Well.....I was very NEW to this Clothes mentor store...so I decided to give it a try last week and see how much i would get paid for so many NICE...not worn or ragged or cheap.... I had 41 Womens fine Designer clothing..including:Ralph Lauren Black and Blue Label Tommy Bahama, Banana Republic, Athleta..and some NEW with Tags, Some New without the tags ..all of the others worn one or 2 times...and taken clean ....so retail value of my lot was what I paid over $2000. ...they took all except 1 thing...but payment was $179. for the lot...I accepted that...and thought I would save judgement until my 2nd visit....So Today I took in 21 items,,,,all NEW with Tags...or New without Tags....Dresses high quality Tommy Bahama Dress / Casual Styles with matching fine weight sweaters...Banana Republic...etc and only 1 dress worn one time...some Banana republic tops same unworn but w/o tags...total Retail value I paid was $978.69....they did not take 3 tops which they said were not right style and they said the white Tank showed wear...well...yes...I guess maybe bc was worn 2 times and washed...so that can be considered worn???/anyway...thjey only offered me a disappointing $55.60 for this lot of gorgeous solid colored ...not loud but rather your basics black , brown ....very nice....I took the offer...but On my way home...huge regret...that was such a loss for me....so though I have Many , many more Designer Dresses, sweaters, pants, etc...NEW with tags, New without tags and some worn one ...maybe two times...and shoes all new in boxes...some without boxes...all designer, from Bloomingdales , Neiman Marcus, Nordstroms...all same high retail value...I have decided just to keep it and store it in the guest closet as opposed to just throwing money into their laps....Huge lesson for me......I did wander through the store while I waited and checked the merchandise out....By all means...the things I took in are the TOP quality and much , nicer and with tags ...than what is on their racks...After all ...their ad states the merchandise should be current from last 2 years at least...and what I saw...was NOT current...looked like things that had been in some old ladys closet for years...not all of it...but alot.....My things do not really belong there...So again...my lesson learned...Will not go back.... *****BUT...YES...if you are a buyer...sized small or Medium...6 or 8 ...definitely go now and find some awesome NEW and NWOT....and some gently worn one time items...some nice Little Black dresses for the Holiday ...brown with faux gem embellishments...etc...Good luck....

Today I went and gave Clothes Mentor (off West Colonial) a second try. I first went there when they initially opened, and was disappointed. The staff wasnt very nice - I kept getting dirty looks. I brought in some clothes to sell, and they didnt take any of it. They said they were looking for other brands, which I get. Im only in my 20s and its more of an adult clothing store. But I got the feeling there was some judgment against my age too. Fast forward towards today. I went back to sell some clothes for my mom. I went through all the clothes she wanted to sell before hand since I work in retail and sell a lot at Platos closet (meaning I know what they typically want). I went in there and got the same dirty looks. I felt uncomfortable. The lady at the counter talked down to me like I was stupid and then took my clothes and said come back in 3-4 hours. I thought that was an excessive amount of time to wait, especially since it was maybe at most 10 items that I brought it. I went back later to pick it up and they said they were going to pass on everything!! They claimed it was "too worn." I told her the shoes I brought were brand new and she looked that them and pointed out a tiny piece of string that was coming out of the bottom (they were wicker shoes... that happens). I was to say the least upset. I looked at some of the items they had for sale and they were way more worn looking than what I brought in. I definitely felt that I was being judged for my age, and I really ended up wishing I just had my mom bring in the clothes instead. No one should be judged like that in a retail, no matter what their age. I found stuff that I wouldve even bought there if they were kinder to me. I ended up losing money since it was a decent drive out for me, and my self-confidence definitely took a small hit. Needless to say, my mom and I will never try to sell or buy from there again.

Clothes Mentor has completely changed the way I shop! As far as luxury items are concerned, if I am looking for something specific, instead of heading straight to Millenia or the high-end outlets, I start at Clothes Mentor! I love the gems that I find every single time I walk into the store! You can find so many items that have never been worn, for awesome prices. I think the buyers are really great about researching luxury items and making a fair assessment about what they are willing to pay for the right items! When you look on the rack, you might see some older items, but I believe thats why they have gotten more selective, over the years! I have sold and purchased high-end items for extremely fair prices at this location! I have even purchased items from them and sold them to other shops for more than I paid at Clothes Mentor! I have been consigning for years, and when I moved to West Orlando, last year, I was elated to find a place (so close to home) I could sell to, where the staff was warm (as opposed to the pretentious staff that can be found at similar shops) and willing to give me the best possible price for my items, based on the expected profit. Now, I make it a point to stop in often to buy or sell! I prefer to deal with the management team (buyers/assistant managers), because some of the younger ladies seem less inclined to be helpful and have less of an eye for how to price quality items. No one likes to have their items rejected, or to get much less than they paid, but if you dont like the quote, keep your stuff! Overall, I feel like the (grown) women at Clothes Mentor are my friends, and I enjoy my experiences chatting, buying and selling to them every time I visit!

For my first experience at the store, it was not a good experience. I was very surprised at the poor customer service that I received. I hope in the future that customer service at this location can be improved. No one should speak down to people. You never know who you are speaking with...such as a President, CEO, media professional, Athletes wife, Minister, Pastor, Artist wife, School Board member, etc. Although it should not matter but you really ruin the reputation of the store. One bad experience is told to thousands over social media. I wont be able to be mistreated and shop at this store. Change should take place. After a personal apology letter from the manager on Jan 16th, 2017: I truly appreciate the apology letter and acknowledgment of the poor customer service that I received on December 30th. However, First impressions can never be changed. I really appreciate the manager stepping in and sending me a personalized apology letter that I will never forget. She also sent a gift card to visit the store again. I know she has great customer service and hopefully, her staff will follow suit so that their ratings will increase to higher marks.
