i got tattooed here about 4 weeks ago. WORST tattoo experience Ive ever had; this was my fourth tattoo. I told him the quote I wanted and that I wanted waves under it. I told him the font I wanted. When I showed up for my apt (15. Minutes early) he was still tattooing someone. Not a big deal since I was early. Little did I know I would sit there for TWO AND A HALF MORE HOURS waiting for him to finish. At one point, I asked how much longer it was going to be, he said 15 minutes, so I ran across the street and grabbed some food. I came back, ate my food there and waited another hour and a half. I should have known to leave then. Anyways, he finally gets done and shows me the sketch. IT WAS HUGE and not what I wanted at all. I hated the waves, the font was just regular print when I asked or cursive, he used the and sing instead of writing and. And he didnt put the dot dot dot that I wanted (...) so, he shrunk it down, shaded the waves and told me the way he ha the print and berthing written was the only way it would fit. He convince me that I would like I when it was done.... Well, I HATE it. He did Japanese style waves because thats all he can do, Japanese stuff. Im from Florida, not Japan. Im a beach bum, not a Japanese beach bum. The shading he showed me and talked about I not what he did. He just put random blue dots in my waves. And he outlined the waves in black. Ew. Anyways, tho tattoo should have taken a maximum of an hour...it took two and a half!!!! So he charged me 200 dollars. It was insane. If the tattoo was done extremely well, it should have cost around 100. But it cost double that and its a terrible tattoo. Lines arent neat, shading is terrible. So after that, my friend was getting tattooed. I know, our stupidity. Her tattoo should have taken around 2.5 hours but it took 5!!!!! My apt was at 5pm, we didnt get done until 3 am!!! Ruined all of our plans for the night. Anyways, he did a terrible job shading her tattoo, and didnt even color the top part. So weird. Also, the entire time he was tattooing her, he was basically crap talking me. (I was in the front room falling asleep) he said hes HATES tattooing quotes because hes an artist, he shouldnt have to write words all day. Well, he just got done doing my quote! He also said he hate when people complain about the pain. (Well, I was complaint the whole time!! It was the worst pain Ive ever had with a tattoo. I have my foot done, my back done, and my ribs done. When he did my arm, it was a thousand times worse than any of those. I have a puddle of blood on my arm the whole time. Ive never bled for a tattoo. He was obviously going way to deep and over working the tattoo!!!) he then went on to say he hates when people come in groups. Which we came in a group! It was me, my friend getting tattooed, and one more friend. Anyways, it was just a terrible experience. Also, my tattoo still isnt completely healed 4 weeks later. Its raised and probably always will be because he over worked it. During the healing process, I literally had a hole in my arm. It hurt sooooooo bad! Cant wait to get this thing fixed :((( waste of time, money, an an awesome quote. This was all brenden by the way.

Was treated with major disrespect, like a second rate customer or my money wasnt good enough there. I felt judged as soon as I walked in the place. The guy that I spoke with judged me onsight, treated me like I was stupid, and shot down every idea I had for a tattoo. There was another guy free and when the front desk dude asked if he was free for a consultation the dude took one look at me and was threw his hands up. Like no one wanted to deal with me or even talk to me. It really made me feel less of myself and Ill never go there again. And the tattoo buddy said he wouldnt be able to do because of the detail, another artist at an equally lucrative shop in Melbourne said he could do the whole the thing, the details, and placement on my arm where I wanted it....for literally a fourth of the price the guys a lowtide quoted me. This was maybe 2 weeks ago, but the experience really stuck with me.

Ive had 2 tattoos done by Matt and Ive loved both of them and the experience I had. The first was a cover up of an old tattoo that I was not satisfied with. I took my concept to Matt and he gave me a plan on how we would make it all work. It turned out amazing. I dont even see the old tattoo any more. The second was a tribute piece for the tragedy at Pulse. I again took my concept to Matt and he gave me some ideas on how he wanted to tweak it so that I had a unique piece and it wouldnt be a copy of what everyone else was getting at the time. Another amazing piece of work from Matt. Im planning another piece and will be getting in touch with Matt again soon.

Ive been getting tattooed by Matt "WhiteTrashMatt" Zimmerman for two years now and every time I go back, I am more and more impressed by his professional attitude, his extremely fair prices and most of all, his absolutely AMAZING artwork. I have not gone to a different artist because I cant find anyone with cleaner linework, shading and true artistic ability than Matt. Hes truly an artist whose input I really appreciate and who can grasp what I want better than any artist Ive been to before. I have been going to Matt at Low Tide (the owner) for years now and he has never been anything but amazing. He has done a few color and some black and grey pieces on me and they have all turned out better than I ever imagined. I even got to enter two of them in some tattoo contests (at Tattoo Conventions) and he now has trophies hanging on his wall from the work he did on me. Do yourself a favor and go and check out his portfolio, thats the only thing that you can really trust when youre going to get tattooed! Hes amazing and has my 110% recommendation!

I had my first tattoo done here by Matt, cant say enough positive things about this place or him. Made me feel right at home and explained every step of the process. I have ZERO art skills, so had to just explain the best I can what I wanted. He drew it up and it was even better than I had imagined! When he finished the tattoo, it was better than the drawing! I cant imagine how the experience could have been any better.

Absolutely the best shop around. You are treated like family and they do the best work at a fair price. These folks wont steer you wrong. If they tell you it is a good idea or not, its because of their experience and professionalism. Other shops do whatever will work for them to collect the money, not what makes a lasting piece of artwork on you! Second to none!!!! Thanks, Petey for another awesome job!!!
