As corporate seems too busy to answer emails or surveys from customers complaints regarding purchases, I thought I should share on my epic disaster, furniture buying experience from City Furniture, located at North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Although the staff appears friendly & knowledgable, BEWARE! Its like feeding wild animals. They appear cute at first, but eventually you will get bitten! We told the associates Eglon and Simone we were having family for the Memorial Holiday Weekend and we needed patio furniture by the Friday before. Both agreed this would not be a problem. We did get our Friday delivery: one of the 3 pieces of a patio sectional, and a piece of glass to the wrong patio table top. Oh, and no cushions. After calling Simone, she admitted to not following up with the delivery and blamed Eglon for ordering the wrong items. So because the price was going to change because she forgot to add in some of the missing items, I would have to find my way back to the store and re-sign the paperwork. I would also have to pay for their 3rd party delivery guy out-of-pocket to come later that evening. Well, he never shows up. I call him three times and he finally answers and says his truck broke down. He asked my why Simone did not tell me? Seriously? At this point Im thinking: change your name to "Shi**y Furniture." So Saturday, minutes before my familys arrival, the delivery guy comes through and brings the missing pieces. Everything looks good except now, the cushions dont match. We had our 3rd delivery 2 days later to fix this issue. But that awesome buying experience does not end here: The finance company calls me the day after the holiday and tells me I need to go back to the store and sign paperwork again because my signatures did not appear to match. And after having to pay the delivery fee out-of-pocket, I was supposed to get the 135.00 reimbursed and put back on my Amex credit card. A week later, I followed up and called to speak with the Manager (6-2-15), Tony, to confirm this was done. She calls me back on 6-3-15 and tells me it was credited back to the THE WRONG account (a purchase made in January with another bank) and her accounting dept. confimed to her that there was nothing she could do. Overall, I have never experienced anything like this. There was no execution to ensure a full delivery and too many mistakes were made on the behalf of the staff from ordering the wrong furniture. This ordeal has caused me great stress and a lot of time. The worst is reaching out to a company who blantantly ignores you as two weeks have gone by since I sent a survey and an email regarding this EPIC Fail to their corporate office. City or Shi**y furniture, you decide. But dont say I didnt warn you!

On Sunday 7-6-14 City Furniture lured me in with their "Same Day Delivery" promotion and the scam continued downhill from there. After I purchased my $1,300 bedroom set from Jasmine, I was told that the Same Day Delivery was not available because it was full for the evening. We agreed that I would call back once I had my work schedule for the latter half of the following week, and she explained that I needed to call the day before my preferred delivery. On Tuesday I called back to schedule my delivery for Wednesday, and was only able to leave a message for Jasmine. My call was not returned and I had to call back to reach her. I was told that they were unable to fit me into the schedule on Wednesday, and she also asked me to make a 3 hour elevator reservation in my building for her delivery driver. On Wednesday morning I called back, having reserved the elevators in anticipation of a Thursday delivery. Jasmine again informed me that they were unable to deliver on Thursday due to a full schedule. I informed Jasmine that this trend was unacceptable and that she needed to correct it. She did not offer any accommodations and without any other options I decided to reverse my transaction. I will give Jasmine credit for being happy to reimburse me. It seems that they are very familiar with this situation as it appears to be company practice to sell more furniture than they can deliver. Word to the wise, spend your money with Rooms to Go if you would like to actually receive the furniture you purchase. Apparently this type of customer service has earned Jasmine a Management Trainee opportunity, so you can look forward to this type of effort as you deal with both management and floor people. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE IF YOU PLAN TO USE THE FURNITURE YOU PURCHASE!!!

We are from Canada, we purchased all our condo furniture at City Furniture. what a mistake. Our dining table warped in the middle, the table legs are cracked. We purchased a sectional, their so called leather is peeling. We also purchased a leather sofa bed that also is peeling. Mind you our bedroom furniture is not falling apart yet. We purchased this furniture about three years ago, but I contacted City Furniture after the table was falling apart about after our 2nd visit to florida. which was about 4 months later. Every time we come to florida which is about every 4 months I always go to city furniture to remind them of my experience, they dont seem to care. We are from Canada, I have bought a lot of furniture, 1st the furniture has not fallen apart so soon and if there ever was a problem, the stores would stand behind their merchandise. I guess this store does not care whether their customers are satisfied or not. I guess there will be the 1st time but not the 2nd for everyone. Never again. FURNITURE IS NOT SUPPOSE TO FALL APART SO EASILY, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS NOT BEing USED REGULARLY ( WE JUST VACATION IN FLORIDA) COULD YOU IMAGINE IF WE LIVED THERE ALL YEAR ROUND. EVERY YEAR WE WOULD NEED NEW FURNITURE. (WOULD BE LUCKY IF IT WOULD BE A YEAR.) PS -I HOPE CITY FURNITURE REVIEWS ALL THESE REVIEWS. AND SHOULD REMEMBER SATISFACTION GUARANTEE IS VERY IMPORTANT IN RUNNING A BUSINESS DISAPPOINTED

I obtained a vacation condo in Ft Lauderdale in Oct of 2009. After making a number of furniture purchases from Macys, City Furniture, Ikea and more, I can honestly say that City Furniture was the one vendor I would not buy from again. For starters, be aware that if you receive defective merchandise, they will charge you to have someone come out and look at it. I obtained both beds from City Furniture, both were King Koil. Within 2 weeks, the King size King Koil mattress sunk in so far, it looked as if an automobile had been sitting on it for 3 years. City Mattress informed me that they would charge me $49 dollars to have an inspector come out and review it. From what I took of this and the conversation with the service rep, this was just another way to grab $50 more dollars and that it was going to be a almost impossible to get a new one. On the flip side, a leather sofa that I purchased from Macys ended up having a defective cushion. Macys promptly sent someone out that looked at, agreed it was defective and ordered a new one on the spot. I have 4 homes and all have pillow top mattress in every room. These were the first King Koils and the last. Stay away from this brand! Without a doubt, I would never buy from City Furniture again.
