I thought my first time trying on a wedding dress was going to be a special occasion. We drove almost two hours from Tampa because I thought I would have the best bridal gown experience here. My family was ignored, and only I was offered a drink (a tiny bottle of water). I asked my sister/Maid of Honor to come in with me to try on the dress and they stylist said no, that she was capable of helping. She never asked me what I was looking for, what my style was, or to show her pics. The gowns range from 2-14 thousand dollars. She didnt introduce herself to my mother or soon-to-be mother in law. It was just a very cold and awkward experience. After I told her I was on the lower half end of that range, she had an attitude and made me try things on I didnt like. Although I wasnt spending 14 thousand dollars, I still had a fair budget. There was one gown in particular that I slipped on and I told her I already know I dont like this and didnt want to walk out of the room to show my family. She said to just show them. So we did and I was trying to be nice and I said I would like it to maybe change into, but not as my gown. Rudely, she said, "Ok you dont like it, lets take it off." Youre right I never liked it, which is why I didnt want to come out wearing it in the first place. The last dress was the one we liked out of the 5 that I tried. She asked me very awkwardly, "Are you saying yes to the dress? So that I can pop champagne?" I was like really? I was sort of expecting that as soon as we walked into the door. Anyway-- I said that I really like it but I wanted to compare it to something else that I also really liked. I asked what else they had with a low back and lace that I could try on at she replied with, "It is not good to try on too much because all you do is get confused." Then she said, "I also dont like to show gowns three times the budget because then the bride falls in love and doesnt like anything else." Well, that really does make a lot of sense, but I already didnt like the five options and I wouldnt have said that if I wasnt willing to wiggle up a bit on my budget. I never said three times my budget, but higher was fine. Had she made the experience amazing and even showed me something a step above my range, I would have most likely bought it had I fallen in love. To conclude, I wish I hadnt dragged my family and best friend out there to be treated like that, but then again I am glad that I did because had I not-- I wouldnt have known the difference between what wedding gown shopping should be like and what it should not be like.

Disclaimer: Im not a "normal" bride by any stretch of the imagination (I worked in theater costume design and Ive seen/made/tried on a ton of dresses in my day). I think I tried on about 80 dresses by the time I hit The Collection. The other bridal shops rushed me through the process and I didnt feel like I was a person, just a number. The fabric on a lot of the dresses elsewhere also felt cheap. At the Collection, Shainna was my bridal consultant and shes a firecracker! Were both about 51 tall, so she understood my needs as both a short bride and someone who has seen A LOT of gowns. I found my Monique Lhuillier dress during a trunk show in May of this year (and I made Shainna work, poor thing, trying on some very heavy dresses). Fast forward, my venue falls through, and my date had to change from early fall to deep winter. I called and spoke with Roya, who told me that, while unusual, she completely understood that everything had changed and the venue went from an outdoor woodland ceremony to a Grand historic library in downtown Baltimore, so she invited me in to try on more venue- and seasonally-appropriate gowns. Shainna called me up and talked to me so she could pick dresses on her end, and even got Monique Lhuillier to SEND my dream gown to them! When I arrived, she gave me a big hug, made me feel so welcome. My mother was unable to be there (Im originally from DC) so Roya was both a stand-in Mom as well as a great second opinion. They even stayed late with me to get all the measurements and called Monique Lhuilliers production consultant to make sure they could make an adjustment in the dress, just so I would have peace of mind THAT SAME MOMENT when I bought my dress. By the way, it was the one they flew in for me, but that didnt stop us from trying on others "just to be sure." :) Love you guys, you are really top notch! Thank you thank you thank you so much for all your time and energy. Ladies: If you have a generous budget for your gown, seriously, listen to me and all the other reviews up here (notice theyre all 5-star reviews) and GO TO THE COLLECTION. Seriously, theyre amazing.

The Collection Bridal and Jessica Fama both deserve 10 STARS!!! They are amazing! My stylist was Jessica Fama and she is absolutely amazing. I got everything besides my shoes at The Collection Bridal. The seamtress is so detailed, the store itself is so cozy, chic and comfortable. Everyone gets to know you on a personal basis and they really go above and beyond to try to accomodate you. I drove all the way from Jacksonville Fl for fittings and they were able to accomodate my schedule. My wedding was also a destination wedding and they were so kind to do all my alterations within the time frame that I needed it to be done. The accessories are so georgeous and I was able to get those there also. I had such a great experience, my dress was perfect, my veil and accessories were perfect.. Everything was just perfect and it was all tailored to fit my personality, my look and what I invisioned for an entire wedding dress ensemble. Thanks Jessica for all your hard work! You listened to me from the very begining and knew exactly what look and type style dress I was wanting!! They have such great and unique designers. I still to this day get such great compliments on my dress and it was definately the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. Thanks Collection Bridal for having Inbal Dror as part of your collection. If I could I would sleep in this dress and wear it to work everyday. I am that in love with it even though I am already married..lol. Thanks guys, you are the best!

Initially, I hadnt heard pleasant things about this store but I looked past them a decided to go anyway. It was my first day looking at bridesmaid gowns with my girls and when we first walked in, no one acknowledged us. When finally an older sales woman, Nancy came over and began to ask us questions and show us dresses. Once we saw the price tag for a dress $290, we were like well, maybe we should tell your our budget which was $200 (A REASONABLE AMOUNT TO SPEND) and she looked at us, turned her nose up and said, "You wont find anything here" and WALKED AWAY! Despite being furious we browsed and found A LOT of dresses under our budget. Then the manager came over, asked if wed been helped when I told her what her associate Nancy did to us, she couldn’t believe what she had done and immediately began helping us. But we were already so upset we tried on a few dresses and left. I understand its a nice place, I mean my dress was $4000 from another place but to spend over $200 on a bridesmaid dress? Overall VERY rude, VERY "better than everyone feel", and VERY unorganized bridesmaid selections. I do not recommend this place to anyone no matter your budget. You are NOT supposed to be treated like that during the happiest times of your life.
