My husband and I went in today (2/18/2017) with the intent to pick out and purchase a new couch. When we walked in we were confronted by the sales manager who kindly introduced himself and asked what we were looking for. We informed him we needed a new couch and he briefly explained that people shop at Havertys for the quality and then tried to sell us in to going straight back to the clearance section. He explained that he even shops from the clearance section himself. He explained that of course because it is the clearance section there would be some imperfections and custom orders but that the prices were low. He didnt really introduce us to the main floor at all. So we walk through the store and see the doors to the clearance section, decide to check it out, and it was like walking into a "where the sausage gets made" sort of area. The juxtaposition between this area and the main sales floor was like night and day. It was warehouse in appearance, the pieces were damaged and out dated, and no one was back there to answer our questions or to even attempt in selling us anything. So, we returned to the main floor and proceeded to look at pieces we had actually came to look at and decided not to purchase after overhearing a different salesman welcoming in another couple by introducing them to the main floor, inquiring what they were interested in purchasing, and discussing the stores Presidents Day weekend sale - a conversation we didnt receive. My husband and I are approaching the ages of 27 and 28. We look younger than most people in their mid-late twenties. We were casually dressed and well kept and clean in appearance. We felt completely written off as people who could not afford to shop at the store we had chosen to do our business at. As if based on a glance at our appearance and our youth that we werent worthy enough and assumed to not be wealthy enough to do our business at this Havertys location. I am a local school teacher and my husband was previously hired by the state and now employed by FSU while working on his PhD. We are respectable and kind people. We will not be doing our business at this Tallahassee Havertys location for this purchase or future purchases, and we will discourage our family and friends from doing the same.

Im writing this review because I feel people should be told the truth. I bought a table from Havertys in Tallahassee, FL just a little over a year ago. I was told by a salesman that guardsman was much improved from what it had been. For instance he said you can just call instead of having to send in papers and all of that. I told him I move a lot and was worried if things where damage that it wouldnt be covered. No worries with this plan EVERYTHING IS COVERED. And if I had any problems call the store. I believed him. Now that I made a claim what do think I was told? Yep, its not covered. I called Havertys three times and was put to voicemail. I left a message that I was going to come to the store. Within two minutes I was called back by Amy who said she was on the other line? Im waiting on a call back from store manager tomorrow. I will update this tomorrow to let everyone know what happened. Im asking that Havertys exchange the table for a new one or fix it correctly. I will be putting pictures up soon. I hope this is useful. If they do make it right, Ill edit and give them more stars.

Our in store experience was great with Havertys. They had a interior designer come out and help us find a couch, coffee table and barstools that would look good with our layout. Our sales person was very friendly. The only problem we had was with shipping. Unfortunately they order the wrong height bar stools, our coffee table was cracked, and we only got half of our sectional because the other half was ripped. We then had them order the correct height barstools and were told they would be there the following weekend. The next weekend came and we didnt receive a call saying they were coming, so we followed up only to find out that they had told us wrong and they wouldnt be coming for another month. After waiting another month we got ANOTHER call the day before saying our shipment was messed again and they to reschedule. While I understand mistakes happen, this has been going on for a while now and has been quite a hassle for us to work our schedules around over and over again. This will be the 4th time they have had to come out here.

I am very disappointed with my experience at Havertys. I purchased an expensive couch and love seat from the clearance section. I inspected the furniture and sat in it and did not see nor hear any problems. Within a few days of being delivered, both pieces began to pop, for lack of a better description, suddenly when sitting in them. I immediately called Havertys customer service. To summarize, a phone representative said he had found a loop hole to be able to help me even though the furniture was bought from clearance. Havertys customer service called me and left two messages indicating they would make this right, but when I actually tried to schedule service, they said they had to charge me for a very costly service call. I believe Havertys knew the furniture was damaged and may not pop when a customer tested it on the floor, because it does not pop every time. Unfortunately the popping seems to be getting worse - louder and more frequently. I would have to say, "buyer beware" when shopping at Havertys.

The warranty is a rip off! And the quality of their furniture is abismal. I have a sectional that has 2 recliners needing repair. One the mechanism broke, which they told me in May was covered. Still waiting for guardsman to come perform the repairs. The other recliner, has just collapsed. I was told that wasnt covered... the sectional has 6 total chairs, one has completely collapsed and that is not a warranty item. Do not let them sell you the warranty. It us not worth the piece of paper it is written on! I would give them no stars if possible!

Went to the location to purchase a discontinued bed, the Store manager agreed to a 25% discount off the selling price but then reneged when he found out the order price had dropped by $200 from $1499 to $1299 $1299 is a very high price for a discontinued bed frame, the store manager and the sales manager should know their prices before making concessions to customers. Not keeping your commitment shows how much you value your customers. My recommendation is to buy from a place that stays behind what they say

Quality furniture. Outstanding customer service from ordering to delivery. I needed one thing fixed and they got right on it. This company clearly values their employees and has created a culture of excellence. I made the mistake of ordering a few items from Rooms to Go, and had a much worse experience. I will be getting all my future furniture from Havertys.

Nice place with a lot of good quality furniture, but even though the salesperson emphasized a price reductions, the prices were like sky high. Its really goo furniture, but too expensive. Even Ashley have lower prices.
