Buyer Beware. Assure you are very specific about your order. We spent $375 on a Coat of Arms at this store. Not only did it take them three months to finally deliver the product, when we received it, it was wrong. When we spoke to the owner of the store, she was rather condescending in her response. She explained to us that the image shown on the computer reflects what the Coat of Arms looks like, but that the ornamental pieces to the sides of the shield could be anything based on the order placed. In our case, the ornamental pieces have always been rose leaves. The computer system in their store showed our Coat of Arms correctly, with the rose leaves. Unfortunately, when we finally received the order, instead of rose leaves, it had unicorns on the sides. Now, I understand, that a cavalier (ornamental pieces to the side of the shield) can be different, but when you show a customer your Family Coat of Arms with a specific set of designs on the side, it is not unreasonable for me to expect that this is what I would receive. Worst of all, because the product took longer than 60 days to arrive, it is impossible to dispute the charge. I would strongly suggest you seek out another vendor to provide you with products about your family heritage.

Visited this shoppe while in St. Augustine, and an employee was openly xenophobic and islamophobic. They stated that Muslims should not go to airports "looking like that", and stated that Syrian refugees were not welcome because of their religion. As an activist for social change, I was disappointed by the opinions of a business that is to central to history, I would believe that any historian would have the knowledge to believe otherwise. As a Canadian visiting Florida, we have just welcomed refugees to Canada with open arms and we hope that as Americans you would be able to do so too. My experience at this shop was extremely negative and stirred by the bigotry of the employee. I will not be visiting this store again.

Each year, I travel with my students to St. Augustine and the first store I stop in at is the Coat of Arms Shoppe. The first year, I purchased my familys Coat of Arms, some padlocks, and a gargoyle. Each year, I stop by and just HAVE to purchase something-dragons, griffins, crosses, etc. I also check to make sure that the pewter Knights of the Round Table set is still available. Its always waiting for me in the window. I cant wait until the day Im actually able to make that purchase! The staff members are always pleasant and take their time with visitors. I never feel pressured or rushed, but always welcome.

Beware; if you dont already know your coat of arms you may not be getting accurate information particularly for Eastern Europe. My coat of arms is Polish so it is not the same as Western Europe. In Poland, many families belong to a coat of arms instead of one family to one coat of arms. Not only did they have the coat of arms wrong for my surname but was also wrong for the correct name of the coat of arms which is Gozdawa. When I brought the error to their attention no one was even interested. So buyer beware.

Cool, novel idea! Out front they had a book of names to check out your family history and you can go in and find out the etymology behind your name and its origins. Very intriguing stuff. The staff was nice & helpful in answering my questions and we ended up ordering our familys coat of arms on a plaque. At least have to check this place out, if not only to see the origin of your family name.
