible after taste, I couldnt even finish it and eventually ordered a root beer. The corn bread was the worst cornbread I have ever had, no flavor, not sweet or anything, had a horrible flavor. (plus the butter they give you is cold and rock hard.) The steak that I had was okay but the closer I got to the other side of it I started noticing some kind of flavor that was very strong and did not taste good at all, I didnt finish it. The dumplings are ok but thats all I can say about those. My son had the Country fried steak and said that he has had better. The best part of my meal was the root beer that I ordered and it was bottled. While we were paying for the meal the manager happened to have been at the register and I told her about it and all she did was take off the lemonade. I gave it two chances but Im done. So to sum up... the food does not taste good. I really dont get what all of the hype is about.

Horrible place to work.. People often quit. The managers are horrible and political which is not professional. They give you the worst hours even 2 hour shifts. 20% employee discount for food, but you have to eat it there, and cannot bring it home. You have to throw left overs away. They are a very cheap company. They reuse lots of the same stuff. I put in my 2 weeks, and the last week I was there I called in and they told me that they covered all my shifts, and that I could go home. They didnt call and tell me, they just did it with no warning. I dont no why they would do that to someone. We even signed a paper that says I need to work until this day. The manager went against her word on paper.. Such a horrible place and not many professional people.

We are not huge fans of the cracker barrel in Boise but have given the Nampa one a chance several times since opening. It seems like most of the time they just cant get it right. Went in last night and where sitting at the table waiting to order for what seemed like forever. Several servers that looked lost would stare our way but not come over. Finally we decided we wouldnt deal with NO service and below average food and got up and left. The gal at the host counter thought it was funny that we where unhappy and leaving. The manager Trent should go back to being a busser with the way he does his job. There are plenty of other great choices in the area and after last night we are done wasting our time and money at Cracker Barrel.

Lunch was good. Cant say the same for breakfast which I had the next day. This was a disappointment. They cant substitute eggs for anything if you dont want them and they also cant put strawberrys on french toast. I thought it was a joke at first. They can put cut strawberrys on my wifes pancakes but even if I try to pay extra for it, they wont put it on your french toast. Pretty odd if you ask me. The coffee also seems very watered down and the food was just very bland. I would say it is the same price as Dennys but with a more bland taste. Biscuits and gravy were pretty good though. I might return for lunch one day but never again for their breakfast.

I have a friend that works there. She recently got a new job, her new job had told her that she needed to do testing and such. So, she called Cracker Barrel yesterday, 6 hours before her shift to let them know what her new job had said, Cracker Barrel said ok, that they would find someone. She went into work today, just to have them tell her, "Since you called in yesterday, we found someone to cover your shifts the rest of the week." They didnt even have the audacity to call her this morning and tell her, "oh by the way you dont dont work today or for the rest of your time here." Thats why I am giving them a 1 star review.

First time Id been as were from out of State and my hubby was determined to take me as he hadnt been to one in so long. We didnt have to wait too long for a server, but the food took forever, and then the soup didnt arrive! It took another ten minutes after pointing it out to the server. I thought the food was cooked the way Id asked and was very tasty. The server was very nice. Loved the decor and the fireplace, of which I took a photo from my seat. Shame about the wait. Youd have thought all the previous reviews would have made a difference. Obviously not.

My wife and I ate there a few months back. Sirloin steak was cooked med rare but was as tough as leather. couldnt finish it. Potato was barely warm and couldnt melt the butter. Complained to waiter and he offered to bring us another steak and I said no, we didnt have the time and whats the point? Second one probably just as bad as the first. They did send us a gift card for another meal. That was OK. Just had a burger the second time. Probably wont eat there again. Sorry folks!
