Horrible Horrible Horrible customer service in the garden center. Went there today around 12:30pm to get landscaping blocks for a home project. I loaded over 20 of the big cement blocks by myself all while at least 3 male staff were in the vacinity doing nothing. One of the men literally walked by the aisle at least 3 times. I was pouring sweat as I loaded the blocks onto the flatbed. Upon finishing, I began trying to push the cart, but it was extremely heavy. Luckily I was able to maneuver it almost to the cash register in the garden center, but that is when I became extremely pissed. I stopped and thought why would you buy from a business where no customer service is extended. The associates showed absolutely NO concern in assisting me while I darn near sweated to death loading the cement blocks onto the cart. So I left it there and headed directly to the service desk to ask to speak to a store manager. The store manager on site who was responsible for the garden center didnt show an ounce of interest to speak to me. Instead of coming over when an associate advised I had a complaint he simply stared across the counter at me with a rude non welcoming look. Almost in tears from my frustration I headed for the door because I couldnt believe what I was experiencing. A very nice associate whose name I didnt get stopped and advised she phoned the Assistant Store Manager to speak with me and that she was on her way. While I waited she extended a sincere apology, gave me a hug and a bottle of water. I was truly appalled!!! In speaking with Angela the Assistant Store Manager I advised the poor customer service I experienced was shameful. Ive spent tons of money in that start since I moved into my new home; everything from a lawn mower, weed eater, grill, paint for my deck, shovels, plants, lightening etc. The associates just linger around in the garden center, dont make eye contact in fear you may ask for help. But it was clear why the associates act that way because the Store Manager over that area customer service was just as equally piss poor and enough to make me just leave the items there. I told Angela I never have these issues when I go to Lowes. Maybe Home Depot needs to reach out to them and model there customer service. Better yet, I have in-depth corporate training experience and would be more than happy to train your staff on the fundamentals of customer service. This truly has turned me off, today your organization showed me how ONLY my dollar is valued, but not me as a customer. Angela offered to give a discount on the items for the inconvenience, while appreciated I declined! I wasnt looking for a discount, just satisfactory customer service which is severely lacking at this location. Also suggest management spend a little more time walking the floors and observing. Note: Attached is a photo of the cement blocks I loaded while the male associates casually walked by, offering no assistance.

I always rent trucks, so it was nothing new, except I went to the Jonesboro location for the first time. The renting of the truck went pretty smoothly. But I was disappointed by the way I was treated when I returned the vehicle. I rented the vehicle for the regular 4 hrs. I walked up to the tool rental desk to return the vehicle, and the two CSRs just kept walking around me like I was invisible. I stood there patiently waiting to be acknowledged. There was a Black guy who was an employee but off of work who walked in and witnessed them obviously ignoring me. He said " Im so sorry, do you need some help, Im off, but I had to ask." While he was talking the CSR that set me up initially, finally said in the driest, most uncaring voice," Can I help you"? I looked at him like"Really?, you forgot who I was already"? I told him I was there to return the truck. Then as hes ringing me up, he gives me a higher price than what it says on the receipt. I tell him that the price is not correct since I returned the truck back before the time indicated. Im thinking that if you would have acknowledged me when I came in the door and I wasnt standing there for 10 minutes watching you two ignore me because I wasnt the right color, then my price would be what it says on the receipt. He sighed and changed the price. He walked to another register and stood there. I guess he thought that I could read minds. Eventually he said that I need to sign over where he was. I really hate dealing with prejudice people. I hate that I have to hold in my frustrations because of what society thinks of Blacks. Im not angry. I just want good customer service is that so hard to ask for? Attention Bigots, if you dont like People of Color, MOVE!!! I will never patronize the Jonesboro location again. First and last time.

I want everybody to know, take a MAN with you. I spent more time finding someone to help me in the garden section than I did selecting the merchandise I came for. This is not the first time either. I finally got a small guy to load some cement pavers in my buggy, I had to lift my own pool sand. I struggled with the buggy to the check out. Once I got there, there was ONLY one lane open. I waited and waited for another cashier to open, however, the line had grown down the aisle. I Parked the buggy and went to customer service. Upon arrival, the lady stood there in space.. I asked to speak to the manager. She looked and said," He is." The gentleman next to her said, "He is gone" Then I decided, I was in trouble. I asked them to send someone in the garden area so I may pay for my goods. As I arrived, MS. KELLY came in with a face only a magician could read. HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. Slinging my pavers, pushing things around. Ladies in the line were also Amazed at her actions. She should not work with people. Machines!!! Maybe. Once I got my body out of there, I met this young man by the name of Ryan. He came across the parking lot to load my car. Thanks Mr. Rayan, personality to die for. So, I will go somewhere, I am appreciated and respected my next visit. Ps I was there between 10:00 an d 10:30 a m.

Walked in looking for a specific tool, there was a banner advertising buy two tools and get the battery and charger kit for free (mind you neither of the power tools came with a battery so they were completely unusable without this kit). I asked for help locating the battery charging kit which eventually involved who I could only assume was the manager on duty. After a few minutes of us searching they decided that they were out of the kits. So the manager tells me that they can put my info in the system and I can come back and get the kit when it comes in. I asked if he could just comp me a charger and battery that were sold separately and he told me no, that I could just come back when the kit came in and get it but he couldnt tell me when it would be back in. Great... Thanks sport... Because these POWER tools are going to do me a lot of good sitting there with no batteries, I guess I can just look at them and make the noises and pretend like Im building my projects. Customer service at Home Depot is always sub par, but this was a new one.
