***UPDATE**** Im well aware of your canned response tactics...What a Joke.... You try to appease me publicly, but should we try to call, youll do nothing to make this right.... Like i said earlier... Im a marketing director and deal with this sort of thing daily.... I usually hesitate to even write reviews, but this situation needed to be brought to light.... and as far as contacting you.... I assure you that my wife called and spoke to your "Service Manager" who did nothing other than to give "discounts" on a couple of things that were already jacked up well higher than my guy of years would have charged anyway. ******************************8 Im not one to usually write reviews. As a Marketing Director, I know the hassles that come from seeing someone trash your business reputation on the internet. With that in mind, the experience that my wife and her mother had at this dealership absolutely deserves to be known. My wife and I purchased a used Honda Civic (Not from this dealership, which is probably why Coggin DeLand Honda decided it was necessary to rip us off in the first place), and her mother who has always taken her Honda insisted that we let her take the car to this dealership for an oil change and to "look over" the car to make sure it was sound. Well thats where the issues started. First of all, they threw four new tires on the car at a rate of $119 each when i had already priced them from my tire guy (yep the same exact tires) for $70 each. Then they some how just knew without taking anything apart that the timing belt and everything it touches needed replaced. So, instead of giving an estimate and suggesting to them that it needed done... or even explaining why they felt the need to tear the engine apart to check that in the first place... THEY REPLACED IT ALL..... no permission given, just went ahead and did it. They supposedly performed an alignment (this is the one and only thing other than an oil change they were authorized to do), but it wasnt done.... i know this because it still pulls to the right... and MY TIRE GUY said there was no way they did it based on his machine (the same equipment Honda Uses)... My wife and her mother waited literally from 10am until 6:30 pm while they tinkered, and toyed, and did whatever else they could milk out of my Mother in Law. They saw her coming a mile away, and probably have been doing the same thing to her for years! Finally, after it was all said and done, a simple oil change and alignment which should have been quick and easy, came out to the tune of $2300. The worst part, is that they missed the fact that the struts need to be replaced, and neglected to fix the cracked CV Axle..... THINGS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED (but only after an estimate and permission was given).....This dealership is NOT TO BE TRUSTED! They will rip you off, perform unauthorized (and probably unnecessary) work to milk you for everything you have. ESPECIALLY if you didnt give them your money by purchasing a car from them.... Please for the sake of yourself and your loved ones, DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP. I am writing to the BBB about this and will take every action i can to make sure that this does NOT happen to someone else.

I bought a 2014 Civic on October 26th. Awesome car, and Steve Salgado was actually an excellent sales guy, knew the car well and was great to work with. Unfortunately thats where the good news ends. I had previously (in August) been pre-approved with a 2.9% APR on a 60-month loan on my own, but while at the dealer I found out something changed on my credit report, my rates went up, and I needed to sort that out before making a purchase. This is when Steve brought in Jason, a guy in the Business Manager office who we were told was in Finance - I still have no clue what he really is, hes not even listed with the staff on their website. Jason assured me that he had the ability to get me a loan at 2.9%, so we signed paperwork reflecting this, put down a significant down payment, and traded in our 98 Civic. All was well. Today - the 29th - rolls around, and Jason calls me up. Suddenly the dealership is unable to get me any better rate than 6.28%. I immediately drove the new car back to the dealer and told Jason that I wanted the 2.9% he offered right then and there or a full refund of my down payment and my old car back. I asked what happened, when I signed the paperwork he assured me that he could push the rate through and get me the loan I wanted no matter what pushback he got from the banks, but today he was at the mercy of the banks and couldnt do anything else for me. Instantly he was curt, refused to make eye contact, said he would get started on un-selling the car, then disappeared. I was met by a barrage of other sales guys and managers all trying to "make it right" asking all kinds of questions about whether I liked the car or not and trying to explain it wasnt them, it was the banks - I told them this was irrelevant, I signed paperwork reflecting a loan at 2.9% and was not willing to pay another 2k for the loan with them just because their finance guy felt like blowing smoke on the 26th. I would not have signed anything with any higher rate, the only thing that sealed this deal that day was Jasons supposed ability to get me this rate. After getting the run-around and snubbing the sales army for an hour, someone realized Jason had done nothing with the paperwork needed to get my refund. Finally got a few more people involved and got my refund, but then had to wait even longer for them to find my registration, assure me all contracts were void, and inspect the new car for damage. After the refund had been processed but while I was waiting on the other paperwork, Sanjay the Sales Manager made an admittedly generous / better offer on our trade which would have come close to negating the difference in APR, but by that point the experience with Jasons lies and the fight to reverse the deal had left such a terrible taste in my mouth I wasnt interested at all. They could have taken a few grand more off the cost of what I originally wanted and I would still rather take my money to any other dealer for any other car. If this is how this place tries to make sales, I cant recommend them to anyone. You may be fine if you arrange your own financing and know exactly what youre looking at, but these guys seem even less trustworthy than your average car salesmen.

So Happy with Coggin Honda Deland!!! I bought my very first Honda in life a few weeks ago (2011 Honda Pilot/used). I got it from a husband/wife car lot I thought I could trust, but realized shortly after (within days) that they had actually cleared dashboard warning lights to sell the car. After dealing with that nightmare, I started to do my own research on the problem(and SO GLAD I DID)!!!. I found that Honda has an open recall/extended warranty to cover this problem, which I was very happy about! I called the AUTO NATION Honda on Rinehart and I was treated terribly! The service tech at that dealership told me that it would cost me about $60.00 to scan the vehicle and about $150.00 to just reset the dash warning lights because he was sure my car had no problems and it wouldnt be covered by any warranty. All of this just speaking over the phone, never seeing my vehicle, the lights or driving it (because of the misfiring/hesitation as well) even though I had already had it scanned and reset 3 different times! My husband called back to speak to a manager & was told he wasnt available, so they took his number to be called back (that was 3 days ago & still no call). Thats when my husband called Coggin Honda-Deland. The service manager wasnt available but took our number for him to call us back. In a very short amount of time, Stew called us back. He was truly wonderful and listened to everything we said as far as the problems & what we went through up until that point. He also knew exactly what we were referring to and the fix that Honda was offering, but told us to bring it in so he could check it out! He even offered for us to bring it in immediately if we liked or whenever it was best. We chose the next day at 11:00am and he also told us that we would be working with Kelly as well as him. There was no charge for him to run the scan & not even a mention of another $150 to "just reset the lights", he actually wanted to find & fix the problem. We took it in on 8/15/17 and the professionalism and kindness from Stew & Kelly was amazing!! They truly treated us like family. Within minutes they had scanned my car and I was right about my research (which said may foul a spark plug & cause misfire etc)....I actually had all 6 of my spark plugs destroyed & completely burnt!! Sadly Honda only warranties 4 of them and I paid for the other 2, but what a difference this made! My research & his faith in listening to me made all the difference in the world. Stew & Kelly didnt try to sweep it under the rug, they didnt want to just get me to pay an upfront $200 for a scan & light clearing, THEY HANDLED THE PROBLEM with great care and I now have someone I can trust to go to; which is worth its weight in gold!! I will now recommend them to everyone because they are very deserving of it! I dont know the owner or General Manager of that branch, but if you/he reads this... Please know that they (Stew & Kelly) changed everything for me, which has also now given me some peace in actually buying a Honda. I truly thank you all, it is extremely rare to find that level of customer service anymore! Sincerely, Tiffany & Glen Promise
