not being from Daytona Beach I was surprised to find such a wonderful little store in what I imagined to be a tourist trap. After talking to the owner Jim, I was informed that he had been in business in that location for nearly 30 years, predating all the Miami Vice decor in the neighborhood. The shop is small and space is tight, or at least it feels this way, because of the seemingly massive collection. Much of the collection is non-fiction/historical (right up my alley). I was highly impressed by the selection and the reasonable prices. The owner is helpful and friendly. If you want a used book in Daytona, go here.

I am the owner of this bookstore - this is in response to the review by "Diane Talley" - your review is not clear whether you were buying or selling books, but it does not matter - I assure you I dont "switch" books either way. Maybe you picked up the wrong books by accident? I dont have the need or desire to play petty tricks on people. Maybe you have us confused with someone else, I dont recognize you at all. JS. This place is not kitchy. The diversity of categories in this place is refreshing and I always find a little treasure when im here. There may be books on the floor but the organization by topic is pretty spot on. Anthropology, chinese culture and history, chinese language, astrology, drama and literature are my favorite topics and i always find something here. The prices are fair and always worth it. Great place!

Oh Lord. I love everything about this place. The owner is a great guy, the layout of the shop is different and aesthetically pleasing. How can one not love Sterling, the shop cat who wanders around with you. The shop has that amazing book smell. Theres a great variety of books at great prices. Location is perfect. Its 5 minutes away from my condo in Daytona Beach. I couldnt ask for more. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL!

Excellent selection of older and classic books sure to satisfy your desire to read and also provide a conversation piece for your living room table. The owner is very friendly and he is like a talking catalog of book-related information. We are lucky to have such a cultural asset in our city.

Watch he exchanges the older books for less expensive ones when you are not watching. Didnt realize until I got home and was checking pictures taken of them from what i put on web. DIDNT have originals had others of no real value

If you love books this is your secret garden! i walked into the store and was in awe of the sheer amount of books, number of topics, and the owners knowledge of inventory. I was a bit overwhelmed but found tons of great books.

Kurt Brunen the owner of the bookstore had emergency open heart surgery. Thats why the bookstore was closed that week! And Diane Tally you are insane. That never happened!
