I know what you are thinking, 5 stars for Winn Dixie, really? Especially if you have visited the location on Poweline in Pompano. Its definitely not 5 star. This location however is completely different than any other Winn Dixie I have ever been in. Its decor has more in common with Whole Foods and Luckys than it does other stores in this chain. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the gleaming wood floors. The store is huge and everything is clean, thus I am a fan. I am actually quite impressed by how the store has been kept up. It has been open for a few years now and it looks just as good as opening day. The reason I like to come here is for the incredible wing bar. They have at least 8 kinds of wings and you can help yourself to what you like. On nights that I dont feel like cooking (TBH most nights), I pick up ribs ($12) and a bucket of wings along with some deli salads and I am the hero in my house. In addition to their large deli they also have a great bakery and seafood counter. Of course Winn Dixie is known for its meat and this store is no exception. They have low prices on their extensive meat selection. On the day I visited spiral hams for Easter were in abundance for $1.79 a pound. Honestly why cant all the Winn Dixie stores look like this? They carry anything you would normally find in a grocery store and even some items you wouldnt. Best of all is their self check out. I love stores that offer this feature. I am at least ten minutes late in my day from the time I wake up until I go to bed. I dont have time to waste in a stores long lines. I have never had a wait in their self checkout line. On this trip I had a little trouble putting in my phone number for the rewards card. Rudy popped right up to lend a hand. Winn Dixie has recently changed its fuel perks program and they have now switched from Shell to Exxon and Mobil. Rudy brought his tablet over and while I checked out he signed me up for the new program. I even found a cute magazine that Winn Dixie puts out for free filled with tasty spring recipes and money saving coupons. If you want the large amount of inventory and low prices that a chain grocery store like Walmart provides but the cleanliness of a niche market like Whole Foods than this may be a grocery store you want to check out.

Now that they have Plenti cash back rewards, I find myself shopping there more often. (every point equals 1 cent) As of this post, I have 1260 points. Not much, but I just started. ;) When Winn Dixie first opened the place was beautiful. However, I wish Winn Dixie would do something about that odor. I mean it, its like they all smell, or smell different...? It must be the hot deli area. Maybe they dont clean well enough? Dont know. Anyone else out there agree? Either way, its still worth checking out! Not to mention there are a bunch of stores and places to eat in the same shopping center. Enjoy!

Went to the store in Peppertree Plaza by sheer accident. The store is gorgeous. The frest fruits and veggies are presented beautifully. The fresh cooked meals look incredible. I may never cook again! The aisles are wide and the people we spoke with were extremely polite and helpful. Congratulations on such a beautiful store. Food, is the way to make sure you have the energy to continue. Is like the gasoline for your car, the better the gasoline your car runs, the same happens to us, the fabulous selection in this store is beyond what you find in any other store in Coconut Creek, Margate, south Florida. The most important thing is their employees, Dominga> deli, Ann> wines, Vesna, Silvia-Pico> farmacy and so many others, that it will take all the space. We purchased 2 T Bone Steaks yesterday and opened them up today, to grill, and wowee were they rancid! Looked fresh as could be from the packaging and were not close to expiration. We returned them with receipt in hand without a problem. My husband then went to Luckys in Coral Springs where the meats are always fresh and at great prices. Once I pick up rancid meat from a grocery store, that pretty well does it for me. Its now Luckys or Publix, without exception!

STAY AWAY unless you want hard bread and rotten meat. Both of which I have received on multiple visits here. People have mentioned the hot and ready foods...are you serious, they arent even covered. Id be so afraid of the germs they contain. Chances are whatever you are looking for is out of stock if you go after 11am. Save a headache and possible food contamination and go to Publix or even Walmart down the street. Decent wine and beer selection.

11.30.09 Today this Winn Dixie was unable to fill my prescription due to a new pharmacist on duty because she had not ordered sufficient supplies. Neither the new pharmacist nor the store manager were able to provide the location of other Winn Dixie stores in the area. I found pages of store locations on the net and the store manager and pharmacist should learn how to use a computer to assist customers.

Love to shop here ever since the remodel got done a few years back. Not only does this grocery store have great prices, they also have a wide variety of pretty much everything you could want here. The deli section is also great to pick up a warm-prepared meal for a few bucks, and it sure beats fast food. Its also always clean here. Ive shopped here for years now and Im sure I wont stop anytime ever!

Awesome! I just love this store! Its always clean and neat. The deli, bakery,and produce dept, smells good, looks great. Meat and dairy clean and neat. "And", the customer service is A+++ I recommend this store to many. The management and staff are great! I live closer to the store on Atlantic and powerline and dont go there as its not the same environment as Pepper tree.

The staff are always amiable and helpful. The Deli Chris and Erma are always slammed with business and still find a way to make everyone feel like family while doing work as quickly and efficiently as possible. They all have smiles on their faces even when facing difficult customers. I always choose the one off 441 so I can get their service. Best by far.

Worst customer services ever. I will never go again. The girls working in the customer services center ignored me the whole time and when I asked them to help me they told me they were to busy and I have to wait. Rule #1 acknowledge the customer. Rule #2 Never say how much work you have, the customer dont care.

Thumbs up to the baker!! Almost every week, Im always ordering last minute cakes for the company on birthdays and every time the cakes come out amazing! Italian theme, Jamaican flag, Miami Heat, Beer mug, Princess cake; mostly anything you want she does an outstanding job & taste delicious!
