Well today I thought was the day. I took work off early and headed to a local gun store that I have been to in the past. Ive been to the Gun Show at the fair grounds. Ive been to various shops around town, but today was the day I had money in hand ready to make my first purchase. Gun in mind? The Kel-Tec PF9. Nice, small, light weight pistol that I want to carry once my CCW comes back from Tallahassee. Online Ive seen it for $260. In the past this shop said he would sell it for $280. Pistol under $300 and deal! So I walk into this shop thinking I will finally own a firearm. Im looking around and see that totally different people are working that Ive never seen before- but that is okay... okay until it takes them 10 minutes to notice me. As I browse, I am listening to the man behind the counter. He is showing revolvers to a group of 3 gentlemen. As I listen in closer, I get shocked. The salesman is hispanic with that "ghetto drawl". Using slangs such as "hell nah homie" and "thats right my n***". He goes on to tell the men hes not aloud back in New York and thats why he is here in Tampa, FL. Hes here in Tampa because New York will not allow him back because he is accused of attempted murder...>***? Is this guy serious? Did he really just share that with 3 potential buyers and loud enough for me to hear? Do I really want to buy a firearm from this clown? He goes on to show the 3 men how to "gangster holster" the revolver. At this time I forget I even want to buy a gun, and I am amazed at this clown trying to sell a piece. Long story short, after seeing they wanted $439 for the PF9 because it included the laser in which they wouldnt part with, and the lack of customer service and clowns working there, they lost a customer for life.

Seriously the worst service I have ever encounterd. The owner (Charlie) is so smug and doesnt even acknowledge customers. I seriously waited in front of him for 30 minutes while he took several personal calls and then he had the nerve to tell an associate he couldnt speak to me, right in front of me. He said he had to go sell an HK. So as im leaving and walking out i finally say thanks Charlie for the service and he speaks to me for the first time and says he is so busy thens starts to boost about this new gun shop hes opening and bars he owns etc.. In the time it took to tell me about his mediocrity success he could have assisted me. I decided to come back another day thinking perhaps i caught him on a bad Day; not the case. Again he completely ignored me i waited in his shop for another 20 minutes before another employee assisted me. While im waiting for this colleague of his he has customers waiting for service and he decides now is a good time to try a comppresor he took on trade earlier in the week. In addition he had a prostitute standing on the corner of his building and crack heads at the entrance asking for money. His prices are super high, the products are out dated and non brand the customer service is horrible. Do yourself a favor and go up the street to shooters world you will be glad you did.

I had never been treated with such disrespect. I walked in that store with $2,000 ready to buy an AR-15 and whatever leftover of 556 ammo. That day I was riding my bicycle, because I try to keep in shape. Upon arrival to the store, I was greeted by an old man with the words,"What do you want?"As he reached the counter, he noticed I had brought in my bike and said to me leave that outside. I replied sir, you do not have a way to tie my bike down, this is not a good area, and my bike is very expensive. He replied to me that he didnt give a s**t. At that time I turned my bike around and rode it to Shooters World. Once there, I purchased and AR-15, 200 rounds of 556 with a year worth of membership. They even watched my bike for me while i went to pick up my truck. If you need anything gun related, go to Shooters World and skip this place all together. An alternative if you are closer to 301 is Shoot Straight. Both of these places will treat you with the utmost respect and excellent customer service.

My last 2 guns (both Springfield .45s) were stolen several months ago. Im a college kid, and am shopping on a budget, so I went to several shops for pricing of a new firearm. I walked in their shop with $700 cash and found a Springfield at a great price. I stood around and waited for someone to address me. There were two people in the shop, and after about 7 minutes and not so much as a hello, I walked out. About 4 days later, giving their "team" the benefit of the doubt, I walk back in (with cash in hand) and again, was ignored. I work as a shift manager at a restaurant, and despite the fact that I cant stand most people, I put on my smile and treat every person that walks through our door like royalty as they buy their $8 dollar meal. University Gun must just be making too much money, which is good, as I can assure I wont be attributing to their seemingly overstuffed cash drawers.

Will never step foot in this store again, Over priced, out dated. At first I was talking with an older gentlemen who did nothing but curse and try to be fancy with his words and terminology. At first I gave him a shot, didnt seem like he knew a whole lot except from what he did in his military days. Then a younger white guy who seemed nice, but was Verry rude when I was talking to him about a purchase.if I had any advice for this place is to take a customer service training course, respect your customers or you will never see them again. I maintained being nice with the staff and refrained from saying a few things while I was in their about their device...I know to shop now, NOT UNIVERSITY GUN AND PAWN

I stopped by their store and found a great gun for an extremely fair price, and I wasnt even looking to buy one. :) Their staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable without having the typical "we know it all" attitude that makes me immediately walk away from most shops and they have an excellent selection of quality arms. Im very thankful to them and glad I decided to just stop in for a minute while passing by on the way home from the VA hospital. And, in case anyone wonders if I know of what Im talking about on their prices and knowledge, Ive been in the Marine Corps, Navy and Army, so I know a little more than the average person about these things.

Been in here a few times, came in the other day and had another great experience. I cant say I know what any of these idiots commenting on here are talking about because Ive never had any problems, and honestly I cant find better prices anywhere else. Maybe they just came on an off day or something but theyre also making the shop much nicer and more professional. I think the "old fat guy" is the gentleman who does the paperwork, but again when I went in we had a nice chat and he was nothing but nice to me. All in all I have zero complaints or problems and nothing but praise!!! They gave me a great experience.
