I went in expecting a 10 minute guided try-on session of headphones, but it turned into a really great hour long discovery with James (their headphone specialist) of what Im looking for in my future cans! Even better, their prices on headphones are about the same as what you can find online, so when Im able to Ill definitely be supporting them. Update: I went a second time to see if I could narrow down my purchasing choices and unfortunately James was no longer there. I was honest in my reasoning for going there to try headphones so I could buy a side grade not available anywhere else except online. I understand the frustration of having a customer trying a product you sell only to buy them online, however due to the petty nature of how I was treated as a customer I no longer plan on ever visiting again. I was passive aggressively told that it wouldnt make very much sense for me to come in and try a specific headphone that Ill buy online later. To be clear, the only reason for me to do that is if the dealer couldnt get their hands on it, which was unfortunately the case. They even went so far as to remove the headphone in question so that I could not try them without their petty supervision. But now that Ive been left with a bad taste in my mouth Ill take my future business elsewhere. Its too bad considering I had recommended them for audio equipment and home theatre set ups but now they wont have mine or my friends business.

I have been working with Clarke and Steve at AV South for a few years. Both of them are true professionals in their field and will proactively work to provide the best service that is available. They originally came into my house to unravel a extensive mess that two other AV installers had created. At the beginning they patiently corrected the mistakes that were made during the original set up including the extensive excess cables that other technicians left. Recently, I have had some minor problems occur. For me it is very comfortable to call them and know they will be able to promptly and efficiently address my problems. I know they will be there when my system needs an adjustment. My only regret is that I did not set up the system with them when I built the house. I used the company that the home builder contracted with, spending thousands of dollars that I can honestly say were wasted. I then worked with another company and again wasted a significant amount of money. AV South is a quality company with vast experience. AV South is not inexpensive. However, I would have saved that significant amount of money I paid the other companies if I would worked with AV South from the beginning!!

Okay, four stars for the sales staff who took the time to let me "try on" various speakers until I settled on a pair of Bowers and Wilkens. ZERO stars for service. I brought my McIntosh amp and preamp in to be serviced and brought up to spec. After waiting MONTHS for the service to be completed, I paid an extortionate amount of money to get my equipment back. What they did, I have no idea but apparently they dusted off the inside and replaced a missing screw. The right channel output is still not working correctly (the main problem noted when I gave it to them). I feel that because I have vintage equipment with no intention of immediately upgrading, they just couldnt be bothered to care about the state of my equipment and outsourced to a less than meticulous repair center.

Disrespectful, in a word. I called ahead to schedule an appointment, but when I got there the next day, the equipment was not setup as promised. I was met with so much skepticism (about my knowledge, ability to purchase, etc) and felt like I was being interrogated and spoken down to the whole time. AVSouth lost out on $15,000 worth of a cash sale because of poor treatment. I was very happy to take my business elsewhere!

Horrible company. I had them come out to install my system and was told that it wouldnt cost any more than $1100. They then hit me with a $2100 bill. It put me in a position were I was obligated to pay because the installers wouldnt leave without a check. Classic bait and switch. On a positive note. The installation is very clean and looks great.

You should be shopping at AV South If you are looking for the very best in Hi-Fi or Home Theater . They have a great selection and you can test drive anything before you make a purchase. The staff is courteous and have a deep knowledge base to help tailor a system based on your needs.
