Skip the big stores with the confused 19 year old seasonal workers. Go to Lakewood Hardware, they know it all. Its locally owned, which feels good. It is rather amazing how they fit that much variety in that little building. I was lucky enough to be an apartment manager down the street from this little shop. I was never left wanting. Better yet, I was a newbie, and they helped me problem solve multiple times. Worth checking out.

Started to write "the way hardware stores used to be", but thats not true. More accurate is "the way great hardware stores used to be." Because this one is uncommonly great. All kinds of stuff, kept very tidily, and a pleasant, knowledgable staff that knows what you need, and where they keep it. And that great hardware store smell, of course. Check it out once -- you will likely stop going to those big places nearly so often.

It is amazing, if you go into the store there is always someone there to help you. If you ask a question they will go out of their way to get you a answer. If you go in to find a part most of the time it will be there in stock and you will also get a lesson on how to use what ever you purchase if you look a little doubtful. This is a great asset to Lakewood. Try it youll like it!!
