Bought a digital scale about 2 weeks ago I lost the receipt which I hope I wont need because I purchased a couple of gas engines at the same time that I have not installed yet and hope nothing is wrong with them now! I have spent thousands of dollars on Harbor Freight products! Any way The scale was a 19.00 digital scale never used I just cant get it calibrated so I took it back to exchange it and the Girl was so rude all I wanted was to swap it out for another and be on my way! well I cant do that because this that and the other thing! I said I purchase a lot of products from Harbor Freight 1 large lathe, 3 band saws, 2 mig welders, a motorcycle air lift, a small trailer, Air compressor, 3 - 14 inch wheel grinders, air staplers, milling machine and the list can go on!!!! Is this how to treat a customer and all she did was huff and puff trying to get rid of my wife and I ! I gave all numbers zip and phone to look us up and of coarse nothing matched or couldnt find us in the system? So I guess were out of luck and she I guess so! That was so totally uncalled for I cant even begin to tell you! So from now on I will pay a little more and go to Northern Tool for our shop supplies and or tools! This is the Fort Meyers Store and the girl was a Brunette and tall at the cash register! In case someone wants to know?

Even though the prices are rising at HFT, the tools, selection and prices are still among the best available in the Eastern US. I am (among other things) a handyman. I burned through DeWalt and Black and Decker (both made in China). I have since learned that similar tools at 20% to 30% of the price are available. If they break, buy another (versus paying a fortune to repair a DeWalt). A good rating is justified if you consider that HFT stores are warehouse like - not high-priced, lously service-like Lowes or Home Depot. IMHO, the stores are staffed to assist in finding items only. If a customer needs more support than that, go to a high-priced store and PAY to have a technical consultant advise you (then go to HFT and buy it for MUCH less). Seven years of using their tools only encourages me to return for more!! JUST 1 ADDED NOTE: The person(s) in charge of Marketing/Sales need an education in the promotion of the company - at the retail level. Profit is being burned unnecessarily with excessive mailings and other promotions that do not increase sales!! Ask me if you do not understand this. A 5% reduction in COS could easily be realized with only a minor change in the product/store promotional ads.

Both Store and Phone service is minimal at best. I recently visited the store and also called about the same large machine I was interested in. Both times the wait was long and the associate knew nothing about the tool. They verified that they had it in stock and gave me the price but these nice people know nothing about tools or machinery. Harbor Freight is simply a place to but stuff cheap. Some of it is good, some is bad and a lot of it is mediocre. The staff is untrained in assistance but they certainly do a lot of business selling cheep stuff. On a recent Saturday visit the fort Myers store had two registers open and lines twelve people deep. I decided I did not really need all the cheep stuff I had in my basket and left. There is no value other than cheep so my summary is one star. Amazon has the same stuff for the same cheap prices.

The current manager at this store is condescending and rude. Obviously not interested in a satisfied customer experience. She was nasty to me, and told me that it was NOT my lucky day that they were out of stock on an item. She stated this loudly and in the presence of a lot of other customers. The manager was also very loud and nasty to her employees, not at all concerned that customers witnessed her disrespectful treatment of the workers. If this were my store, she would be not have a job at Harbor Freight.

Even though its farther away than their other local store, I will go to it. The customer service is very good. The employees are much nicer as is the manager. They are actually willing to help. Only one employee was willing to give great cs at the other store & I was concerned he mightve gotten in trouble for it. Have been in a few HF stores in a few diff states the NFM is the worst one. Ill continue going to the FM store. They are much more helpful and kinder.

I love freight harbor tools. I have purchased all different kinds of tools from them, Usually i try to use them for accesories to help make jobs neater or more complete looking without spending a lot of money or time looking elsewhere. Keep in mind you get what you pay for with tools Keep your Craftsman and Snap On stuff its still better... this store has its place. If you do lots of projects or small jobs this is the way to utilize this store.

Not the best tools in the world but when you need a cheap tool quick youll probably find it here, among many other hard to find things. Check out is a pain ( nothing quick about it ) returns even more of a pain as you need to stand in the check out line and wait then go shop and wait in line again. If the store is crowded plan on being there a while.

Ive bought a lot of stuff at this store and theyve always been very helpful. The couple of times I had to return stuff they did it no questions asked. The staff seem knowledgeable and cheerful and their infantry well stocked. The store is always busy which I take to be a good sign that other customers are as happy as me.
