Normally a Brandon Aldi shopper but hit up SCC on my way from the beach. Store was new, clean and aisles were bigger than other stores which was awesome because navigating those stores can be a bear sometimes. The part that rubbed me the wrong way was the manager, Lori. First part of my visit she was hauling around pallets of fruit and other merch with a pallet jack giving the customers major side eye as she had to dodge them to get to her destination. This was an hour and 15 minutes before closing, so its not like we were imposing on closing duties. Fast forward to check out and there is one young cashier checking out patrons-the line is stacking up and its about 5 carts deep at this point. Another associate is feverishly cleaning counters and check out lanes and glancing over her shoulder seeing the line stack up so she opens a lane to clear the back up. You can tell shes worried about her closing duties but shes also worried about the customers. My curious five-year-old even questioned as to why she was putting things in the cart so fast and she commented that she had a lot of work to do. She finished checking me out and went back to her cleaning duties. Lori came out and asked her if she cleaned the bathrooms to which she told her no not yet and Lori proceeded to tell her youve only got an hour left I dont want to hear your excuses and other berating comments all in earshot of the customers, then disappeared into the office again. Meanwhile... while the front end was stacking up Lori was nowhere to be seen and this young girl was obviously trying to just get the customers handled amd get back to her duties. You could tell this woman had a chip on her shoulder for the younger ladies. The Aldi stores I frequent have a great mix of employees that seem to get along and work really well together. This store appeared to have quite the opposite. There was nothing personable about Lori and it was totally obvious the girls were very under appreiated and spoken down to on a regular basis. Maybe Lori was having an off day, but those girls working her front end didnt deserve the less than managerial treatment, especially in front of customers.

I love ALDI and this is a great location. This particular store has very helpful staff too! I paid for a lot of lawn chairs and side tables and absent minded I drove away and left some behind. Two weeks later I come in, and they were holding them for me, even tho these sold out and others wanted them. They had pulled my receipt to ID the buyer. Amazing. So GREAT staff! Its not as busy as other ALDIs (yet). But you really need to understand how different ALDIs is from other stores. Bring a quarter to unlock a cart, youll get it back when you push it back into the rack. Bring your own bags or buy them there. Organic items are way below others prices. Get grass fed ground beef, eggs, cereals, baby food pouches, baby spinach, etc. Their own brand is over 50% of the store, thats why people go there. They dont take coupons. If you dont like off brand - dont go. I think their brand is great quality. Their bread, egg and milk prices are better than Wally world and better quality. And their stuff is always fresh because this small footprint store rotates quickly thru the 20% of items we are most likely to buy. You can get in and out quickly. Imports, they have a nice selection of imports in chocolates, breads from France and Germany, Cheeses, Soups, etc. Weekly special items change and once supplies are gone they are gone. Well stocked, but weekly sales items sell out fast. Lawn and garden items, toys and kitchen products get rotated each week. The only thing I would not buy here is tech items like their small tablets. If saving $$ and still enjoying organics and imports is important to you, come on in. Just dont forget your quarter.

Compared with other Aldi stores I find this one a bit disappointing. First, this one is a overpriced. I will occasionally stop in the Bradenton store when I am that area and the prices are MUCH lower on many items, like milk, eggs etc. It doesnt make sense that this store is not priced similarly, when they are only 20 miles apart. The selection of produce is good an well stocked, but the cashiers THROW the food in the basket. Yes they need to move fast, but they dont have to throw my fruit and veggies in the basket. The final disappointment is that this store is in an area where people are overwhelmingly 50+. But there are no workers from that age group. This is disappointing indeed.

For a new store down the street, it was ok. To keep things basic, here are the pros: -Clean set-up on the inside -Simple -The only two workers in the store at the time were *trying* their best to stay nice. -Cheap stuff -I got a chance to make money off of pushing carts in and popping quarters out. Cons: -The carts outside were too messy for people to go through by sidewalk. -It would be nice if there was a self checkout or a small items checkout or something. -The cashiers need some sort of baggage help, it looks like a very tough job.

If you dont know Aldi, here is a quick breakdown: - This store is clean and new - The parking lot is usually very clean - Carts cost a REFUNDABLE (when returned) 25 cents - The carts are tidy and kept near the store entrance in two area (they are NOT untidy, b/c if you dont return the cart, you dont get your quarter back) - Cashiers do not bag (bring your own, bag your own) - Lots of organic items - Low prices on most items, lower than even WalMart - They accept Credit Cards, Cash, Checks, Debit Cards

I can not reccomend this store enough as the store is always clean offers amazing foods at discounted rates and has competent and reliable staff working at this location. Just remember to bring a quarter to be able to use their carts and yes you do get your quarter back. Then remember to bring your own bags and or totes to carry your groceries in and your golden.

The prices are very low here compared to mainstream grocery stores, but the quality of the food is high. They also sell organic foods here. The store is always clean and the cashiers are very fast. The parking lot is easy to get Im and out of. I would definitely recommend this store to friends and family.
