Just got racially profile at this store. Me and my whole family. We beeped when we went through the doors after buying a back pack. They made us come back through as several other white people walked out and its still beeping as well....but just us had to come back in and walk through one by one to make sure WE didnt have anything....so embarrising and unneccasarry. Never will return to the store again and this was our first time in the store after planning to go for months. Way to go Academy Sports. So tempted to return the product and get our money back...smh my 4yr just looking in horror wondering why we cant go through and why every one is looking at us.

I have been shopping with them since last year. They sell quality clothing at a reasonable price. Their colors (i.e. navy blue) dont fade easily and their sizes are spot on. I had to buy husky pants for my son b/c they didnt have his regular size. They were cut more true to size than the pair I bought from Wal-Mart. Needless to say I returned the pair I got from Wal-Mart. I also want to note the stores do not carry the uniform items. You can do a return but not a match for match exchange with their uniform pants and shorts. Just keep that in mind. Keep giving your customers quality products at reasonable pricing Academy!

Called to check if my size in a particular shoe was in stock and got a timely answer of yes. Went to the store and the shoe associate that took the call walked me to the shoe location and handed me my size. She had held it for me but had been put back on shelf. Turned out in that style shoe, one size smaller fit perfectly. Shoes are comfortable and the price was fantastic! A very pleasurable experience thanks to the shoe associate and Academy Sports + Outdoors stock. I must try shoes on which is why I dont buy shoes online.

Wonderful place! Wonderful prices on everything. I bought a nice starter kayak (Ive never done it before) for a good price after shopping around at all the other local sports places, and they were so helpful with putting it on my car even though they couldnt help much due to liability. But they were oh so very nice and friendly. Their camelbaks are also cheaper than other places. I highly recommend this place if they have what you need.

DO NOT BUY A FIREARM FROM ACADEMY SPORTS!!!!. Walked in a purchased a firearm and went an hour later to the gun range only to find the gun to be defective. Called the store and was treated very very rude. Long story short they told me they would do nothing and to call the manufacturer. That is pathetic customer service. I will never step into another academy sports again in life.

Large, airy, open and well-lit inside and at night in the parking lot. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have a very good selection of mens attire and sports wear and at fair prices .... Sometimes I have found some amazing prices especially on Adidas and Nike brands! This is definitely going to be one of my favorite stores to shop at.

Awesome service all around. I did not know you could order things and they are shipped to you FREE OF CHARGE. I needed a different size sneakers for my twin and he got them in two days at my door. This is the best store ...everybody there was super. I went in to buy my husband a new gun and from the start of the process to the end was amazing.. The gun person knew his merchandise ... The supervisor who checked my ID to the cashier to the guy who walk me to the door made this experience amazing.

one of the best sporting goods stores around, their store brand clothes are great value and quality, I do wish they carried more shoes that came in large sizes like 14 and 15 a this is one item I have a hard time finding at the store and would buy more of my shoes here vs Zappos, if they carried them

Take your compass or GPS. This place is so huge, you will get lost if you are just roaming. Basically any and everything you might need for an activity that doesnt include your recliner.
