How Shane Company Ruined My Engagement: It goes without saying that I am absolutely thrilled to be engaged to the love of my life. A ring can not create this feeling, and the lack of a ring could not change this feeling. However, a ring is supposed to be a beautiful, carefully crafted symbol and staple of any engagement. This was not the case at Shane Company. In fact, while it should have been the happiest time of my life, the first two months of my engagement were filled with heartache and frustration, thanks in full part to the carelessness, laziness, and dishonesty of the jewelers and staff at Shane Company in Duluth. A bit of background on the couple -- I met my fiance while living in Atlanta, then relocated to the Raleigh area for work/school. So we were dating long distance, and since Shane Company is only an Atlanta-based jeweler, any visit to them by me required an extensive amount of travel. Shane Company was made aware of this from the beginning. My original ring was gorgeous. However, the diamond was placed in crookedly and incorrectly, and my fiance was also lied to at time of purchase about the availability of coordinating wedding bands. The options they gave us to amend this first situation were limited, so we decided on a different setting. This setting too, was done incorrectly, with the diamond placed in crookedly. Additionally, the diamond was not even placed into the setting. While the model had the diamond nearly flush to the halo, ours was entirely floating way above the halo setting. We later found out that, despite being assured by sales staff that it was a perfect fit, our diamond was too large for this setting. This was infuriating. We had already spent an enormous amount of time traveling back and forth to fix ring-related issues, and they had sent my fiance back to Raleigh with a ring they knew was not properly set, just hoping we would not notice. Adequate quality controls very apparently do not exist. Additionally, the ring was still way too big to wear, as Shane staff, against my opinion, did not fit the ring to my true size. In addition to the emotional toll of not having a ring to wear for the first 8 weeks of our engagement, there have been a total of four trips either to Atlanta (for me) or to Raleigh (for my fiance) specifically to sort out ring-related issues. Including travel both ways, over 3,000 miles have been driven due to the company’s carelessness and dishonesty. This does not include the time and stress of several visits my fiance has had to make back to the store to sort out these issues. It has also been a huge time drag for discussion and source of stress between the two of us during what should be the happiest time of our lives. We are both very much looking forward to when our time with this company is over. The dishonest behavior and sloppy work we have experienced with Shane Company thus far have been completely and utterly unacceptable. Additionally, to date, the only reparation Shane has offered us for all of this emotional, time, and financial (travel) induced stress is staff complaining that we have been back to their store too many times. Astounding.

First time I came there was during work hours (I was in a suit) and received excellent service. However, one of the employees that worked with me never followed up via email or call like he said he would. I came back in a couple of weeks later or so on my day off (in sweats) and it took about 10 secs for someone to acknowledge I had entered the store (not typical from my first experience or what Ive heard from others). Then as I was being serviced by the same gentleman who didnt follow up with me, as he was talking with me, he asked me to hold on while he attended to them (mind you there were at least 2 or employees that could have attended to them)... It was also weird that when I walked in, for whatever reason he didnt not acknowledge or remember me and I had to remind another employee that I had worked with hi before (mistake on my part). After he attended to the new clients, I decided to leave. Ive heard nothing but rave reviews, which is why I came. However, that is not what I experienced during my second trip.

I had great service when I went in a few years ago in my business suit, but today the service was horrible. Wearing my jeans and sneakers this time, I was ignored for fifteen minutes by the salespeople who outnumbered the customers at midday on a Tuesday. I could not believe they actually looked me in the eye on several occasions and never said a word! As a national salesperson myself, I was truly horrified that they would judge me based on my appearance. I took my money to the small jeweler virtually next door, and received impeccable service and probably the better price anyways. Who needs a "friend" in the diamond business like that?

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! Went in on Valentines day... Darrah was AMAZING! They were quite busy and she juggled between 3 customers VERY WELL...giving us all equal attention. She helped us review what we were looking for then went to the back to check stock and came out with options for us that matched our specifications exactly-Great Memory! It was 30 minutes prior to closing and we were determined to get out of there on time and let them go home but Darrah never complained and assured us not to worry. We will definitely be buying from Shane Co!!!

Great diamonds, and warranties, but make sure you dress in a suit ,if you are young because otherwise they push you off to other associates, and start helping someone who just walked in. Came in twice ready to buy, first time nobody would show me diamonds, second time 4 different associates started to help then passed me on, I did get an engagement ring here , If my fiancé did not love shane co I would have gone somewhere else. Great warranties though.

I was so impressed with this store. Getting our wedding bands was one of, if not THE, easiest decision I had to make about this whole wedding process. Every sales person was professional and welcoming. They let us browse for what we wanted to try and helped select some themselves.
