This place is out of this world! The quality of the shoes and the quality of the customer service is beyond belief. The customer service this store provides is something I thought I would only ever hear about from previous generations or see in black and white shows and movies. Its mind blowing. You just dont get this kind of service ANYWHERE. The store is small. Theres not a lot of room for a lot of people or the full line of offerings but they do have a good selection and there are always customers in the store. The fact that they dont have every shoe isnt a big deal because they know their shoes and they bend over backwards to make you happy and get you in the shoes you want and need. If youre like me, you dont like being "sold to". When it comes to significant purchases I like to do my homework online in advance. When I walk into a store I already know what I want or exactly what I need to evaluate in person to decide what I want. I like to minimize if not avoid interaction all together with employees who, most of the time, know very little about what theyre selling and who often simply want to make or maximize their commission. I wasnt very thrilled that the lady took a keen interest in me and began asking me questions about what I was looking for and what my needs were. In the end, Im very glad that she did and then turned me over to her husband at the appropriate time. I tell him what Im looking for, the type of shoe, the features I need (waterproof, etc.) and my application (daily use at work as an HVAC tech). I show some interest in a Vasque shoe (Vasque & Irish Setter are lines manufactured by Red Wing focusing on outdoor recreation & casual wear respectively) because it has an athletic shoe cut with the waterproof feature. He fit me using a shoe with a similar last and was more than happy to order the shoe I wanted but before we completely concluded our business he showed a little concern that the shoe might not be the best fit for what I intended for it. I was planning on using a hiking shoe to abuse every day at work. He suggested the shoe he thought best fit my needs and requirements and I tried on a version of that shoe. The fit and feel was actually better than MY choice and it did appear to be a better shoe for my needs so I had him order the version I wanted of the shoe he recommended. I LOVE THOSE SHOES! He and his knowledge and experience saved me from my own ignorance. Their excellent customer service put me in the BEST shoe for my needs when I had no idea I was in need of expert customer service. In addition, the quality of the brand is legendary. I have been through SO many shoes, work shoes and brands. It has taken me to the age of 31 to decide Im done cycling through poor quality shoes that just break down, underperform and disappoint. There are a few really good shoe brands out there and, frankly, variety is good because different brands have different strengths but the difference between a really good shoe brand and a great one is enormous. This is my first pair of Red Wings and they havent proven themselves yet but Im already impressed. The build of these shoes is substantial and impressive. They are very strong with double stitching, high quality leather, tough as nails soles and very comfortable inserts. Despite this tank-like build the shoe is VERY light and unbelievably comfortable. Strength, durability, features you need and extreme comfort justify the high price point. I believe I would have to buy at least 2 or 3 pair of the other guys to last as long as these Red Wings and they wouldnt be half as good. Let me put this in perspective (if youre still reading). The purchase of these shoes is one of two purchases that I am most satisfied and blown away with in a very long time. The other is the purchase of my Harley 5 months ago. Thats right, Im putting the purchase of these shoes from this store up there with the purchase of my motorcycle... and I LOVE my motorcycle. And no other customer service I have ever received in my life even comes close to this store.

We went into this store for shoes for my son but was very impressed with the accessories that they offer. Real leather belts and wallets along with several other leather accessories. After telling my wife about these she went there and bought me belts and a wallet for Christmas. She got the incorrect size on the belt ( no I lost weight :} ) so I had to return them for a swap. I encountered excellent customer service at this store and would highly recommend them to all.

The best customer service I have ever had. I felt like they really took the time and looked out for my needs. Didnt feel like I was being pushed buy anything. This was the second redwing I have went to. I didnt feel like the guy in the old Riverdale store cared. But this store offers the best shoes and best customer service. Buy here and you will not be disappointed.
