If youre looking for delicious and authentic Mexican food, La Placita is the place to be. Their tacos arent your ordinary "Taco Bell" tacos. Theyre made with real, soft, flour tortillas. I order the chicken every time I visit and the chicken is very well seasoned and cooked. It is both juicy and succulent. Aside from the chicken. the tacos are topped with cilantro and onions. I am not a huge fan of the tacos only because I do not enjoy the cilantro and onion combination but my girlfriend loves them! They are on the small side but theyre definitely worth what you pay for ($1.89 each). My favorite dish are the tostadas. I of course order these with chicken. For roughly $2 you receive two chicken tostadas topped with shredded lettuce and ripe, diced tomatoes, garnished with sour cream, parmesan and sometimes cheddar cheese. I think the tostadas provide some of the best flavor in Mexican dining by far. I recommend also trying their side of rice and beans. You receive a very hardy portion of rice and beans for only $3. The rice is some of the best rice I have ever had and the beans as well are very well seasoned and prepared. Overall the food here is deliciosa. There is a slight language barrier between the employees and customers if you dont speak Spanish, but if you have a finger to point you shouldnt have an issue choosing anything off the menu. In fact the only reason I didnt give this restaurant a five star review is because I notice sometimes the dining room isnt as well kept as most are. The tables are sometimes dirty and there are often dirty trays stacked atop the trash receptacle. Other than that La Placita is in fact a great place to come and eat. I would definitely recommend coming here. And if youre ever in need of some hispanic ingredients and products this is the place to do your shopping.

Best food around in cocoa , nice staff at front desk, but I cant say that about the kitchen staff, always so rude, never smile . Horrible service!!!

Ive been eating here since they started serving food. Watched his kids grow up. My wife is chicana from SoCal and this place was authentic. Last couple of times we stopped in they didnt have menudo or lengua. Only taqueria in the area and it seems theyve given up. Probably because the owner is concentrating on his restaurant in Cocoa Beach. Cant even order tamales any longer. Shame.

Found every single item for Mexican food prep that I would have expected to find IN MEXICO. Excellent selection of Mexican cheeses, spices and dried peppers. The tacos were delicious and incredibly authentic, and the agua de horchata was made from actual rice, not syrup. My husband and I agreed -- we havent had Mexican food this good since last time were IN Mexico!

Comming from a place where tacos are everywhere I can definately say that this are the worse tacos I have ever tried. Carnitas tacos taste like boiled meat. Carne asada tacos taste like rotten fried meat, chicken tacos are not good either. Customer service is bad, staff personal is very rude.. Not recommended.

If you are making mexican food and publix just isnt cutting it for ingredients this is the place to go. They have a nice selection of mexican cheeses especially. I didnt try the takeout but there was a small line of people so that is encouraging. Ill try something next time Im in.

While Im not Mexican, I grew up in So. California with authentic Mexican food. Believe me when I tell you this is the real thing. From the fresh made tortillas to the home made tamales to the carne asada and carnitas, if you love Mexican food youll become a regular as I have.

As a native of So Cal, I can tell you that this is the closest to authentic Mexican food you will find in Brevard county. You will find a lot of Tex Mex food around but its not the same as Mexican food. Give them a try and youll see what Im talking about. So good!

They sell tamales here prepackaged for take out that are really good. Some produce but not much else then that. There is a food truck outside and place to sit. They are also a small grocery store as well

Absolutely the best authentic Mexican food in town. Skip the refuted beans and dry rice from all the TexMex places and enjoy a true taste from south of the border
