Do NOT take your dog to be groomed in the PetSmart grooming salon unless you want them ABUSED by a groomer who is still employed there. Two months ago, I personally witnessed a groomer close to breaking a compliant dogs legs and screamed at him 3-4 times at the top of her lungs to the point the dog began shaking in fear. I cancelled my dogs appt. I asked for the grooming manager who was in the back room. I found the owner out on the floor and told him what had just happened to his dog so he could go see for himself. And, I found the female store manager and reported and shared I was going to report to the authorities. I left contacted Bay County Sheriffs Dept, Animal Control, and the local Shelter. All stated there was nothing they could do about it. I went by PetSmart today to see if that young lady was fired. Instead, I found out the groomer abusing the animal is still employed as a groomer there and the female grooming manager (with an unprofessional nose ring) stated "because I was reporting abuse of a groomer that my record is flagged and cannot book an appointment". This manager goes on to LIE about two other facts...she stated she was there when it happened (when she was in the back room) and the owner was there at the time (whenever I found him out of the floor. SO...the moral to the store is folks... PetSmart on 23rd which is supposed to care about preventing abuse and should support customers reporting situations has instead: continued to employ this abusive employee, lied, covered it up, and penalized the customer reporting abuse. Calling the National Animal Abuse programs and the PetSmart Home Office. II have lived here 25 years, came to this store, and this store is at an all time low. SEE the other 1 star ratings! IF you love your pet, take him or her elsewhere!

I thought this should be known....Today we brought "LauraBelle" our 5 month old golden retriever puppy to PetSmart for her to get a good bath, ear cleaning, and nails "grinded." Mind you, I bathe & clip her nails at home very often and have never had a problem with her but then they have sharp/jagged edges on them, so I was told I should take her to have them grinded. I didnt know this could be done but I guess its a popular service. We dropped her off and wanted to wait but they told us it would be a little while, so we opted to go eat next-door. When we got back she was still not finished so we shopped around the store. After a while I finally walked back there again to ask if she was ready when the girl at the desk quickly rolled her eyes and said, "I just finished her, so itll be a minute." I asked her how she did, being that this was her first trip to a "grooming facility." She immediately started telling me how "she had to be held down to clip her nails, and how it took two people to do it & the grinding, and then how she was freaking out and acted soooo scared the whole time." She went on about how she "couldnt even blow dry her because she was snatching away, and yelping." This did not sound right to me at ALL! Our dog is not like this, so I chocked it up to the fact that it was her first grooming experience and that shes only 5 months old. We get home, and I just had an uneasy/funny feeling. I start looking at her coat, then her nails and I find them jagged, sawed-off, bleeding. Im beside myself. I can NOT IMAGINE HOW MUCH THIS HURT!!!! I feel so bad for my dog. She didnt want me to touch them at all. Shes scared to death Im going to mess with them I guess, and shes acted funny all evening. Shes in pain!!!

I visited the store with two of my friends, their dogs, and our trainer to practice our canines obedience in a public place with other dogs as distractions. I have Autism along with my two other friends and we are currently working towards getting them certified as service dogs. We had been training for thirty minutes when our trainer was called over by an employee to speak with the manager who was on the phone. He told our trainer "to cease and desist" our activities and leave the store immediately due to a "conflict of interest". I would like to note this was on a Wednesday morning at 9:00am when they had just opened. I saw two other customers at the Banfield desk, a woman who had offered to help us with training, and a mother with her three children who all petted our dogs. Also, our trainer was not promoting his services to the fellow Petsmart customers. His attention was devoted to us and our dogs - not "stealing" potential customers. There was no conflict of interest. I feel as if we simply kicked out of the store for no valid reasons. I already feel uncomfortable in these types of social situations. Needless to say, this interaction had left me feeling incredibly ostracized.

Went to pet smart to purchase a goldfish for my 11 year old son. Mind you we were only buying One goldfish. When he finally picked a goldfish the little 19 year old sales associate (did ask her, her age) proceeded to tell us how to set up a tank for the fish. When she asked what size tank we had, and I stated it was a 10 gallon tank, She then, right in front of my child, stated "I cant sell you that fish, it will die in a 10 gallon tank. " OK people I am old enough to be this little girls parent and she is going to tell me i cant buy ONE goldfish and put it a 10 gallon tank, when they have multiple in a 7 gallon tank for display and many dead floating in the water. I quickly pointed out to her that she was being unprofessional and i would like to speak to her manager. She then rolled her eyes and got an attitude with me. Needless to say, I have the goldfish at home in a 10 gallon tank and he is happy and very lively. As for PetSmart that will be the last time i purchase anything or shop at that store. Dont need the hassle and the attitude of a 19 year old that has no schooling. P.S. would not even rate it one star, but to post this i had to pick one.

I took my white standard poodle and my bijon frise in to petsmart for grooming, wash, trim, blowout. They claimed that my poodle, Gypsy RosaLee, had matting on her ears, so they charged me an extra $6 to comb them out. Something that my regular groomer does anyway for no additional money. When I got Gypsy back out, her ears had been shaved except for a blunt 2 inches at the end of her ears. I am distraught. I am angry. I am disgusted. It will take a year to grow out her ears.My bijon frise, Pepe, is a medium size 20 pound dog who should have a round head, mustache, and fluffy body and legs, pufffy tail. Really? Not what I got back They shaved his legs and body. Really, yes they did.He has a pompadore topknot and a mustache, and fluffy tail. The rest of him is embarrassing. I am biting my tongue. For this I paid $105. I was robbed by these hackers. They are no more professional groomers than a drug dealer is a pharmacist. Did I mention that there was a small tick on Gypsys left hip? they left it there.
