Very disappointed. Wed been customers of this company for 2+ years and recently service declined terribly. Our very old A/C broke at the beginning of the summer and they quoted us $1700 to fix it. That seemed high so we got a few second opinions who told us that it should only be a few hundred dollars BUT they didnt have the skill/part needed for such an old unit. So I called the office and Karen assured me it was a fair price as this was actually a very involved repair that would take 2-3 hours and required taking the whole thing apart. Based on our good past relationship with them, we trusted that and agreed to move forward. We cant afford a new system at this time - very expensive project due to the way our place was originally built. In the end, the repair took 10 mins and our A/C broke again in 2 weeks. My husband felt bamboozled so he contested the charge. The manager at Dependable was apparently furious that we contested the charge (though I called and explained our intentions once we realized the repair only took 10 mins and then the A/C broke again). The manager threatened to come and rip the part off of the unit and refused us any more repair service until my husband removed the hold payment. Steve came by and did some addl work for us and my husband removed the hold. It has been over a month and they still have not come to fully fix our unit, they dont return my phone calls. We finally went and bought 2 portable units (which work GREAT, wish wed thought of that earlier) when it became clear that they wouldnt honor their word. Very disappointing to be treated this way after being a good customer for 2+ years. Considering reporting them to the BBB. Look elsewhere for your service if you can.

Dependable is highly over priced! $224 to change 4 filters in an A/C unit and they didnt even come with enough filters to complete the job the first time. As far as refrigeration, you would be better off trying yourself because these guys clearly do not know what they are doing. My walk-in coolers have gone down 4 times in the last month after "Dependable" repairs. They couldnt even find the compressor for one of the units and instead jerry rigged a different compressor and used duct tape to hold on the foam cover! I called another company out after this last instance and they had both coolers working within 12 hours, and were also able to find the correct compressor in less than 5 minutes. Dont waste your money or your time. This business has no sense of urgency that the restaurant business is looking for in a repair company. "Oh your cooler is down again even though we just fixed it, okay we will be there sometime today" not exactly what you need to hear when you are throwing away product daily. This may at one time been an awesome company but as one of their former employees told me as he worked his last day cleaning some of my units, "Dependable isnt so dependable anymore"

The tech Gary came out to our house on July 5 and informed my husband the a/c needed 3 lbs of Freon, which cost $343. I than received an email from the company that provided detailed information about Garys findings. In the email, he writes "signs of small leak in evaporator coil". On July 15, I experienced the exact same problem I call the company for 10 days earlier. I believe Gary didnt tell me about the small leak because he knew the Freon would leak out and I would call the company again. It is my opinion he would have informed us of the small leak and advised us to replace the coil. I called the company and explained to them what Gary had done and told him I believe he had been deceitful in not informing us of the small leak. She said she would inform the manager and have that person to give me a call back. That was two days ago and I have not heard back from the company. What I will never do is use the services of Dependable again, and I wanted to inform future customers of my experience with the company. I called out another company and the problem with my a/c has been fixed.

Our medical refrigerator stopped functioning in early July. The tech from Dependable diagnosed the problem as a faulty Digital Controller and temp probe, based on the error codes. When the replacement Digital Controller arrived - 8 weeks later - it displayed the same error codes. I can only conclude the Digital Controller was never faulty and the 8 week wait was not necessary. OK mistakes happen. The tech showed up 4 hours after the scheduled window, to install the parts and at the end of the day. He determined the work would take "too long" and left. Now, the next morning, after several calls to the main office, I am told that we will need to wait another 5 days for the tech to come back, despite the urgency of almost $250,000 worth of vaccines at risk. I was told they had larger projects that I assume were worth more in revenue for them so we would have to wait despite the missed appointment, the faulty diagnosis and lack of communication. I am giving 2 stars because the tech had showed up two times prior, even though unable to repair the refrigerator.

In December our Samsung dryer went out. It took 2 days to get a rep out, then he diagnosed the issue as being a bad fuse, causing the heating coil to not heat. He had to order the part, which took a week to arrive. He installed it December 18th, $300+. Today, 2 months later, the exact same thing happened (dryer turning, no heat). When we called "Dependable" they informed us that they have a 30 day warranty and we would have to pay for the whole repair ourselves! Theyre sorry, but thats their policy. We will never use them again! Aside: We called another company, their worker diagnosed the issue as being the coil itself (uh oh!), he left my house to pick up the part himself, and had the dryer up and running in 2 hours for $165. He will give me a 90 day warranty on all parts and labor. Shop around people!

Our refrigerator water filter housing was leaking. The repair was done well and for a fair price. My only complaint was that we were given a noon-5pm time frame. At 4:30pm we hadnt heard a word so called to make sure they were still coming. We were told the technician was just arriving at the appointment before ours. Shortly thereafter, we got a call from the tech saying that it would be about an hour before he would get to us. He arrived at 6:30pm. In todays world this is unacceptable. No one should have to wait 5 hours, call to get an update after 4 1/2 hours and then have the tech arrive 1 1/2 hours after the original window. They are obviously over scheduling their staff. If unexpected problems occur during the day, the company not the client should call.

This company tried to take advantage of me while my husband was out of town. They wanted to replace the A/C motor and capacitor. After quoting me, they called back later to tell me I needed another new part as well. When all was said and done they wanted almost $1000. I called another company for a second opinion. It cost me $109, including the service charge, and my A/C was working within 20 minutes. I called Dependable to ask for a refund of my service call and no one would return my call. I decided to hold for a manager on another call and they put me on hold and did not pick up. After misdiagnosing the problem, they didnt even have the courtesy to speak with me. I will be reporting them to the BBB.
